The Intriguing Originality (Ch. 1)
Read on AO3
Summary: After moving to the Southside, where she does not fit in at all, Betty Cooper has an unlikely saving grace named Jughead Jones, who just happened to be a vital member of the Southside Serpents.
Word Count: 8265
Notes: I was going to make this multiple chapters because of how long it is, but changed my mind like half way through. Saw this prompt and immediately thought of something, taking a bit of my own spin on it. Hope you like it :) Also, meant to post this earlier, but my tumblr was being weird.Â
Chapters: 1 2
Betty Cooper and her mother were officially residents of the Southside. After the divorce of Alice and Hal, the Cooper mother was going from job to job, trying to keep money on the table and still writing for a good team. None of her short jobs worked out though. She went through nearly everything and the next best thing was on the opposite side of town. After thinking about it, due to how tight they were on money, Alice thought moving back to the Southside would be a great idea⌠she was a Southside native, which most never knew.
To Bettyâs eyes, everything was different in the Southside, and she was not prepared to adjust. Her friends back âhomeâ werenât here with her either, making it even harder for her. Though she wasnât fond of the idea of her having to move, she knew that once Monday would come around and sheâd go into her new high school for the first time, sheâd put on her brace face and get through it.
In a calmer fashion, Betty shook all of those thoughts out of her head and helped her mother organize their new apartment. Betty knew she had to be mature about this, so she was going to be.
* * *
The first day of going to a new school came around in a flash. Since it was her first day, Betty thought she should present herself in a fashionable and pretty manner. She wore a nice, light jean skirt with a beautiful pastel pink, collared jumper as a top and a pair of matching pink booties as shoes. She wore her hair in the infamous Betty Cooper ponytail. As a way to add a little spice to herself, she put on some mascara and a pretty pink lip gloss. For her sense of style, she looked ready to go.
On her walk there, she felt a bit uncomfortable and out of place. There were children smoking cigarette and marijuana simply walking on the side of the road, and that is something her mother had cursed about back on the Northside. Everyone was giving her sideways glances as well, but she figured it was because they never saw her before. She kept her head high as she walked, knowing sheâd soon be familiar with this all.

Summary: Toni tries to get Jughead for herself. How do Betty and Jughead react?
Word Count: 1577
Notes: For anyone who loves Toni, sorry for making her seem so terrible in this. Iâm happy that in the 2x06, she said how she knew Jughead wasnât over Betty. Truly, as a friend in the show, I think sheâd be a good mentor for Jughead as he gets used to being a Serpent. But that kiss in 2x05? That was a no. I like the idea of them sticking together as Serpents though. Someone in there needs to look out for Jug while his dad isnât around, in my opinion.
Toni Topaz tried to be quite the threat. Ever since Jughead had became a Serpent, she wanted him as her own. Sure, he had precious, supportive Betty Cooper as his girlfriend, but what could she do for him? Toni thought that with correct planning, she could kick Betty out for good.
The gang was in the Whyte Wyrm, like always. Jughead was sitting next to Sweetpea, rolling his eyes at whatever the taller boy was saying. Sweetpea could be quite the dumbass sometimes, but they two of them had grown to be friends over the past few months. Toni walked inside and caught the sight of the two boys, making her smirk. She then scanned the area, seeing that Jughead hadnât brought Betty along with him today.
âHi, Jug,â Toni said as she made her way over to the boy in the gray colored crown beanie. âAny plans today? Gonna head to the Northside? Act all prime and proper at Popâs with your preppy friends?â She asked jokingly, raising her eyebrows at him as she took a seat in the barstool next to him. âOr⌠you gonna act like one of us today?â Toni was the only one who ever talked like this to him⌠the others were afraid to say anything like that being that FP was out of jail now. No one messes with a Jones too bad when the head oneâs around.

Shocked (Ch. 1)

Summary: Betty and Jughead had been broken up for three weeks. When Jughead finds out that Betty is currently standing on the ledge of a bride, is he able to keep her from jumping?
Word Count: 1502
Notes: This was painful to write, ooph. Hopefully will have chapter two up by soon!
Chapters: 1 2
Warnings: Attempted suicide.
Ever since the day that Betty had broken up with Jughead via Archie, Jughead has been keeping an extremely low profile. He wouldnât consider himself to be sulking around or anything like that, but that was the way his father, who had been released from jail, classified himâ a âhardcore sulker.â Sure, he kept up with what was going on in the Serpents, he went to school, he hung out at the Whyte Wyrm, and all that, but he would normally try to stick to himself. Jughead didnât go out of his way to talk to his fellow gang members, and he definitely did not go out of his way to call up Betty or Archie. Whenever Archie or Veronica or any other people of the group would text to check up on him, which they often did, he would never give them the satisfaction of responding.
It had been a whole three weeks since everything went down, and the sting of the breakup still hurt too much for him to get back out there. Even when Toni, who was a beautiful girl, had kissed him right after his Serpents initiation, he pushed it off. No one was like Betty Cooper, but if she didnât want him, he wasnât going to try to win her back. He knew sheâd toss him to the side one day anyway, so he just had to wait until he got used to the feeling of having her gone.
Right now, Jughead was sitting in the Whyte Wyrm. The place was packed of Serpents, like always. He was sporting a cold ginger ale, and sitting on his usual bar stool. People would come up to him to greet him, but that was all⌠they knew better than to try and actually converse with him. He was simply a broody, broody boy.
Jughead felt his phone buzzing in his pocket, but ignored it. In all honesty, he \ didnât really care who it was. Once it stopped, he pulled it out to see a missed call from Archie. Rolling his eyes, he set the cell phone on the counter of the bar and head into the restroom.

Opposing Sides
Read on AO3
Summary: Reversed roles: Betty as a Serpent, Jughead as a rich boy. What happens when the schools merge and Jughead and Betty, two of the most important people in their sides of their subject, have an encounter?
Word Count: 2712
Notes: I loveeee writing and reading about Betty as a Serpent. The reversed roles are so fun!!
Betty Cooper was the Serpent princess. She ran that side of town like no other. Her headstrong behavior and beautiful looks had the other Serpents wrapped around her pinky and the townies scared to ever trespass. She was certainly like no other, and that was a fact. For a girl who liked to be alone most of the time, her presence had quite an effect.
When Southside High merged into Riverdale High, her powerful status remained. Her only competition was Cheryl Blossom, but to compare that redhead to her was like comparing her to nothing. With that slick, blonde hair and that fitting leather jacket, Betty still was the most fierce girl that anyone has ever laid eyes on.
