Here’s old mates stun animation - it’s also very late but I set up a camera specifically for these previews so that I can keep a consistent look for them. Still gotta do his elbows but very happy with this one so far!
More animations. The flip looks weird because the height will be changed in the game, so he’s just on the spot in maya, and after looking at this I need to fix up the knees on the run. Overall pretty happy with todays effort, and gotta remember to keep using references!!!!

Here’s a (I think) neato animation of thew new Deors’ walk cycle - it’s actually the second walk I made for him, but I like this one better. It’s kind of weird animation a rig with the double knee thing that’s going on, and i’m gonna let this animation stay as is until either monday or tuesday so I can come back to it and clean it up with fresh eyes.
Spent today making a variant of the banner to show more of that town pride, and started animating the new Deor. Here’s it’s idle animation.
Here’s a slightly different take on that concept, which I like a lot more. It keeps the focus where it should be, and if we wanted to it would be super easy to add text into the loading screen as well, in order to do more world building in game, or remind players of certain mechanics.
And here’s the word count for the tutorial. The tutorial will teach the player all the basic mechanics except for battling, which will be a smaller event that comes when the player starts on the main questline. I didn’t know what else to post because I didn’t want to give any of the actual writing/story away, so I thought the word count would be good. There will even be different choices that affect how the game is played! wow!
Here’s a concept of a loading screen - Might change up the colours and try different sizes for things, but due to the games quick load times and open world this isn’t going to be used too much. I also spent time today fixing up the fences UV’s, since there was an issue with overlapping lightmaps causing the glass to not be seamless in unity. We have a couple of different angles of the fence in game and ready to go as well!

Here’s an untextured render of the fence I’ve been struggling to make due to Maya constantly crashing on me for no real reason. Looks average now, but should look a lot better when its textured. Neat!

Not a lot happened today, I updated some stuff and messed about with different textures for the ruins. Made some rocks but all of it is already in game so i’ll hold off on that until we have a build. Spent a lot of time with Mason trying to solve some issues we were having in the unity scene.

Big dump of stuff today! Finished off the cafe interior scene (definitely going to redo some of the UV’s and textures that aren’t quite where they should be), and finished the barrel and park bench textures and got them all into the scene, so we should be able to get a bit of use out of those! We’ve nearly got another Deor ready for animation, so hopefully on friday/monday i’ll be able to post something about that.
