".... What?" His eyes widen at this proposition. There's no way... "D-do you mean-"

"That little accident with your magic. I can make it all go away." The voice drawled in a purr through the line, still unnervingly clear. "Think of it as... A downpayment on your services. I help you, give you your dreams, and all you have to do is follow the rules."

God it was tempting. His thoughts stretched out ahead, miles and miles of screaming DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DO NOT overshadowed by the promise of a better life, the promise of that stupid ugly mistake ruining everything simply being removed. This seemed too good to be true, but...

What choice do I have?

"Alright. I accept."

He felt a pang of hesitation, practically feeling the sinister grin on the other side.

"Pleasure doing business with you, White."

"Spamton. Just.. Spamton."

"Very well. One final thing, before we proceed."

A pause.

"Would you like to forget your sin?"

That's... a tricky one. If the guilt is gone, what's there to stop it from happening again? All it would take is... One outburst, one second of weakness. If he was to forget what he'd done, would he still tread with the same caution?

That guilt, however, had been gnawing at him ever since. Did he really want to keep living with it? Could he keep living with it, this weight on his shoulders, the grief he would never be able to share?

Though, it wasn't as though he could before, was it? He wasn't an Addison anymore, just an outcast weirdo with a dark smear on any credibility he'd ever have attained alone. The only friend he'd ever had amongst his own, lost to the depths of the city, buried well below the junk code, frozen in time.

"Yes."

Coward. You fucking coward.

"Understood."
