🌻 THE ART HOE CAS CHALLENGE 🌻 ️

i’ve been meaning to make a CAS challenge for a while now, but I wasn’t sure what to do; so this is based off an assignment I got for film school!

🌻 THE CHALLENGE 🌻

making a sim in CAS based on a painting. this is a 15 day challenge and each day will be assigned a different painting. the idea is to take inspiration from the painting to create your sim: be it the colour palette, the style, the feeling the painting gives you, whatever! go wild! just don’t cut your ear off!

day 01: starry night, vincent van gogh

day 05: impression, sunrise, claude monet

day 06: evening, red tree, piet mondrian

day 10: american gothic, grant wood 

day 11: the sisters, margaret keane

day 12: mick jagger 143, andy warhol

BUILD CHEATS I USE

bb.moveobjects: Enables you to place items off the grid. I use this along with the ‘ALT’ key when placing objects

bb.showhiddenobjects: Shows debug items

bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement: Unlocks career items

‘Shift + ]’ and ‘Shift + [’: Increase and decrease object sizes (I rarely use this cheat)

ROOM SIZE 

The only thing that differentiates a big house to a small house is the sizes of each room and the amount of rooms

When building a house, I usually have the front door lead into the living room

I place the front door as well as windows wherever I like (you can always move them later)

FURNITURE SPACING

I like to place basic items that go in each room to make sure I have space for everything

If there isn’t enough space for the furniture, make the room bigger! :)

Since this is a house for a large number of sims, I’ve used a 3 seater couch as well as a 2 seater

I like my staircases to be in the living room but you can also make a separate room for it

The next thing I do is add on another room for the kitchen/dining 

I used an arch way instead of a door but a door works as well 

I like my dining room to be in the same room as the kitchen but you can also separate the two rooms

FURNITURE SIZES 

Similar to the living room couches, you’d most likely pick a large dining table to be able to seat all the sims living in the house

Again, if there isn’t enough space for the furniture, make the room bigger (: 

DECORATING 

The most important thing is to get the sizing and basic furniture (couches, dining tables etc) down before you start decorating 

If you’re anything like me, you probably want to start adding as much clutter as possible but if you do that first, you’ll find you don’t have any space for the important stuff 

When everything has it’s place, begin decorating and filling up any extra space you don’t like

We are appalled by President Trump’s tweets about banning transgender people from military service. There are an estimated 15,000 transgender people already working in the Department of Defense, putting their lives on the line to protect our nation and its values. Those values do not include the heartlessness exhibited by Mr. Trump this morning. Discrimination has no place in our government, in our workplaces, our schools, or anywhere else in our lives.

While it’s still unclear what the actual policy ramifications of these tweets will be, we recommend keeping up with (and, if you can, donating to) the ACLU and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund. 

You can also directly tell the president how unacceptable his attack on American servicepersons is by using this form provided by the @transgenderfreedomproject.

We know there will be plenty of conversation about this on Tumblr in the coming days, and we urge you to take this moment to support and educate each other in whatever ways you can. As mentioned in my last cc post, I’m planning on sharing Johnny Zest’s trailer. It’s on the Agave Abode plot in Oasis Springs. It’s quite expensive for its size (something like 47k) but that’s because I cluttered and landscaped the befuggles out of it (as I always do). There’s quite a bit of cc but I think it’s manageable. I’ll start making a list of it all tomorrow.

(I have started a list of cc for Newold Arts, as promised. It will take longer because it’s so large.)

I’m slowly going to build this whole neighbourhood. I’ve done it in the past so I have some ideas, but I want to start over (I used the shell of Johnny’s trailer I made before for this one). I don’t know why, but it’s probably my favourite neighbourhood in the game (not that I’ve played in all of them yet). Johnny’s trailer is going to set the tone for the rest of the lots.
