Listen I have a very weird theory that I haven't seen anyone else talk about in regards to what Ralsei is... I think his object is a drawing of the monster form Kris wants to have. Like the reason for the missing green crayon is because they would draw Ralsei alot and his outfit is mostly green, so they would run out of green crayons. The reason his horns aren't white is because Kris wore red horns, them being pink could be because whatever red crayon Kris used showed up more pink on paper. He has glasses because Kris wanted to emulate Toriel. The He/Him pronouns could be because at the time of his creation Kris was using those pronouns. Even his name being an anagram for Asriel makes sense if we go with Kris is trying to be like their family. As for the reason he ended up in the storage closet it could be that the last drawing Kris ever made of him was left there, perhaps they were being made fun of for drawing Ralsei and decided to hide in the storage closet leaving his drawing there and never creating another. Then the exposure to castle towns fountain allowed him to separate from that drawing, or there could also be multiple drawings of him scattered around the town and we're seeing different versions of him, this part is what I'm most iffy on. With his dialouge claiming he travled from castle town when seeing a dark fountain appear implys that he is just one being, if anyone more immersed in the lore could provide a better reason I'd love to hear it. Yeah there are probably lots of holes you can poke in this theory and someone else has probably made all of these connections before me. But since chapter 5 is coming up I wanted to dip my toes into a fandom I love but haven't really participated in... I hope anyone who reads this finds it interesting :) and if someone has made a theory like this please tell me. I'm only really active on tumblr and a little bit of youtube so places like twitter and reddit are massive blind spots for me when it comes to theories.
