Attina looked over to Kaelin through the corners of her eyes, offering a small smile as it registered. He wasnât screaming, doubting it, or calling her a liar. She didnât expect him to call her a liar, but seeing him take it this well was⌠unbelievable. It truly was. She didnât understand how he could be so accepting. She disappeared now thirty years and he still came looking for her. A princess moment joined by a motherâs dream. Elizabeth would have her father in her life. Though the little one never voiced a question as to why she didnât have a dad, it wouldnât hurt to have a father figure, especially if the figure was Kaelin. Attina knew he would be a wonderful father when the time did come.
"Yes," she smiled against his lips before kissing him back. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she stood up on her toes to better return the kiss. She hummed a soft, quick, happy note as the kiss broke after a while and smiled to him. "She already seems to love you- but how could she not?" Her brow rose in a teasing manner. "She⌠doesnât know though," her tone growing a bit more serious, "I donât want to overwhelm her. I didnât want to overwhelm you either. I just⌠Iâve been waiting to tell you for so long. I thought I was trapped here, then I started finding my sistersâŚ" she trailed off and sighed. "Youâll love it here Kae. I know you will. Itâs peaceful, hardly any bad souls, and a great place to raise children. I hated it for so long but, you get use to it." She smiled before placing a ghost of a kiss on his lips. "Iâm so glad youâre here."
Kaelin was recalling the way the little girl looked up at him, he could see Attina mirrored in the young child so easily now that he knew. Even her mannerisms reminded him of her, the way she moved and talked. But then- now that he thought about it. Without even knowing he remembered the way her eyes were nearly identical to his in color. It made much more sense now. If she was his... He was silently thankful for whatever kept her this age. He would have hated himself for not finding them sooner whether he had the choice to or not. He'd been searching for the majority of the time they'd been gone. Travelling, gathering information. Until he'd found them. It had taken him so long, for 28 years he'd been going on nothing. Just visiting places he thought Attina had been. Now- Now he'd found her after a lead from someone in a land called The Enchanted Forest.
"I hope she does... I hope she doesn't hate me for not being there... I tried, I-I've been searching for you...." He said softly. She was young still, though. Something was strange about that but he was glad. She wasn't that old, he'd still get to see her grow up. That was the one good thing about whatever had happened. He hadn't missed his daughter growing up. His daughter. That still was such a strange thing to say. Most parents had 9 months to prepare, but here she was... and here was his beautiful fiance. He didn't mind though, no matter what happened now, he had them. And he would stay by their side through anything. "I'm glad too, I'm not leaving you again. Anywhere you go- I go. We'll do this as a team." He smiled. "My beautiful Attina." He said softly and kissed her briefly yet again. It'd been too long, he wanted to kiss her enough to make up for those years they'd been apart.
