vrmars:
She felt the tension mounting in her shoulders, making her spine arch forwards in frustration. Rolling her neck and tilting her head back, she let out a quiet huff. Arguing was in her nature: she’d always fought for what she believed in. Tooth and nail. And she usually won too. It was hard when things didn’t come out the right way after she put in so much hard work. It was hard waiting on the law when she knew the truth.
Though she could be quite cool, detached, about some things, Veronica was a passionate being, one who felt things intensely and couldn’t entirely control it. “And in the mean time, risk other victims. Isn’t that the irony of law enforcement? You need a victim to get the bad guy.” Her nose wrinkled. “What exactly do you need to get this bastard?” And I’ll get it.
She glanced down at her darkly painted fingernails, fighting the urge to chew them. She was feeling the same frustration as the other, but it was inappropriate for her to reveal it and shed even more doubt and mistrust in the system that she was currently arguing in favor of. A big part of her was starting to like the Mars girl, even if she was making it a bit hard to buckle down and concentrate on the case at hand.
“ Unless you have a better legal idea, I’m afraid that’s the answer. ” Her forehead wrinkled in concentration and she mulled over options in her head. Options that could yield them faster results without jeopardizing lives OR a case. Erin tilted her head to the side with a stern look. She needed Veronica to understand just how serious she was. “ Emphasis on LEGAL. ”