For Riverdale, on the other hand, the people they considered high and mighty were the jocks. In reality, they were just a bunch of privileged, uneducated students who got along simply because of their athletic talent. It was annoying to most people, but thatâs how it went.
Betty stayed silent, but she hated those jocks. She found them to be misogynistic assholes, but she always kept her mouth shut. That is until one of them tried speaking down to her, then she put them in their place. In the few days that the Southsiders were in this high school, they started to know who the fuck was boss.

Secrets
Read on AO3
Summary: The civil war between the Northside and the Southside was getting to be at its worst. Betty Cooper has a secret about herself and the Southside, and it was very important to keep it hidden. How important was this secret to her?
Word Count: 1620
Notes: So ready for the next episode, tbh⌠these next few days are gonna feel so long.
Betty Cooper and her parents, who owned the Register, which was the local newspaper in Riverdale, were currently having an elegant dinner with Mayor McCoy. They were talking about what information would be good for the people of the town to know about, and always what was allowed to be talked about. The Cooperâs and the McCoyâs had these meetings, or dinners, at least once a month.
Betty wasnât quite paying attention to what the parents in the room were talking about until a single word peaked her interest. Southside. âAlice, I believe that you need to make it known that all problems in this townâ drugs, robbery, slandering, even murderâ stem from the Southside. This is an issue that needs to be talked about more, so people know where to blame. Their wrongdoings should never be falling on us,â Mayor McCoy said. Betty stiffened in her seat at that.
There was a civil war going on in Riverdale, one that seemed to be going on for way too long. Anyone who was willing to cross the border between the Northside and the Southside was partaking in some risky matters, but that surely didnât stop everyone.

The Intriguing Originality (Ch. 2)

Summary: While further into their relationship, Jughead is still trying to keep Betty safe⌠even through her crazy, secretive mother and especially through the assholes of the Southside.
Word Count: 6175
Notes: Sorry this took so long for me to get done! A few people requested a chapter 2 so I hope you like it :)
Chapters: 1 2
Ever since Jughead and Betty became a couple a few weeks ago, the boy was notoriously keeping his new, beautiful, unique girlfriend as safe as he possibly could in the dangerous halls of their high school. Â When they were together, the second any other student would give her a sideways look, he would scowl at them, showing a bit of threat. No one was to bother her, no one was to mess with her. Just his presence around her made that known to the students of Southside High, and anyone who crossed that line, well, they were in for a rude awakening. He had hoped that that stuck for when he wasnât around her as well.
The core friend group that Jughead had was honestly warming up to Betty since theyâve gotten to know her. After a few days, they found her sense of humor and side comments were actually quite funny. Another thing that drew them to her was the way she that she outwardly volunteered her help with anything they needed, whether it be not understanding homework or not being able to clean up the aftermath of a fight that was shown on their face. She didnât look at them with judgement as they did to her when she came around, and they all appreciated that.
Their relationship was just going really well, and Jughead wanted to keep it that way. He wanted to show her how much he valued her. âHey, babe,â he said, while shutting his laptop to stop him from working.
âHm?â Betty responded, not paying complete attention as she typed away on her own laptop. Her focus and determination also was a factor that made Jughead head over heels for her; it was quite admirable.
Toni snorted at the scene in front of her, lifting her head from the photographs she was going through. She knew that if Bettyâs attention wasnât directly on Jughead, sheâd have no clue what he was saying to her. Helping her friend out, she called out, âYo, lollipop!â At that, Bettyâs head shot up, looking at Toni with horror at why sheâd use that nickname again. âYour boyfriendâs talking to you,â she pointed at Jughead, who was grinning ear to ear. Bettyâs cheeks flushed, not realizing she wasnât aware of her surroundings a moment ago. Once her attention was averted, Toni refocused on her own work.
âWhatâs up?â Betty asked Jughead. He got up and started walking to her, sitting on the desk in front of where she was seated. âWhat?â She asked softly, wondering why he seemed so intent on whatever he was about to say.
âLetâs go on a proper date tonight,â Jughead proposed. âLike one where I pick you up and I take you out to dinner and a movie.â She was his girlfriend, and he was going to treat her the way a good boyfriend treats his girlfriend⌠like a fucking princess.
âReally?â Betty asked, a smile gracing her lips. âLike a real proper date? Are you gonna pick me up at my apartment? Do I have to dress fancy? Or are we gonna go to Popâs? We both love Popâs. What movie will we see? Ooh, Juggie! This is gonna be so fun,â she babbled, squealing giddily. The first âdateâ she went on with Jughead went great, and all the other dinners they had picked up since then have went well also, but they never considered it to be a proper date. This excited her.
Jughead grinned at how fast her questions were coming. She was so adorable sometimes. âYes, Iâll pick you up at home. A real proper date. Just dress like yourself. Yes, weâll go to Popâs. Iâll surprise you with the movie,â he answered all the questions in one go, just as she asked them. She smiled through every word he responded with, making his heart swell in ways he didnât know was possible. âOh, and seven oâclock, okay?â
Betty nodded. âOkay,â she responded. It was going to be a great night. She then reached up, grabbing Jugheadâs leather jacket to pull him down for a kiss. He made a sound of surprised, but the kissed back even harder.
âEw!â Toni complained. âGet a room.â The two separated momentarily, giggling. With no remorse, Jughead chucked the middle finger at her and then turned back around to kiss his girlfriend again.
* * *
Although Jughead had told her just to dress like herself, Betty wanted to look pretty for their date. She was looking through her closet and found a powder blue sundress patterned with pinkish-tan roses all around it, it was quite a nice dress. After trying it on, she decided to wear that with a tan cardigan and matching tan high heels. The outfit looked nice, but sort of like her regular self. Changing it up a smidge, she decided to wear her hair down in waves, simply clipping the tops back to keep it from falling in her face. For her makeup, she put on a light coating of pink eye shadow, mascara, and pink lip gloss to finish it off.
Just as she was finishing up, the doorbell of her apartment rang. She flattened out her dress as quick as possible before running out of her bedroom to get the door, hoping to get there before her mother did. She was too late though, hearing, âHelloââ
âHi Mrs. Cooper,â Jughead said. âIâm Jughead. Iâm here forââ
âMe!â Betty finished his sentence, going to give him a welcoming kiss.
Jughead noticed something different, unsurprisingly. âYour hairâs down,â he realized aloud. This was his first time ever seeing it like this, and honestly, he couldnât believe how amazing it looked. âIt looks so pretty,â he said, reaching up with one hand to tuck a fallen strand behind her ear. Of course, she blushed, quietly thanking him.
