I got engaged this year. When I was really into ouat back in the 2010s, I was going through some of the toughest times in my life. It was my comfort show and Emma Swan was so important to me because I really saw myself in her and I believed I could have a happy beginning too.

Just noticed Emma’s caressing where Killian got cut with Excalibur 😭 like she can’t believe that her true love died and came back because, according to Zeus, that’s where he belonged... alive and well with her

Hmm I see your point. You're not wrong, the dress doesn't seem like something that would be Emma's choice. On the other hand, apparently they have put some thoughts into the choice of the dress and did not just randomly copy it. Plus, it does have a nice nod to Killian being a pirate, IDK if you knew it, but the Prince of Monaco whom Hollywood star Grace Kelly married in the dress is from the Grimaldi family, and centuries ago those were - you guessed it - pirates!

i have to be honest, i’m a little upset with the way the show tried to do the parallels between these two ships

the one that always bothered me was the whole “i will find you, hook, i will always find you” bit when she’s going to the underworld - don’t get me wrong, i found it sweet and aww she’s going for him, i love it but i do have two problems with it:

first of all, the use of “hook”, like i get it, they probably had it like that for promo use but it is kinda ooc for emma to call him hook like that, she’d call him killian, killian is the man who died for her and her family and the man who loves her and tbh i think that whoever the promo concerns will know that she means hook if you have her say killian ok ?

second of all, the use of that quote, i get it, it’s her parent’s phrase and she’s following their lead from the heart split to the quote but it sounds so cheap in that moment, idk it doesn’t sound right. now, there’s a whole other quote that they could have used that she’d know about bc our boy killian said it to someone close to emma about emma and that is *drum roll* “i’d go to the end of the world for her, or time” YES that would be a sentence that they could have her say, a more subtle nod instead of full-on copy, they could have had her say something along the lines of that and even add that snowing bit if that’s what they wanted, something like idk “i’m going to the end of the world for you and i will find you, always” idk i suck but something like that !!! not cheap copy

now if there’s a parallel that they should have used from snowing that i’m still very upset they didn’t is the wedding ... see where i’m getting at ?

snow and charming got married by lancelot so that david’s mother could see him marry before she died, now don’t you think that emma and killian deserved the same chance ? for all they knew at one point, killian wasn’t going to go back so why not that parallel ?

they could have had it like after the whole ambrosia failure bit, yes i know the plot wouldn’t quite let that happen and i wouldn’t have traded the elevator scene for anything bc that was beautiful af BUT i do think that should have happened at some point

and if we’re wanting to keep it all as is, i have a solution .... prepare yourselves: killian marries them at emma’s request on the elevator part and the ring is liam’s ring, the one around her neck, bc the marriage would be for them not for her family and then she could have told mom and dad about it and THEN when killian comes back, they’d have their wedding as the show showed them bc snowing had it the same way too ( tho i do have another rant about season 6 but ya know for later )

ok i also paused midway while writing this to check on their parallels bc i knew there was one where snowing “took” from captainswan which was the “as you wish” on that sapling flashback and omg apparently there are so many more !! ( this is the video i watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJPZaJbyaCU ) and now i’m just extra pissed bc there are so many good ones and like subtle ones !! why did they have to give us the cheap “i will always find you” parallel ??
