I know it was said her mom took him from his crib, but i’d be much more interesting if he had grown in the plegians culture in his formative years. That would allow him to act as the middle ground to help bridge the conflict between ylisse and Plegia.

Also adding more story of Chrom’s father actions. maybe Chrom’s father became fearful of their religion for being different and thus he made the crusades , but later that helping create a more extremism factions of their religion. Maybe Grima not being a god of annihilation, but rather of vengeance and retribution?

I would also completely rewrite Validar’s grimleal to be an extremism faction of their local religion that formed after the crusades, with most of the common folk not being quite as extremism.

Robin could act as a middle ground, helping bridge the conflict, someone who grew up in Plegia culture and who later becomes aware of the history between the two nations, while being the vessel and/or reincarnation of their dead god. It would add so much more weight to Chrom’s actions of deciding to help a stranger from the enemy nation.

And it strengths the theme against the cycle of violence.

Him being the vessels for the god of retribution and vengeance for his people being adverted, because the current king of the nation (Chrom) is trying to acknowledge and mend the damage his father did in the past. Echoing Emmeryn’s dying wish for them to have peace

With everything changing in the original timeline due to Chrom and Emmeryn being killed.

Awakening has very good ideas, but it relies on a lot of orientalism and painting the bad guys as very one dimensional, in spite of having a very interesting background for the current conflict of the game.

I mean you've cottoned on to a lot of what I'm changing in my rewrite because I'm trying to eliminate or tone down the racism and such, and because Plegia fascinates me. I'm even rewriting Validar but a lot of that is redacted for sake of it not being spoiled in fic. But I will go into him as a person.

Not only that, this is used to justify the white heroes hatred of the arab character, whom btw was a victim of religious genocide, yet is glossed over, and also sexualize Aversa.

In terms of anti Arab racism, this is far, far worse than anything Kaga pulled. With current politics in the world, this writing is even more offensive.

Why are you defending the guy who made amnesiac loli dragons a Thing in the series?

The only Loli Dragon in a Kaga game was Tiki, whom wasn't amnesiac and the character wasn't even his idea, contrast this to the Japanese version of Awakening having Nowi be mentally a child and be a sexualized marriage candidate.

Its fine to dislike older FE games, but if you're angry about bad faith accusations about Awakening, than the solution isn't making more bad faith accusations, only this time about games you haven't even played and writers you don't even know.

I don't??? Dislike the older games??? I have said this on repeat and you won't listen, you're picking a fight with me because I like Awakening despite its flaws. Also, Robin is Validar's child, regardless of what you say, so despite their pale skin they are also Arabic descent.

Kaga has an entire character whose thing is "I'm actually white but I covered myself in mud to make me ugly" and the entire whatever was going on with recruiting the dancer in Tear Ring Saga.

Robin and Grima are the same person.

Though imo, the only thing separating them is the fact that Robin has amnesia, thus not remembering the trauma of Forneus, their creator and father figured backstabbing them, of Alm slaying them for no reason other than the fact that they were a dragon, and of Validar and the Grimleal raising and worshiping them as a god of destruction.

In the Future Past DLC and in FE Heroes, its confirmed that Grima did truly care for Chrom and the others. But they betrayed them because they were afraid of being backstabbed first. Of being killed for WHAT they are rather than WHO they are, just as Forneus attempted and Alm did.

The way I see it, Robin succeeded as a vessel because they are the literal reincarnation of Grima, wether Validar knows it or not. This especially makes sense under the fanon belief that Validar and, by extension, Robin/Grima, are descendants of Forneus. After so long, Grima's soul was drawn back to the bloodline of which he technically was also a part of.

I personally headcanon that when they reached a certain age (before meeting Chrom, they remembered who they were and their past lives, hence their struggle to trust anyone, even their best friend Chrom.

And when Validar influenced them to kill Chrom, that was the final straw that broke the camel's back.