Then, with the other hand, from behind his back, he pulled out a bouquet of red and white roses.
âOh, my gosh, Juggie,â she gasped before she reached for the flowers. âYou didnât have to,â she beamed, looking at the beautiful bouquet.
Jughead chuckled. âYou say that way too often,â he teased. âI do this stuff for you because I want to, honey⌠not because I have to.â The smile she was giving him at that made his heart swell, which just the look of her normally causes.
Betty stood on her tippy toes and planted a sweet kiss on his lips. âYouâre the best.â She squealed. âIâm gonna go put this in a vase,â she said, running to go do that, leaving Jughead and her mother there alone.
Jughead shifted on his feet, a bit nervous to have to deal with the heavy gaze of Alice Cooper. The woman was really scrutinizing everything about him, taking in his whole entire appearance, so of course, Jughead felt a bit uncomfortable. To his surprise then, Alice spoke up. âYouâre FP Jonesâ son,â she said as if it was obvious.
Jughead nervously coughed. âUh, yes, maâam⌠how do you know that?â He furrowed his eyebrows a little bit in confusion. In his mind, the further he thinks about it, Bettyâs family and his family seems to have no possible connection, right?
âWe used to know each other,â Alice said, crossing her arms over her chest. âYour father wasnât too good of an influence back then. Seeing as you, yourself, are a Serpent, I suppose you arenât either.â She clicked her tongue, still studying the boy up and down, from his beanie to his combat boots. âSplitting image,â she mumbled under her breath. Then with furrowed and expectant brows, she asked, âSo, Jughead, what are your intentions with my daughter? Trying to make her one of yours? Need another member in the gang?â She mocked.
âNo,â Jughead responded instantly. He was internally wincing with each word that Mrs. Cooper said, but he kept a straight face. âI donât want Betty to be a Serpent. I want her to be her, and thatâs all. You have to understand, Mrs. Cooper, your daughter is like no one Iâve ever met before. Breaking someone of their nonconformity would be the worst action that I could take,â he spoke honestly. âIâm with Betty because sheâs who she is. I would never try and change that.â He tried to hold eye contact with the woman after he finished speaking, but damn, was she intimidating, which was a lot to say, coming from a Serpent.
Alice stepped forward a bit. âA snake may shed his skin, but it always grows back.âJughead raised an eyebrow and tensed at that, but then Betty walked back into the room. âElizabeth, do you know youâre dating a Serpent? Do you understand how dangerous that is?â
âYes, I know Iâm dating a Serpent. No, he is not dangerous. Heâs the one who keeps me safe in school. And you know what? Iâd like for you not to insult my boyfriend, please. Heâs better for me than anyone else ever has been,â Betty said, trying not to sound snappy, but ultimately failing at doing so. She then turned to Jughead, smiling and saying, âLetâs go,â she whispered, grabbing her boyfriendâs hand and pulling him out to the hallway of the apartment building.
Jughead looked a bit conflicted. âShe does not like me,â he said, stating what was obvious to his eyes.
Betty stopped, and turned to look at him. âShe doesnât like anyone. Gosh, she doesnât even really like me, for that matter.â She snorted, acting like that didnât bother her. âSo donât take it personally,â she told him while she stood on her tippy toes, kissing his cheek.
As they started walking again, the boy interlaced their fingers. âShe was the bitch of the Northside, correct?â Jughead asked, and Betty nodded. âI guess the name sticks around here too,â he and Betty snorted at that because it seemed to be the honest truth.
âSo, off the topic of my insane mother,â Betty said, now showing a sliver of excitement in her tone. âWhat do you have planned for this date of ours?â She squeezed his hand, beaming up at him as they walked.
Jughead smirked. âPopâs first,â he said, which Betty already knew. âThen, Rebel Without a Cause,â he told her the movie, wiggling his eyebrows at her. The blonde girl squealed once again and jumped up, she loved that movie. It was really going to be a fun night.
As they got to Popâs, they laughed, they joked, they kissed⌠they had a really good time as a couple. Being with each other was truthfully the happiest either of them has ever felt. Though they had been together for three weeks, it felt so new and perfect. For Godâs sakes, when she did something as simple as leaning into his side during the movie, it felt like the fucking stars aligned; any form of touching was so electric and intoxicating.
The only unconventional part of the date was that throughout the night, while Betty acted like she didnât notice the sideway glances they were getting, Jughead had to tighten his grip around her and send evil eyes to anyone that would internally downplay his girlfriend; they created quite the system. In reality, the strange looks were understandable being that a girl who resembled a real-life Princess Bubblegum was with a boy who resembled punk rocker, Glenn Danzig. From the looks of it, they didnât seem to be a matching pair, but man, no one knew how perfectly they fit together.
Overall, with the gorgeous bouquet of flowers, the scrumptious dinner, and the fantastic movie, it was a wonderful date night.
* * *
Betty walked into school early as she had been for the past couple weeks, still feeling like she was on a high from her date with Jughead the night before. With her books in her arms, in her light colored jeans, white blouse, and green cardigan, she trotted her way to her first period class. The way her lips were curved upward into that blissful grin of hers seemed to be completely unfaltering.
As she approached her classroom, a boy budged into her, causing her books to fall. She didnât get frustrated or even a bit bewildered by this, she just simply bent down to pick everything up. âSorry,â she said apologetically, looking up and realizing he must be a new student. He was also in all black, coming off very grungy like everyone else in this school (besides her). In response to the girlâs apology, he growled. Once he looked at her, he snorted at the sight of her, and then stormed off. It was nothing new, but Betty refused to let the judgments bother her⌠not today. Â
While she tried to grab all of her stuff, a familiar hand came under her vision, helping her gather all of her belongings. She looked up to see Jughead, unsurprisingly. Leaning over everything, she immediately went in to plant a sweet kiss on his lips. âGood morning,â she beamed.
âHi, sunshine,â Jughead responded, standing up with all of Bettyâs books in one arm while he helped her to her feet with the other hand. âSomeone giving you trouble already today?â He asked worriedly, looking around the hallway to see if there was anyone who seemed worthy of getting cracked down on.
Betty was constantly flattered by the way he always wanted to take care of her, but any unnecessary acts of roughhousing was not in her agenda for him. Her plan was to keep her boyfriend out of as much trouble as she could. âNo, no,â she cleared up. âThereâs a new student here, I think. He accidentally ran into me, thatâs all,â she said, intentionally leaving out the part that he laughed at her because she knew how that would turn out for the new kid. From the look on his face, Jughead still seemed skeptical. âThatâs all, Juggie,â Betty repeated, putting a hand on his arm to emphasize the sliver of truth that she was telling him.
