I see leadership as necessary characteristic in an organization and more importantly in life in general. I can't imagine a world where leadership is frowned upon or in this case, not overemphasized and therefore not as important. regarding the quotes above, could it be perception that ultimately gives leadership the "mythological significance?"Â
Whats everyone opinion on leadership? There are pros and cons to having it but what would be the benefit of trying to downplay the importance of leadership in the work place? Is it even possible to do that?

How effective is this type of advertising when everyone owns the product? Biggest product that comes to mind is an iPhone but If everyone owns it then do you really express yourself as different? Or do you fall right into the norm?

Air France
I've seen this video once already in a different class but never really looked at it as extremely alarming. Its safe to say that the crew didn't know what was happening. In my assessment of the flight in the Hudson river, I concluded that the communication between New York Departure and the captain was ultimately a restrain on the captain as there were comments ignored between the captain and co-pilot. In this video, the same can be said about the co-pilot and the communication. Clearly by no means am I saying that communication isn't necessary but when there's a lot of questions and sounds going on in the cockpit, its very difficult to pay attention to everything at once. An experienced pilot may have been able to handle it but the 32 year old co-pilot seemed to have "choked" for lack of better words.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Agree or disagree with me?

Contructing Rationality

We often take action and then "rationalize" after the fact. This tendency does not make our actions irrational.
Can anyone explain how this doesn't make the tendency irrational?
