Okay so I have something to say and itâs maybe probably in the âunpopular opinionâ category but hey, if you canât vent feelings on your blog, where can you vent em.

Iâve been seeing a lot of peopleâs poses with Colin from the Paris con in my explore tab on Insta. And I have weird feelings about them. Here goes.
LikeâŚokay I get that asking for CS poses is popular. Totally get that. But some of these poses are super intimate and justâŚthey make ME feel uncomfortable just seeing the photo, nevermind how Colin maybe felt about doing it.
Heâs MARRIED and these âforeheads touchingâ kinda pics just feel likeâŚa no go to me? (Okay maybe the fact that I have a boyfriend of 5 years who is already not Colinâs biggest fan influences that a little. I respect him and my relationship enough to know doing a pose like that with someone heâs well aware I have the hots for would hurt him, so I just wouldnât do it, period).
But aside from that. Back to Colin. Cos againâŚCOLIN. HAS. A. WIFE. And I canât help but put myself in the position of a wife seeing a photo like this of her husband posing with some girl who flails over how hot he is. Now I know sheâs an extremely good sport and Colin has said she takes his fangirls in good humor, and they seem super secure as a couple, have been together for almost 20 years etc. But still.
I feel like asking for this or any other particularly âintimateâ pose is really disrespectful to Helen, nevermind Colin too. Youâre not posing with Killian, youâre posing with Colin. Married Colin. Colin who is a real human being in a real committed relationship.
I know the idea of having your own super swoonworthy photo of you and Colin in a CS pose is awesome but Jen was his coworker and friend and they had a great professional relationship. Heâs comfortable around her. Getting that close and intimate with her is part of his job. Itâs scripted. He doesnât know you. Heâs not working with you (technically). He doesnât even have to be at that con. This pose you want him to recreate with you isnât scripted. He isnât Killian. Heâs Colin.
Yes, I know some of you are possibly rolling your eyes and saying âif he didnât wanna do it, he wouldnâtâ and okay, perhaps he would possibly just say no or try to alter the pose somehow if he was super unhappy about it, yeah. But at the same time, he may grin and bear it for the sake of making fans happy. And why would you want to be someone who would put him in that position of feeling strongarmed into doing something that could possibly make him uncomfortable? Why would you do that to an actor you love and respect?
Some of you are maybe taking the âwell heâs being paidâ route with it. Heâs being paid to be there, yes. Itâs an optional extension of his job. He gets a pretty penny for attending. That doesnât, however, entitle people to do as they please and disregard his feelings and comfort zone. See below for continued discussion of âheâs human, not a dollâ. I donât give a ratâs ass if heâs being paid a billion fucking dollars to be there, he still deserves to be treated fairly and receive basic human decency in return for his optional attendance.
For meâŚthis whole âintimate posesâ thing crosses boundaries. I feel like some people somehow dehumanize him (and celebs in general tbh), treating him like a living doll that they can say and do what they want to.
Colin O'Donoghue deserves more respect than that. Heâs got a new baby at home yet heâs made every effort to travel across the world so as not to let his fans down. And heâs thanked how? By people putting him in positions that could very likely make him uncomfortable. Come on, people.