âAlright,â Jughead replied, knowing he had to believe what she was telling him. He simply didnât trust the other kids in this school, but in reality, who did? Then the two entered the classroom, and Jughead set her books on her rightful desk. âHow was your walk here this morning? I couldâve picked you up, you know?â He grinned at her.
Betty nodded her head. âI know. You can pick me up tomorrow,â she said. âIt was good though, quick. I was distracted the whole time,â she sheepishly admitted. He gave her a feigned questionative look, clearly holding back a smirk. âYes, Jug, âcause of you,â she spilled. âI just had a lot of fun last night. Thank you for that,â she said, reaching from her desk to his so that she could give an affectionate squeeze to his his hand.
As he brought her hand up to his lips so he could kiss Bettyâs knuckles, Jughead grinned. âSo did I, babeââ
âOkay, class of involent criminals!â The teacher let out a shout, trying to avert all of the students attention to be on him, and cutting Jughead off in doing so. The boy hunched his shoulders, looking at Betty with a defeated frown. She silently giggled and put a finger up to her lips, telling him to keep quiet.
* * *
âHey,â Jughead threw a balled up piece of paper at his girlfriend to get her attention. She picked her head up from her book, looking at him. âLast night your mom said she knows my dad.â
Betty raised an eyebrow before saying anything. âShe did?â Jughead nodded and explained. âHow would that even be possible?â Now, Jughead shrugged, showing his similar amount of confusion. âIâd ask her, but my mother is my mother, and sheâd never voluntarily tell me about her past. Thatâs something Iâve learned over the years,â she snorted.
Jughead contemplated for a moment, before perching up. âLetâs go to my trailer. You could meet my dad, for one⌠and for two, we could ask him about it,â he suggested.
This took Betty by surprise, but she nodded her head and stood up. âOkay, you run to your locker, and Iâll run to mine. Iâll meet you at your motorcycle, sound good?â He nodded, and they split ways then.
Betty got to locker quickly, and retrieved everything she would need to go home after going to Jugheadâs trailer. She heard the same snickering coming from behind her that she heard from the new student that she collided with in the morning. Turning around, she saw that same boy standing with Malachi, the heir of the fucking Ghoulies. Snide comments started to come from the both of them, but for the moment, they were keeping their distance. When she wasnât responding to their disgusting flirtation, the words became more cruel and they insulted her in every way they could. Her stomach twisted nervously at everything they said.
Wanting to get away from the Ghoulie boy and their new apprentice, once her backpack was filled, she practically made a run for it. When she got outside, her boyfriend was already pulled around to the front of the building, waiting for her. âYou okay?â Jughead asked, noticing the way her free hand was clenched.
âYeah, of course,â Betty responded, faking a smile. She knew damn well that Jughead could see through it and was ready to interrogate her, but the way she was looking at him caused him to keep his mouth shut. When she was sure he wouldnât ask any question, she put the helmet he had for her on and climbed on the back of the motorcycle. âLetâs go meet your dad,â she said, more to herself, and then they were on their way.
When they got to the trailer park, Betty took of the helmet, fixed her pony tail, and breathed in the air. She was happy to be away from other people, but no one needed to know that. Looking at the trailer that Jughead lived in, she grinned to herself, being that this was the first time she was seeing his home. It made her happy for some reason⌠made her feel like their relationship was taking a step up.
âReady to go in?â Jughead asked, snapping her from her thoughts. Betty nodded, reaching for his hand. When they got inside, the boy yelled, âDad! Come here! I want you to meet Betty!â
There were sounds of shuffling and then out came an attractive, middle aged man in an infamous leather jacket, who resembled very much of his son, minus the fact that he had scruff and Jughead didnât. When he caught eye of Betty, his jaw gaped. âHoly shit. Your have got to be Aliceâs daughter,â he said. Instantly he realized how that probably was rude to just blurt that out without introduction. âIâm sorry. Hi,â he extended a hand. âIâm FP, Jugheadâs father obviously. Iâve heard a lot about you,â he smiled.
Betty returned that smile of course, but hers was more naturally jovial. âItâs nice to me you too, Mr. Jones,â she responded, and FP replied by insisting that she calls him by his first name. After a little bit of small, introductory talk, Betty curiously asked, âSo, FP, you know my mother?â Now Jughead has stepped forward, wanting to her the response to that.
FP reached for his collar, tugging it lightly. âUh, yeah. I used to know her.â From way that the two teenagers eyes were pleading for me, he sighed, caving in. âAli used to ride with us,â he said, looking down. âShe was never a real Serpent, but she knew the game, and played along.â He seemed a bit uncomfortable talking about it, like it ended badly, maybe?
Betty was more shocked than she was she found out her mother wanted to move to the Southside a few weeks ago. Alice Cooper? Riding with the Serpents? It almost didnât sound real, but Betty wanted to know more. âHow did she get into that?â
âWell, your mother, Fred Andrews, and I were like the three amigos growing up,â FP told her, grinning a bit at the memory of how close they all were. âI broke off though, following in my fatherâs footsteps, and one day after I left the Northside, I opened the door of my trailer and there she was,â he shrugged his shoulders. âShe didnât fit in around here, but man, the way she is? She made sure by the time that she left this place that she made a fucking imprint.â FP chuckled a bit, feeling reminiscent.
âWere you two, likeâ together?â Jughead asked, seeing his father talk this way about a woman was not very common.
FP sucked in a breath. âOnce upon a time, we were almost in love with each other, but we were never together.â Now looking at Betty, he smirked. âShe was quite the girl⌠not too nice though,â he laughed. âYou any nicer than your mother?â
âSheâs a fucking saint,â Jughead responded for her, nodding his head to emphasize. âOr a fucking angel,â he said. âMaybe both.â Betty smiled at the compliment, and leaned a bit into her boyfriendâs side.
âStay that way, honey. Youâll get farther in life,â FP told her, feeling like she already knew that. âWell if you two know all you need to know about Alice, Iâll give you two some time alone. Donât need me haggling you all night,â he joked. âTime to go to the Wyrm,â he said, patting his sonâs back as he walked passed the two.
Betty smiled. âThanks, FP,â she said generously. He nodded and was on his way. Once the door shut behind the Jones father, Betty turned to look at Jughead. âHoly crap,â she said, shocked.
Jughead put an arm around her, pulling her close as he led her to sit on the couch with him. He gazed at her, wondering how she was feeling and what she was thinking about what his father told them as she curled her feet up behind herself, leaning into him. She sighed, just getting lost in her thoughts for a moment.
