HAAAAAPPY NEEEW YEAR MY FRIENDS!!!🎊🎉🎆 today with help of Yakov Crew + Beka and Yuuri (and also new Georgi’s gf bc let my boy be happy with his new gf) im doing my last educational post in this year regarding russians, namely i’ll tell you about how post-soviet countries celebrate new year!

lets say im just explaining what the heck is going on the pic i drew lmao (i mean its clear the whole gang decided to celebrate new year by yakov but anyway-)

so maybe you knew it already, but new year is very special holiday in russia and other post-soviet (thus Kazakhstan too, thats why Beka is with the crew too) courtiers, and its much, much bigger occasion than Christmas! why you ask? because we just mashed christmas and new year traditions into one and moved them on 31th of december! this happened since in 1926 the Christmas celebration was cancelled in Soviet Union because USSR was an atheistic country on that time being. people didnt want to let the celebrations go, so all the christmas stuff like christmas tree, decorations and even the old men in red who brings presents were moved on new year celebrations

Today is December 25th, and it is Viktor’s Birthday!

We don’t have enough information about him as human and skater, and maybe one day in season two authors will open some parts of his life, character and past. 

But we know that Viktor is from St. Petersburg. 

And I think that it is a good idea to give a brief description of the city where Viktor lives. And where currently Yuuri is. ^^

Disclaimer: I’m an inspired and proud citizen of St. Petersburg, born and raised in the city, and I still live here. I’ll try to give an overall description of city and citizens from my point of view just to make more clear picture of the city in ppl’s minds. 

Some people may agree with my vision, some may not. It is okay.
