I tried watching some of the republican convention today… and like… i’m genuinely confused if they’re living in the same country.. they keep talking about how Obama destroyed America… but like… gas prices have been down… unemployment is way down.. same sex couples can get married and adopt children in all 50 states now, giving loving homes to tons of children who would have otherwise been in the foster care system… marijuana has been decriminalized or legalized in tons of places and is putting fewer people in jail and giving people more medical options… more people than ever before have health insurance… more people than ever before have access to the internet… more attention is being paid to systemic racism… more energy than ever before is coming from renewable sources… The Dow Jones Stock average LITERALLY hit its HIGHEST POINT EVER last week… LGBTQ people can openly serve in the military.. income tax didn’t go up at all… like… did nobody at the republican convention experience any of this or.. what… like sure we have problems like the cost of higher education, our infrastructure crumbling, campaign finance accountability, tax loopholes for corporations, the minimum wage being too low… but all those things are like… actively worse because of republicans…. is there another america out there that I don’t know about or what