Running a hand though her pony tail, he softly asked, âWhat are you thinking?â
Not looking at him, rather just staring ahead of her, Betty responded, âThat my motherâs a hypocrite, and that I actually have no clue who she is as a human being.â On the inside, she felt a bit conflicted. Jughead just sighed, wanting to respond and be helpful, but not knowing how. Betty looked at him, knowing what he was thinking himself and weakly smiled; he always wanted to make her so happy, and she loved him for that.
For a while, the couple just stayed on the couch. In that time, they both realized that laying with each other like this was somewhat of a safe place. Betty made a pact with herself that if anything goes wrong, this is where she wants to be.
After so long of simply lounging around, Betty got up to make them dinner. Unsurprisingly, she ended up make Jughead enough food to last him and his father through a whole entire week. They lacked home cooked meals, so this was a nice twist on their everyday lives. As she cooked, Jughead stood in the doorway, watching with a lingering grin on his lips.
While Betty cleaned the dishes she used, Jughead stood behind her, wrapped his arms around you. âI can clean the dishes, you know,â he said, resting his chin on her shoulder. âAlso, did you know food is the way to my heart?â He teased. Then he kissed her temple, trailing down to her cheek.
Betty put the dishes down, not caring since she was almost done anyway, sheâd rather kiss her boyfriend. Leaning against the kitchen counter, she grabbed onto his jacket, pulling him in so that their lips were clashed together. It started off slow, but eventually got pretty heavy. Passionately, they made out right then and there, against the counter. Somehow, Jugheadâs beanie was taken off in the midst of this, causing Betty to run her fingers through his beautiful black waves of hair while he kissed along her jaw and neck. One of his hands held her close to him, sporting her lower back while the other was held on the other side of her neck, keeping her in place. She closed her eyes as he sucked into the sensitive part of his neck, helping him slide his jacket off while her shoulder peered out of one side of her falling cardigan. As his hand slipped in between her blouse, touching her skin, hers went up the front of his, resting on his hips.
Just as Betty let out a moan of pleasure, they heard the door swing open. âJug, Iâm home!â FP called out, causing the two to jump back in fear, like all the wind was knocked out of them. Thankfully they were still clothed. For a moment, they just stood there, collecting themselves. FP walked into the kitchen, seeing both teenagers with bright red cheeks and Jugheadâs beanie and jacket on the floor. He wasnât dumb, so not wanting to embarrass them more, he said, âDamn, Jughead, you even take your hat off for her? You must really like this girl,â he patted him on the back nonchalantly and walked into his bedroom, not even waiting for a response.
Now Jughead was chuckling and so was Betty. Their cheeks were still red, thanking the heavens that FP didnât actually get to see anything. Then Betty walked forward, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend. âI should get going,â she said. Jughead had offered to drive her, but she insisted that sheâd be okay walking⌠although she was safest and happiest with him around she had a lot to think about with her mother and the way kids still treated her at school sometimes. She kissed him goodbye and was on her way.
* * *
On the walk home, Betty tried to figure out what she would say to her mother, but the looks people were giving her distracted her from that. She figured she was just overthinking it; she was actually almost sure that she was, but it just bothered her way more than she bothered to show. Sure, she didnât fit in, but sheâs never been the type to care. It was just the hateful eyes that got her riled up. Trying to ignore all that, she thought about Jughead, which always made her smile.
When she entered her apartment, she saw her mother sitting in the living room with a glass of cheap wine in her hand. Betty knew that she probably wouldnât be able to hold back from saying something tonight. âIâm home, Mom,â she said first.
âOut with that Serpent boy of yours?â Alice responded, sounding disapproving. It made Betty see red.
In an unaware state, Betty clenched her fist. âMom, I found something out tonight,â she said as she walked closer to her mother. âYou rode with the Serpents.â At that, Aliceâs head whipped around to look at her⌠pure horror. âIf you know the ropes, why are you so against me being with Jughead? Youâre the one who sent me to the school in the first place.â She crosses her arms.
âYou donât know what youâre talking about,â Alice spat, standing to be level with her daughter. âI sent you to this school because your father and I separated. We have no moneyââ
âBullshit,â Betty snorted, surprised at the audacity she had to curse at her mother. âYou couldâve kicked Dad out of the house. You were just fine coming here, until I find a boyfriend who just so happens to be one of your old friends son?â She was so frustrated. âIâm happy with Jug, Mom.â
Alice snorted. âPlease, Elizabeth. Youâre just trying to fit in in that school. Youâre nothing like the rest of them, youâre better. You could have a life set for you,â she said. âYouâre trying to ruin it though by becoming one of them.â
âWho says Iâm trying to become one of them?â Betty shot back. âJughead isnât trying to recruit me. I donât ride with them. Iâm just there! What is so bad about that?â
âBecause you arenât a Southsider, Betty. You arenât even a Northsider. Youâre Elizabeth Cooper, the perfect girl, with a life set out for her. You are not supposed to be falling into groups, trying to get along. You are supposed to be leading,â Alice said.
This is what Betty hated⌠the way her mother had planned her whole life out for her, yet gave her no say, or the way she never took Betty wants and needs into consideration. Also, thinking that Betty was actually stooping to levels of peer pressure and following was like a punch in the gut because she has never been a follower. Betty has and always will march to her own drum, no matter how hard it could be with the way people judged her. Shocked and offended by the way her mother was speaking, she scoffed and stormed off into her small bedroom, slamming the door on the way. She needed some alone time to cool down.
* * *
Betty was thankful that it was the weekend. She was also thankful that her mother had to go into work for a few hours. She took this time to take a relaxing bath and finish up some stuff for the Red and Black. Dressed in a lilac-colored sweater that was a size too big and a pair of gray leggings, Betty had to run some errands after she was finished with her morning activities. She was doing all of this to keep her mind off of unpleasant thoughts.
While she was out, she couldnât help but hear what people were saying, and immediately thinking it was about her; most of it was, but some of it wasnât. âWho the fuck is she?â Another one was, âDamn, that bitch should loosen that ponytail. Sheâll lose brain cells.â Her nails dug into her skin. âEw. She is so weird,â someone cackled. âWrong side of town, princess.â Bettyâs throat was starting to close up. âBet anyone could force a girl like that into the sheets.â No, no. âWhat is she doing here?â Enough was enough.
