My mom has been crocheting a lot the past for years! I sent her a bunch of video game characters I loved in case she ever had some free time.

This is her version of Scoot from Animal Crossing! He was genuinely one of my favorites from New Horizons back in the day, so I thought it’d be cool to have him represented on my shelves somehow.

I transferred my original Charizard to Pokémon Champions

This is my Charizard from Pokémon FireRed that I caught in 2005.

In the past few years, we traveled across space and time, gathering so many experiences (and ribbons) in every region and game we could. You should definitely watch that video by the way, wink wink.

But now, here we are battling together on Pokémon Champions!

Can you believe this twenty-year-old Pokémon from the Game Boy Advance era is kicking ass on the Nintendo Switch 2?

I really wanna transfer Charizard to Legends: Z-A, but I’m not quite ready to cut it off from the other Switch games yet. So I’m just glad I get to move freely to and from Champions!

I mean, I’m no battler. I’m a novice! But luckily the power level is low enough to give me some chances to win. Hopefully, I can move all the way up the ranks with Charizard just for the experience!

Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension is the sixteenth and final game I beat in 2025. Okay, I know it's DLC, but you know what I mean!

Last but not least, Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension.

After the events of the main story, a little girl and her mythical Pokémon, Hoopa, appear as pocket dimensions start spawning everywhere. You’re tasked to investigate with your new bestie Korrina and your old bestie rival in what’s being called Hyperspace Lumiose. Pokémon previously not available start to appear, as well as a few more new mega Pokémon. Oh, how do you enter those pocket dimensions? Why, donuts, of course!

Why would you even ask? You see, because of Hoopa’s rings, and—actually, this is my favorite thing about Pokémon. They’re not afraid to get silly goofy. In fact, they should continue to be silly goofy. I mean, they’re games for kids!

With the DLC, they also add a bunch of side quests from the insane citizens of Lumiose, and every now and then, they hit you with some meaningful dialogue. In a game where a major death occurs, and the events of this game are a direct result of a previous game, there’s a lot of conversation about embracing change. Honestly, it makes me feel better about not being 10 years old anymore.

Etiology of Kill Screen

In college, I recorded the sound that the Game Boy Advance makes when you remove a game cartridge while the system was on.

Then, I used that sound in a song I was composing for one of my classes.

Dragon Quest I is the fifteenth game I beat in 2025. I absolutely loved the Game Boy Color version, but should I try other versions of the game?

It’s the first Dragon Quest game for the Game Boy Color.

Before the events of the game, the king’s daughter, Lady Lora, is kidnapped by the DracoLord. You, as a descendant of the legendary hero, Loto, are tasked to save her and defeat the DracoLord.

As it turns out, you gotta traverse the land to collect sacred artifacts entrusted to sages. Along the way, you slay a million Slimes, Golems, and other monsters to level up your strength and magic.

At each town, there are various upgrades to purchase at the local shops and NPCs to share chisme.

Once you have collected everything you need, you can go ahead and summon the bridge to the castle where the DracoLord will offer to share half the world with you. As a thanks, you kill him twice and seize the entire world for yourself.
