of  all  the  stupid  goddamn  bullshit  luck  in  the  world….of  course  the  first  thing  that  would  happen  upon  getting  back  would  be  meeting  a  very  hungry  newbie  vampire.  of  course  it  would  try  to  make  a  nice  little  snack  out  of  him.  why  the  fuck  wouldn’t  it  ?  but  god,  he  just  didn’t  have  the  time  right  now  to  mediate  or  have  some  sweet  little  come  to  the  light  moment.  hence  the  greying  corpse  at  his  feet  (  god  it  was  always  so  strange  to  see  the  life  bleed  from  them  like  that  ).  poor  son  of  a  bitch.  but  he  was  on  a  mission  —-  funerals  for  the  damned  be  fucked.  without  giving  it  much  thought,  he  began  dragging  the  body  through  the  woods  —–  to  somewhere  a  little  less  inconspicuous.  he’d  kick  some  dirt  and  leaves  on  it  and  call  it  a  day.  find  his  kids.  pretend  this  obnoxious  little  detour  through  the  forests  of  mckinley  never  happened.  that  was  the  plan  at  least…..fucking  footsteps.  jesus  fucking  christ,  really  ?   a   sigh.  he  dropped  the  body.  looked  up  at  the  person  approaching.  “  yeah….this  is  exactly  what  it  looks  like.  “

“Oh goody. Cashmeire sweater wearing dads who think they’re kids are so much better than anyone else’s because they’ve got a trust fund.” Damon’s kids also had trust funds, but his kids weren’t assholes. Well – they could be, but they were his assholes. The famous Damon Salvatore smirk graces his lips as one dares to reach out, as if he was trying to adjust Damon’s clothing to try and what? Intimidate him? “You have three seconds to remove your hands, and in those three seconds you can be incredibly grateful that I’m even giving you those.” Damon was human, yes. But he was still very much skilled in fighting and hunting, not that these guys screamed anything other than stupid. “One….” Nothing, “Two….” And just as he was about to say three, the other backed off. “Good choice, didn’t wanna ruin that fake tan of yours.” Damon claps a hand on the others shoulder before he walks off. @sanguishqsstarters​

“Hey, ain’t nothing wrong with a trust fund kid,” Tyler joked at the older man’s insult, smirking as he watched him handle the situation with more even-tempered patience than he could have ever personally managed. It wasn’t a virtue that the universe had seen fit to bless him with so he was always impressed by anyone that did have it. Tyler could practically feel the self-satisfied arrogance of the man in front of him and he raised an eyebrow in interest when the man that had been harassing him finally left. “You owe somebody some money or something?” Tyler asked, arms crossed firmly over his chest.

“So here’s the thing,” Elena began. “It’s been 20 years from now in the future and I don’t remember too much about this time in my life. Well, besides the mourning and that’s more normal then not so– fill me in on what’s going on with you and I’ll try to figure out where I could help.” Future knowledge must come in handy, right? Elena was happy to fill in the gaps. 

Tyler couldn’t help but smirk at the woman in front of him, shrugging at her question. He was used to the future kids being a little bit odd, but this lady was definitely more out there than most. “Uh, Tyler Lockwood? All around fuck up, boyfriend to Jeremy but not for lack of trying on the proposal thing. Expectant father, new hybrid. Should I go on?” 

Her baby. There he was. All grown up, a young man in his own accord. Carol so PROUD of who he had managed to become in spite of Carol’s own subpar parenting and Richard’s brand of terrible. She loved him so entirely– her heart felt ready to burst at the sight of him. She was by his side in an instant, vamp speed all the way— a whole conversation they needed to have but Carol couldn’t let it wait because she needed to be holding him more then she needed air to breath— literally. Her arms slung around him in a tight embrace, remembering the time in their lives when he had been smaller then her and now he loomed so TALL— “Fuck off Betty!” She yelled to the woman she was still tempted to eat. “Hi baby.” This wasn’t entirely how she had seen this going but well, Carol had never been known for patient and vampirism hadn’t helped that. “We should talk yeah?”

Tyler was too stunned to fight off her embrace, despite the fact that every single cell in his body was screaming at him to figure out how in the hell she was standing in front of him. The fact that she sped to his side with inhuman velocity only confirmed what he knew: she was a vampire, just like him. Which meant that she had never been dead at all. Where in the hell had she been for the last two years while he had been suffering without her, while had mourned her? Who the fuck did they bury in that grave? “Hi, Mom,” he answered, his voice cold and distant as he pulled back. “I don’t think we need to talk at all. I think that you have some explaining to do. Like, now.” 

She was beginning to think she should have stayed in Hell, away from everyone because all she seemed to do now was prove that Hell was where she truly belonged. She stayed a distance away from Tyler, knowing that he was newly transitioned and it didn’t really even matter how much distance she put between them. But she needed to get this out, he just so happened to be the person she ran into first. So, ignoring the obvious fear that was there, she spoke up. “Cade just… possessed me and tried to hurt Stefan but Bonnie got in the way and now –” She bit at her cheek, eyes not meeting his. “I hurt Bonnie. Bad.”

Every single part of him wanted to fix this for Vicki. If he was honest with himself, he blamed himself somewhat for her death. While he hadn’t been close by when it happened, hadn’t been the one to hold the stake...maybe if he had just been able to be a better guy back then, she wouldn’t have fallen prey of Damon’s advances. Maybe she would have been able to be safe under his protection, his parents be damned. “Okay,” he said slowly, trying to process what this meant. “But Bonnie’s okay now? And Stefan, too, right?” They had to be okay. Jeremy couldn’t lose anyone else. Hell, Tyler couldn’t either. “Vick, we gotta get you away from this Cade guy.” 

The god was taken aback by Tyler’s words. Chronos can understand that most didn’t know who he was but this was a new level of disrespect. “I don’t have any hard on for Klaus.” Chronos replied indignantly. “So what if he has a chisled jaw and piercing emerald eyes, I couldn’t care less for the man.” Chronos sighed. “Besides I only love one maiden from afar and her name is Caroline Forbes. One day we will wed and have children.” He said with a dreamy sigh. “It’s only a matter of time.”

Tyler had to laugh at the man in front of him’s refusal to admit that he wasn’t obsessed with his sire when it was obvious that the opposite was true. “Chiseled? Piercing? Yeah, you’re right, dude. You’re totally hard-on free.” The eyeroll that accompanied the words was over-exaggerated and he nearly groaned with disapproval when he mentioned Caroline. “Okay, bro, I’m going to do you a favor. The only person with a shot in hell at that kind of fate is Stefan Salvatore so you might want to give up on that particular pipe dream before you get your wittle heart broken.”
