if misogyny can be on the basis of sex, then trans men are also subject to misogyny on that level. that misogyny intersects with transphobia
you're telling me you think transphobes distinguish between sex & gender? i do think trans men can be targeted by misogyny but in that case, they are not being seen as trans, they are being seen as women, & targeted because they are viewed as women. trans men can face both transphobia AND misogyny, but not transmisogyny, because 1) they are not being targeted by both at the same time & 2) that word refers specifically to the intersection of oppressions faced by trans women. it already means something. you can't have it.
basically what you're asking me is if i think sex-based oppression is real. "sex-based oppression" is a terf dog whistle that's used to group trans men & cis women together & claim that they experience a joint oppression perpetuated by cis men & trans women. it's literally biological essentialism. it is not reflected in the material reality of our society.
also i think a trans man's sex is male, biologically male, because historically sex was created as a category to legitimize gender, not the other way around. a trans man is a man & therefore his body is male because a man is living in it. a trans woman's body is biologically female because it is a female's body. but i KNOW most of the people on that post are not ready for that conversation & i don't have the time right now to pull out the sources for things i read in queer studies class 20 years ago.