Betty didnât exactly know why everything was so prominent and stinging lately, but she couldnât take it. She dropped the stack of paper and the notebook she was about to buy right on the floor of the store, and ran out. It felt like she was gasping for a breath. Absentmindedly, she dialed Jugheadâs number and called. âI need you to come get me.â
Unsurprisingly, Jughead was there within .2 seconds with his fatherâs truck rather than the motorcycle. While he pulled the car up to where she told him to be, he saw her sitting on the curb with her ponytail half falling out and her face shoved in her hands. He didnât know what happened, but he wanted to kill whatever or whoever made her so upset.
He parked the vehicle and hopped out, running to his girlfriend. âWhatâs wrong, babe?â He asked softly, removing her hands from her face to find her red rimmed eyes. It didnât look like she had been crying, but more like she was holding back from doing so. âOkay, what happened?â Jughead spoke more sternly. âI will fucking end whoeverââ
âJug,â Betty cut him off with a quiet voice. Â âCan we just go back to the trailer, please?â Heâd never say no to her, so softening his eyes for her sake, he nodded and then they were on their way.
When they got to the trailer, Betty immediately sunk down on the couch, curling her legs under her. Jughead went to get them a blanket so they could cuddle up under it. The second he sat, she curled into his side.
âI donât know why Iâm not used to it,â Betty whispered, shoving her head in the crook of her boyfriendâs neck.
âUsed to what?â Jughead asked softly, stroking the hair that was now messy and out of a ponytail.
Betty let out a heavy breath. âEvery time someone says something⌠something, you know⌠not nice. I donât even know half the stuff people say is about me, but I always assume the worst,â she explained. âAnd today, it was just too much. The way my mom was last night is probably why Iâm so, like, short tempered or whatever today, but still,â she shrugged, not meeting his eyes. âI donât want to change, Juggie. My mom though, she thinks that Iâm with you only to fit in.â Her voice was starting to shake as she spoke. âBut Iââ
Jugheadâs heart was breaking for her. If he could make her life full of happiness, he would in an instant. âYou what, Betts?â He asked, pulling back so he could look her in the eye.
Mustering up words, she blubbered, âWell, for one, I am sick of being bothered by everything and holding it in all the time. And for two,â she said, now slower. âI love you, Jug.â This was the first time sheâs ever admitted that, both to herself and to him, but in all honesty, it was the truth. Betty Cooper was completely and utterly in love with Jughead Jones.
Jugheadâs eyes widened, and Betty nervously looked away. His heart started beating just as it did the first time he snatched a kiss from her. Not being able to speak because of the initial shock, he lifted her chin and kissed her as hard as he possibly could. She let out a surprised sound, but then melted into it. âI love you,â he managed to mumble into her mouth, causing each of them to smile through the kisses. Abruptly, out of nowhere, he pulled away. Something had clicked in his head and he needed to act on it right away. âIâll be right back,â he pecked her cheek, and ran to his fatherâs bedroom, leaving Betty alone and confused.
With a small smile from their proclamations of love and the kiss that came with it, Betty relaxed back into the cushion of the couch. She thought for a moment, realizing that she shouldnât be so bothered by others thoughts when she had someone who loved and cherished her by her side.
Jughead bursted out of his fatherâs bedroom then, holding something behind his back. âOkay, you said you donât want to change, right? But you hate how people talk and shit?â Betty nodded at Jughead questions. From behind his back, he pulled out a pink leather jacket with embroidered sky blue and yellow flowers on the back. âThis was my momâs,â he said, handing it to her. âI think itâll fit you perfectly,â he grinned at her shocked and baffled expression. âBefore she left⌠she was like you; always around, made her own path, never wanted to join the Serpents. She liked to be herself, but this made her feel more involved.â He sighed. âWhen she took Jellybean and left, she told me to give it to someone worthy of it, and well, thatâs you.â
Slowly, she took the jacket, inspecting it all around. Without a word, she placed it on her lap while she discarded her oversized sweater, revealing a plain white tank top. She put the leather jacket on, finding that it fit perfectly. Tugging at the sleeves, she bit back a grin. âJug, are you sure? It was your momâs.â
Jughead nodded, going to sit next to her again. âI said she told me to give it to someone worthy, didnât I?â Betty blushed at that. âYouâre who I want to have it. Plus, youâre the perfect person for it.â All of a sudden, Betty tackled him down into a big hug.
It wasnât just the fact that he gave her his motherâs jacket, it was the fact that he loved her for who she was, and was simply help in her boost her self confidence in such a cute way. âThank you,â she said into his neck. âYouâre the best.â
The rest of the day, Jughead and Betty stayed curled up on the couch or eating whatever the girl could muster up in the trailerâs small kitchen area. They exchanged âI love youâs, and kept each other smiling. Jughead knew that this girl was the best person he had ever came across, and he was grateful that his small gift to her was enough to cheer her up. Like heâs been saying from the start, he wants to keep her safe so⌠for a final nail in the coffin, he texted his Serpent friends to make sure one of them is always around in school to look out for her. No matter what was thrown at her, heâd go to all ends of the world for her, and she would with him in return.

Summary: Betty and Jughead, the male and female heirs of the Serpent throne had been keeping their relationship under wraps. What caused Betty to let the whole bar know of their relationship, and how far do they take it?
Word Count: 2073
Notes: Loved this request, tbh. I love Betty as a Serpent. (btw, my first time writing any bit of smut)
Betty Cooper was the Serpent Princess and Jughead Jones was the Serpent Prince. They were business partners and they were friends, and that was all, at least to other peopleâs eyes. There was a secret that the two of them were holding, and not a single person around them wouldâve ever suspected⌠not in a million years. Toni, Sweetpea, and Fangs, their three best friends simply thought they never hung out outside of their group hang outs. Alice Cooper and FP Jones, the two head Serpents in command, never saw anything more but a close friendship was between their children. The two didnât come off any other way.
But they were completely and utterly in love.
Theyâd been hiding their relationship for about a whole year. Knowing how people would react, they agreed to keep it solely between them. The praise the already receive being the offspring of their parents would increase to unhealthy and unwanted points. The Serpent Prince and the Serpent Princess? Well, everyone would think they were trying to take over before their time has come. They liked how it was, so they decided together to keep it a secret.
On the matter of acting skills though, Jughead and Betty were impeccable. In their group of five, Betty would talk about what boy was cute in the Southside with Toni, while Jughead sat a few feet away. Jughead would do the same thing with Fangs and Sweetpea, listing out all of the hot girls on this side of town. Not once did Betty or Jughead even flinch hearing their lover talk about who theyâd âwantâ to hook up with, mostly because they had trust between them. They never got jealous because no matter how much theyâd talk and gossip with their friends, those two would never act on it.
