a9) what are the main differences (and enduring similarities!) between your character in Academy and your character in NOIR, regarding: the things they most want

dinari in academy wanted to blend in, to go with the flow, to be boy next door

he wants friends and he wants silent nights by candle light and he wants rihanna to release a new album already

dinari in noir wants to blend in so he can stir the pot, upend the uppercrust, 

he wants friends and he wants loud music to strobe lights and he wants a hand to hold

(and rihanna to release a new album already!)

b6) your perception of your character: did anything go exactly as you planned or expected? if so, what?

he loosened up with his anxiety! that was the main goal i had for him in the beginning, and he was able to joke more and stopped quadruple-guessing everyone’s words towards him. he also got a lot of positive mentions fashionwise, and while his style has changed drastically from what it originally was (brockhampton-y to eboy to egirl), i’m glad everyone was excited to see what he wore to events

c3) some ideal plotlines that you’d love to write in noir, that you didn’t get to write in academy power-development wise

a10) what are the main differences (and enduring similarities!) between your character in Academy and your character in NOIR, regarding: their values and moral code

both dinari and dinoiri are pretty concerned with the bigger picture when it comes to morality and that they have specific ideas of what is right and what is wrong, eat the rich etc, but the biggest differences come from how they were raised. academy dinari spent much of his life around people, felt ostracized by them, and collapsed in on himself, developing a “them vs me” mentality which created an apathetic attitude to the ppl around him 

but dinoiri spent a lot of his life in situations where he was an arm’s length away from the few people he was able to spend time with, and so he has a greater understanding of how important the connections with people are to lead a fulfilling life, tldr he’s got a fire in his bleeding heart to help people

b4) your perception of your character: were you ultimately happy with how they changed, and would you do anything different if you were to write them a second time?

he’s changed a lot since he first joined the academy! but i don’t think it was to the point that i’d like him to. here at the end he’s made friends and i’m proud of that, but he never really opened up to anyone in a meaningful way. im looking forward to that in noir!

c2) some ideal plotlines that you’d love to write in noir, that you didn’t get to write in academy plot-wise

oh man there’s so much great potential in the way i’ve written him for noir >:) i’ve learned a lot about the collaborative nature of rp’s and i really tried to channel opportunities for connections in noir, so thats pretty exciting. when i originally wrote him for academy i confused his feelings of being a side character with writing a side character and so some of his backstory or interactions lacked depth, but that’s gone baybe. there’s so many open ends and opportunity regarding his sometimes dangerous career, his obligation to his species, yearning for his family, etc that it feels like i have all the world of possibilities
