so we all agree that prince cardan is an elitist prick (I mean, he is) but let’s also collectively acknowledge the fact that he’s like,, a complete fucking trainwreck of a person:

shows up drunk on the day of his brother’s coronation

copes with having a crush by aggressively writing her name over and over on a crumpled piece of paper

makes out with her while she casually holds a knife to his throat

literally bends himself to her will to prove himself trustworthy

has huge character flaws that he has no intention of ever working on

drinks wine & plays cards with his kidnappers because at this point why not

has zero sense of self preservation in general

extreme cynicism towards self

……is generally really sarcastic for someone who’s about to start crying at any given moment
