You’ve made a new tumblr account! Congratulations! We’re so happy you’re here. It’s time to pick your avatar. We’ve asked some of our beloved artists to create some avatars for new users like you.

Find one you like? Go ahead and save your chosen image (—a quick note here: This is ok to do here because these images were made for this very purpose. When you’re out in the Tumblr wilds, please always either reblog or ask an artist’s permission before you save or screenshot their work).

Now you have your avatar, here’s how to add it to your Tumblr:

In the app:

Tap the account button on the bottom left to view your blog.

Tap on the blog avatar, then select “Change your avatar.”

Now tap on the “Choose photo” footer that has appeared at the bottom of your screen. Your photos will appear, and with them the avatar image you saved to Photos in the previous step.

On iOS, tap “Update”  in the top right corner to set your new avatar, then tap “Save” once you're done. 

On Android, tap the green checkmark, then tap “Save” once you're done.

On web:

Go to Tumblr, click on the account menu button to the top right of your dashboard, and select “Settings.”

Select your blog from the menu on the right.

Click on the “Edit Appearance” button at the top.

Click on the pencil icon in the avatar to upload your avatar image.
