When and why did you create it?

Let’s first start with who we were. We were 2 women who were succumbing to the overwhelming demands of the world. We were shrinking. We were losing ourselves under the weight of stress and anxiety. Even with our optimistic demeanors, meditation and daily yoga practice, our mental well-being left us feeling depleted and even more so, it left us not being present. Not being present for our little ones. Not being present for our other halves. Not being present for ourselves.

We felt alone in this struggle and constant battle to successfully balance demanding careers, motherhood, families and life. And the picture-perfect moms on Instagram left us feeling sad and oftentimes like failures. What were we doing wrong?

Turns out, nothing. As we began to confide in one another and share our struggles, we realized that we weren’t alone. That what we felt was “normal” and we had been disempowered to silently suffer and hide behind the smiles and the “I got this” mantra. When in fact, we didn’t get it and we were lost.

This began our long journey to transform that “normal” and find a real solution to these real-life issues. Motherhood has forced us to face our anxiety and stress. We could no longer hide from it, and in this darkness we discovered CBD and hemp.

In our extensive scrutiny and trial of other online CBD Tinctures and brands, nothing seemed to live up to our stringent standards for premium quality, potency and transparency. And so we set out to create our own brand and thus Veré was born in 2019.

Any challenges you’ve had to overcome?

As a female-founded brand, Veré is disrupting the status quo with its mission-led business practices. To us, cultivating a community of empowered women has the efficacy to bring about great positive change in the world. It’s about becoming our best selves and supporting other women on their paths to becoming their best selves.

How has COVID19 impacted your business?

Like many mothers, we are juggling our careers with virtual learning on top of Veré. It’s a lot in a “normal” environment and we are definitely grateful for our CBD products because they have helped us manage our stress and anxiety immensely.

What does your company do?

Lazarus Naturals made an affordable and effective line of CBD products, including tinctures, capsules, topicals, and pet products. Lazarus Naturals was born on the belief that quality CBD shouldn’t cost so much. While other CBD brands chase the “green rush,” we’re building a future where quality CBD is accessible to everybody.

When and why did you create it?

Founded in 2014 with the belief that CBD should be accessible to everybody, Lazarus Naturals produces high-quality products that are effective, not expensive. 2014 was an exciting time to start a CBD company because the industry was just beginning to take off. Sequoia Price Lazarus and a small, dedicated team, including Evan Skandalis (VP of Farm Operations), Dylan Summers (VP of Government Affairs) and Ian Tudor (Crystallization Specialist) wanted to be a part of a movement to help people help themselves. By making CBD products that are both effective and affordable, anyone, regardless of their situation, could experience the benefits of CBD. They started out selling handcrafted CBD products at farmer’s markets and have gone on to become an industry leader. Each batch of tinctures, topicals, capsules and pet products undergoes third-party testing for residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, microbial impurities and potency.

At Lazarus Naturals, we prioritize purpose over profits, partnering with non-profit organizations who help communities in need and work to create systemic change. Most recently we committed to donating $100,000 every year moving forward to causes that support criminal justice reform, voting reform, government accountability and other issues that address disenfranchisement, starting with a $10,000 donation to the ACLU Foundation of Oregon.

How has COVID19 impacted your business?

During the coronavirus pandemic, we converted production space to make and distribute hand sanitizer to healthcare and correctional institutions. Ten percent of all sanitizer produced is being donated to food banks and homeless shelters in the communities where we live and work.

What does your company do?

Oliver’s Harvest is a wellness company with over 30 years of experience in healthcare. We specialize in natural products, particularly those made with CBD extracted from hemp.
