Ā "Nice to meet you, I guess. Iām Violet." She closed the book she was reading before shifting uncomfortably.
"What were you reading?"
Ā "I guess Iām not the only one who feels that way." She blinked at him for a moment before giving a small smile back.
"I'm Dash, by the way. In case you wanted to know." He said, continuing to grin.
Ā "Youāre welcome." She looked back to her book to continue reading, pausing when he began to speak again. She half-smiled as he rambled before shrugging. "I just felt like sitting in a corner. No particular reason for it, either."
"Oh. I totally get that feeling though. Kind of why I'm here myself." He chuckled, tucking his knees up to his chest and grinning at her.
"Ah I see, where did they go?"
"Dad is on a business trip and mum has had enough of my language so Iām giving her a break. She doesnāt like being cross so Iām just helping out."
France for a few weeks, then over to a couple of the countries in that area, I think.
Oh, that's cool, I think? I mean, sucks that your mum's mad at you, but yeah, means you got to come here early, I guess.

Ā Jumping, Violet looked up before shaking her head once. āThereās plenty of space for two.ā
"Awesome, thanks!" Dash replied, sitting down across from her and looking at the book she was holding. "What're you doing here? I don't mean here as in generally, I meant like in this corner alone. You probably knew what I meant though..."
"Of course it is."
"Iām good, better now that Iāve seen ya. Why are you here so early?"
My parents went on holiday a couple days ago, and they're going to be gone for a couple months, so seeing as I didn't really have any reason to stay at home, figured I'd come here and hang out with my friends.
Did you have any reason for coming in early?
Ā "Well, I donāt think this place has opened up to students this early before so they could have continued surprising us you knowā¦."
"But who cares. Hey you! How are you?"
Okay, fair point there, I guess.
Hey there! I'm pretty great, yeah. How are you?
"Youād think with the new stuff this year that this place would look a bit different."
I don't think this place has changed it's appearance in about 100 years.
Violet sat in some corner of the library, trying to remain hidden from view.
Walking down the aisle of books slowly, Dash rounded the corner, stopping when he saw her. "Oh hey... sorry, did you want me to find somewhere else to be?"

Well...
Iām back. Itās good to be back.
Yay! We missed you!
Ā "Exactly! I mean if I had any kids and when they would have to go to school, Iād probably just cry and make them late for the train or something. Though, by the time fifth year rolls around, Iād be like why are you still in my house?" She laughed and shook her head, "Joking, but yeah. Kids are a special thing if you can get into all that."
She smiled as he laughed and messed with a few things, pausing as the station changes/volume change and nods a bit. āSo you can just listen whist you drive, thatās pretty cool. Iād probably canāt multi-task if I ever learn to drive.ā
"I can definitely imagine that, you know?"Ā Dash chuckled fondly at the thought of that, nodding. "But yeah, kids are pretty great. Although I'm absolutely horrible with them. I used to babysit for some family friends during school break, and their kids had me wrapped around their fingers. The parents hated me cause I let them stay up until midnight and eat candy, but the kids adored me." He took a moment to reminisce on the memories, laughing softly under his breath.
"Yeah, pretty cool, right? Almost like magic, except minus the actual magic." He chuckled, turning a corner and checking the directions once more before slowing down, smiling. "According to the directions, it should be around here somewhere, so keep an eye out for it?"
Ā "I canāt believe how some people would hate that their child wouldnāt have magic! Itās not as if its there fault or anything, and even with some muggles over the simple thing of gender people get all riled up about it." She knew that it was a difficult topic to talk about since they both had very identical views about how people should be treated and all.
She couldnāt help a blush that crept onto her face as he messed with some of the buttons and knobs, slightly startled as sounds were coming out and smiled sheepishly. āI guess it wouldnāt have made sense to make a button that would destroy the carā¦ā
"It's like we're in the middle ages sometimes. It's unbelievable." Dash responded, nodding furiously in agreement with everything the girl was saying.
Dash laughed, manoeuvring around a corner. "Feel free to mess around with it. As long as you don't touch those," He gestured vaguely to the gear stick and the hand brake. "I don't think you can really do any harm."
Ā She smiled as he spoke and continued to drive and looked at all the little buttons, handles and knobs on the front, though not touching them incase it would do something. āThatās true, I think I read something about that in the past in Muggle Studies class about all that and how it became such a big thing. Still, its always good to have accepting and open minded people because really, letting people in to help is always better and can help you in the times you need it most.ā
"Yeah, eleven year-old me was terrified when I got the letter, but my parents were ridiculously supportive about it. But I can kind of get how some muggle parents would freak out or hate their kid if they found out that they had magical powers. Just as some wizards hate their kids if they turn out to have no magic." Dash chuckled somewhat bitterly, disgusted that some people can be that elitist or ignorant that they can hate their child over something they can't control. "But fortunately most people are pretty open minded about it, so yeah, your philosophy there is definitely one to stick by." He laughed fondly as he noticed Dani still staring at the buttons in confusion, before reaching over and playing with a few, turning the radio on and messing around with the heat settings. "See? Not going to make the car explode or anything."

Ā "How did you react to the letter? I mean thatās gotta be so weird, like some joke or something." She smiled a bit as she saw him smile and nodded, "Itās amazing, though some people just take it as being better then everyone and thatās kinda stupid. Everything has got some cool things in it if you take the time and look."Ā
"It was pretty surreal. I mean, my parents didn't even know magic existed before I got the letter, so it was definitely a massive change." He smiles faintly, reminiscing on the memories for a few moments before jolting himself out of the past and chuckling, looking over at the girl next to him. "It does suck that people think of it that way, but I guess there's always going to be people like that, no matter where you go."
Ā Dani smiled and nodded, āI can imagine! It was probably crazy as hell, but not so much now right? I mean we have lessons and Quidditch games and everything.ā It was pretty exciting, both worlds in Daniās mind and didnāt really get how people couldnāt see the best of both sides. It wasnāt something she could change but she sure as hell would experience it in every way she could.
"Yeah, walking in to the grounds on my first day and seeing people flying through the air on brooms almost gave me a heart attack, but I'm pretty used to it now." Dash laughed to himself at the memory, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel in a vague rhythm as he rounded the next corner. "I mean, I even now have moments where the whole magic things seems a little surreal. It's pretty amazing, though, isn't it?