When someone stepped a bit too close though, those boundaries Jughead and Betty had were on the brink of breaking, just like they were doing in this very moment.

Chapters: 1Â 2 3
What threw Jughead off the most about Betty Cooper was how flirtatious and straightforward she was.
Jughead has a reputation to maintain, and in the middle of class, she loved doing everything that she could to make him weak in the knees. His assigned seat was in the row behind her, one seat to the left. Only creating a show for him, sheâs slid the bottom of her skirt up, not all the way, but right on the brink of it becoming very inappropriate. Jughead would tense up everytime shed wiggle back in the seat, arching her back out from him to see better.
Jughead batted his eyes down, not wanting to get a fucking boner in the middle of class, which was all that was running through his mind. As the teacher went on, Jughead started to think that Betty was evil. It was very unkind doing what she was doing to him right now⌠his head was literally spinning. Tapping his foot, he looked at his hands the whole time, only glancing up every few seconds to see a smirk on the Bettyâs face.
Class ended and the teacher bolted out like he always does. Jughead just stayed seated, eyeing Betty as she packed her notebook up into her backpack, noting that she was going slower than needed. Biting down on his lip, he waited until everyone else left before stauntering to her. Unsurprisingly though, she tried to leave class without a word.
Before Betty left, Jughead pulled her back and shut the door so it was only the two of them. âYou are not leaving right now, babe,â he growled, shoving her against the chalkboard. He kissed her fervently, and of course, she responded, slipping his hands under his leather jacket and into the waistline of his jeans; she knew that turned him on. He slid his hand around the back of her neck, pulling her as close as possible while the other rested on her waist.
Breaking them from their moment, the bell rang. Betty pulled back with a squeal, and unsurprisingly, Jughead tried to follow her lips. She gave him one more quick kiss and then said, âI have english.â She slipped away from him and collected her things.
âAnd you say Iâm the asshole,â Jughead grumbled at the loss of her mouth on his, making Betty laugh. âCan I walk with you today? Just to this next class?â He asked, watching her lift her heavy backpack with a smirk. It was filled to the rim with books she didnât even need, which always made him chuckle.
Betty was about to walk out without him, but she stopped with her fingers curling around the door handle. âYou donât care if people see us?â She asked, her voice softening. Theyâve been trying to keep their sneaking around on the low because they didnât want to have to deal with the backlash of their friends. After Homecoming night, they really kept their social interaction to a minimum, also shutting any questions down on why they went together so that no one would expect anything. In a few days time it was practically forgot about by the other students, and now that itâs been three weeks since, it was like it never happened.
Jughead walked forward, hands in his pockets. âI donât give a fuck, to be honest,â he shrugged. Once close enough, he straightened out her skirt, and lowered his mouth do be by her ear. âI donât want any pervert peeking at you,â he whispered possessively, feeling Betty shutter under his touch. They grinned at each other, Betty giggled a bit.
Together, the opened the door and walked out into the hallway. Some people noticed the way their bodies were so close together as they walked, others considered it as nothing, but still, eyes were on them. Serpent Prince, Jughead Jones looked like he was actually being kind to none other than the perfect girl next door, Betty Cooper, and boy, it was enough to create a stir. People would whisper until Jugheadâs threatening glances would silence them, causing Betty to bite her lip in laughter. Any reaction that he got from her made him smile, so he was biting his back too.
When they got to her class, which was next to his, she turned to him, saying, âYou really donât care what anyone thinks right now?â Jughead shook his head to that, feeling fed up with it. Betty grinned before rushingly grabbing his jacket and pulling him down for a kiss. Jughead let out a surprised sound but immediately brought his hand to her cheek, like it was a habit (which it was). With a light smile on both of their lips, they separated. âSee you later, Juggie,â she said, and with that she was gone.
Everyone was staring with wide eyes. That was practically seeing two worlds collide, and no one knew how to react. Seeing Jugheadâs reaction awed the students out as well, he was just standing there, starstruck. He was never prepared for whatever she was about to do, and honestly, he was loving it; she was a thrill that he needed. Collecting himself when the stilled movement of the other students went into motion again, he let out sign, followed by a cheeky grin. âStop fucking looking at me,â he announced to the nosey teenagers in the hallway, snickering when they obliged.
* * *
Lunchtime. Jughead was sitting as his table with two of his friends, Sweetpea and Toni. They heard about the whispers of people saying he was seen kissing Betty Cooper, but every time theyâd ask a question, heâd said, âWhy do you care?â It shouldnât matter so much as to who he was with.
Everything was going smoothly until Chuck Clayton, Reggie Mantle, and Archie Andrews came stalking over to them in their Riverdale varsity jackets. He let out a frustrated grunt, knowing what was coming. Then he stood up first, meeting them with a heavy gaze.
All three townie boys crossed their arms, acting intimidating. âWhat do you think your doing with Betty Cooper? Trying get in her pants or something?â Chuck spat, sizing Jughead up and down.
Jughead snorted, shaking his head and looking down. âMaybe you should mind your own business,â he suggested cheekily, slouching back to show he was not afraid of them.
âDo you know who Betty is, Jones? Do you know anything about her? Or are you just trying to take advantage of her? She is naive, but you probably know that,â Archie said, acting he knew everything.
Jughead thought about the first time he snuck to her house, climbing up the latter into her room. He thought about their first kiss. He thought about the sounds of her parents fighting from the floor beneath them and how he found about the scars that dig into her palms. Sheâs not perfect, but he loved her flaws. There was no doubt in his mind that knew Betty Cooper. These guys were just fucking idiots.
Pushing down the sentimental thoughts, he brought up the other matter at hand. âWait, wait,â Jughead snorted. âYou think sheâs naive?â His eyebrows were raised high. âClearly, Archibald, youâre the one who knows nothingââ He got cut off but a punch to the jaw. To that, he laughed and spit some blood. Within a second, the two of them were full on brawling. He was aware of Sweetpea shooting up and fending off Chuck for him, while Fangs came into the cafe and jumped in with Reggie.
Jughead and Archie were really going at it though. They were strictly making head shots for whatever reason. Jughead was pissed though, he knows his girl and this guy wants to waltz in acting like he knows her better? No way.
By the time Betty was in the cafeteria, blood was dripping down their faces, but they hadnât stopped. Toni, Kevin, and Veronica were trying to break it up, but nothing worked. She ran to where her friends and Toni were. âWhatâs going on? What is going on?â She was frantic.
âArchie said something to Jughead about you,â Kevin told her. âNothingâs going on between you two though, correct?â He asked with raised eyebrows. âSo it shouldnât matter?â
Toni fumed, letting out a disgruntled yell. âThat doesnât matter right now, Kevin. They wonât stop,â she shouted. âItâs like Jug canât even hear me.â
The blonde stepped forward, inching herself closer to the scene. âJughead!â Betty squealed. As she had hoped, he came to an abrupt stop, turning his gaze to her and stepping back. Every single person in the cafeteria stood and stared with dropped jaws. Jughead Jones has never responded to someone so easily. Before Archie could swing again, Betty stepped in between them. âEnough,â she said sternly.
Jughead pulled Fangs and Sweetpea back. âQuit, guys,â he ordered, and they stopped.
Betty pulled the boy down, inspecting his face. His eye was swelling up and bleeding, as well as his mouth. âYou okay?â He nodded, grinning at her. Now with crossed arms, she turned to the boy from her side of town. âWhat do you think you guys are doing coming after him like that?â
âHey,â Jughead said softly, putting a hand on her a shoulder. He didnât want her to fight with her own friends. From the way she raised her hand to him and the look she was shooting, he was sure that she wouldnât listen to him, so with a sigh, he stepped back to let her do her thing. He figured whatever sheâd say couldnât be too harmful.
Betty stepped toward Archie, Reggie, and Chuck. âExplain to me what the hell you think you were doing?â Her face was incredulous, showing she wasnât gonna take what they had to say.
âWeâre looking out for you, Betty,â Chuck said, but before she could say something to that, one of the others spoke up.
âWhyâs everyone going around saying you were locking lips with snake boy?â Reggie raised his eyebrow, shooting a disgusted look towards Jughead.
âBecause I was,â Betty spat. âJust leave it alone. You donât make my choices for me.â The fire in her voice and her eyes showed how mad she was, and none of the townies knew how to handle it.
Archie scoffed. âFor you to waste your time on a piece of trash who doesnât know a single thing about you? You have some bad boy fantasy or something that we donât know about?â He was just as annoyed as she was everyone saw it. âHeâs a fucking lowlife.â
âFuck you, asshole,â Betty snapped back. She could be feisty went in an argument, but she never responded to someone like that. Archie tried to open his mouth again, but she repeated her words more sternly. âFuck you, Archie.â She snarled at him, not even able to cackle at his appalled expression.
This was the first time that Bettyâs surprising words gave Jughead a sense of pride. As she turned towards him, his amused and heartfelt smirk never faltered. She grabbed his hand and started pulling him away with her, but he quickly brought her back in, enrapturing her in a long, passionate kiss. Both of their hands were cupping each otherâs faces, feeling the heat of their cheeks. His lips tasted like sweat, blood, and cigarettes, but from the way she melted into it, it was clear she didnât mind. âI might just be in love with you,â Jughead mumbled as they split, still breathing into each other.
Now it was Bettyâs turn to be caught off guard. A smile graced her lips. âI think I love you too,â she whispered, realizing that she meant it. âNow let me clean your face up. Youâre bloody,â she scrunched her nose and pulled him away.
They didnât bother turning around to look at the shocked faces of Betty or Jugheadâs friends, or even the other students. None of it was worth it, they didnât matter right now.
* * *
It was ten oâclock. Jughead was laying in the storage room atop of his big comforter and underneath a quilt he stole from a teacherâs room. There was a cigarette between his lips as he thought about the events of the day. That didnât last very long though because all of a sudden, the door swung open. âGod, what the fuck?â He breathed out, feeling his heart race. It was Betty, which again, should not surprise him⌠she always came out of nowhere. âHowâd you know I was here?â He asked, scooting over so she could lay down with him.
âSaw your bike still parked outside,â Betty responded, snuggling up to him, kissing his jaw as she did so.
âYou came all the way from the other side of town, what are you doing here?â Jughead asked curiously, wrapping an arm around her waist as he tilted his head up to exhale some smoke. Directly after that he put the cigarette out so he could face her.
Betty paused before responding. âI missed you and I wanted to check on your face,â she said, thinking about her response before saying it. Right away, Jughead pulled back, knowing she was holding something in. He didnât have to say anything before she explained. âArchie was knocking on my door, my mom was yelling, V and Kev wouldnât stop calling⌠so I left to come find you.â Her voice was a bit bashful.
Jughead sighed and kissed her forehead. In reality, he understood why her friends were so skeptical, but he wished they werenât acting this way towards her. It truly made him want to punch someone again, but he knew that wouldnât be wise. âYou okay?â He stroked her hair. In that moment, he wondered when he got so soft⌠and how he didnât mind it. But, like most, it all started with Elizabeth Cooper.
âYeah, like I said, I missed you,â she whispered, and Jughead returned the words as she moved her lips to from his jaw to his neck. âMind if I just stay here with you tonight?â Betty asked between kisses, interlacing their legs together.
Pulling her directly on top of him, Jughead smirked. âI donât mind at all, princess,â she brought his lips to hers, sliding his hands under her t-shirt to rest on her lower back. Betty grinned into his mouth.
Throughout the night, they each came to the conclusion that they made each other happier than anyone ever has.  The snarky comments, the surprises, the teasing⌠they wanted all of it and more. Eventually their friends would accept the relationship and people would adjust; they were going to face whatever was thrown at them with the strength that only they could give to each other.

Everyone knew about Jughead and Betty now⌠literally everyone. They werenât shy about their relationship either, especially now that they felt free to show each other off and flaunt their feelings around for everyone to see. Theyâd go to Popâs or the Bijou at times that they knew other teenagers would be around, not caring who saw them.
Monday morning, since Bettyâs parents were still out of town and she was still sleeping at her boyfriendâs, Jughead took her to school on his motorcycle with his small trail of Serpents, including JB, behind them. Like always, Betty squealed and giggled as he drove through the streets of Riverdale, loving each detailed feeling that the speed gave, like the the pressure of wind and the zooming sound in her ears. She felt the vibration of Jughead laughing at her through his back, so she wrapped her arms around him tighter as a way to teasingly shut him up.
They pulled in first, as Jughead always did. He hopped off first, and then assisted his girlfriend who had crazy helmet hair. âOh, gosh,â Betty tried to soothe it out. âIs it bad? Is it really bad?â She raked through the knots.
âYou always look hot to me, baby,â Jughead said, holding back his laughter. Betty simply squealed in response, and thatâs when he realized, sheâs calmed down with the âthank youâs. They were so caught up in such craziness these past few days that he didnât notice how strong she was, and how it was affecting her in all sorts of ways. He bit his tongue at the sudden realization, holding back a proud smile. For real, he was in public⌠he still had a reputation to maintain.
