We had 48 people submit quilt blocks for our pride quilt for this month's event and we've created an awesome spread representing the clangen creator community's pride. As usual if you have a question about who drew a particular square we can probably identify them for ya :3
HELLO!!!! From this day until August 3rd i will likely not be able to respond to submissions, the contest is still open! i just wont be able to do the return art as fast as i normally had or at all until after summer ends. (also no new pages until late August to early September(hopefully not later then that)(depending on if i get burnt out).
Also reminder that the contest officially ends on August 3rd when i will draw return art if i get any submission and then results will be posted as soon as i can. Thank you all :D

the Siblings i love each design you did here they all look so good. i like the colors and patterns on Dawn, Rift looks adorable love the curly fur and Mist looks so scruffy love the fur shape (also i cant tell if im misinterpreting if but the line in his mouth looks like hes missing a tooth dont know if thats intentional or not) wonderful work thank you for your entries :D

I love doing designs and saw this guys pretty sprite and wanted to throw my hand in the ring
Wanted to give the idea of someone who speaks to ghosts/Mysterious/ and lonesome
I also decided to change the bow to red to keep it in the same color range of the design, the bow is just the same color as the eyes.

RAA I was in a design slump and this gal pulled me out:] I wanted to base her off of a deer or elk and then I thought about Chinese water deer... big teeth that probably give her a lisp/pos I also love purple+green designs so I pushed her colors a bit:]

Mumblespring- I changed the colors of the eyes and skin to a more reddish color because it was easier on the eyes,, it said they were lonesome so I tried to make him seem grumpy! ( and have bangs). I tried to make them have a more poised build,, but idk if that communicated right
Spore- I saw that she had one bad eye as she got older so I put it on the side she had the black on, kinda giving a “rotting” effect. Same thing with the tail. I saw she was a good swimmer so I gave her a little bit more of a bulky build.

Honestly, I tried my best to be accurate as possible with how my artstyle is TvT (tho while still trying to add as much details as I could!)

My entries!! I did velvelily and fuli and had a blast designing them (it's actually my first time joining a design contest)
Gonna quickly go over some of my designing process:
Velvet reminds me of royalty, like the velvet cloak kings wear. So her neck fluff was somewhat based on that, and the paw fluffs was to also emphasize that her fur is like a cloak. And obviously the tail is based on the lily part of her name
For fuli however, I didn't have a set theme for them, it was more just what looked cool and I think they turned out pretty cool
And here are the guys I'd like you to draw, miragedream for the full and sugarwolf for the bust ^^ but nws if you're busy/burnt out from drawing!

'There's no time to think about that!' Finch scolded her brain, its not like she needed an answer until winter anyway, she needed to focus on the now. She could hear the chatter of her clanmates grow closer as she and Sparrow finally reached the place where the clan decided to hold most ceremonys, a small old but sacred tree not too far from the camp but not to close to visit often. Wren flicked his ear as his brother sat next to him turning to look at him with impatience but Sparrow only grins. Finch takes her place beside them, taking the time to look at tree properly as everyone goes quiet for the speech.
The Winds Cradle was'nt the largest tree in the territory but it was the most important one according to the warriors, Finch was'nt sure why at first but seeing it up close she understood. Despite the calm air the tree looked like it was stuck in an consistent wind, its branches looked like they were pointing at something far off in the mountains... She shuttered, the nerves shes been trying to push down since waking up resurfacing. She looked down trying to appear curious about the rocks that surrounded the tree instead even as CanaryStar shifted to stand as they approached.
"Hello" Canary purred "we are all gathered here for the first ceremony in our Clan's history, and I'm honored to lead you through this new experience" Even staring down at her paws Finch could feel as Canary paused to listen to... something. 'Could the Spirits be watching our ceremony?' she supposed they were suppose to even if we aren't an 'official' Clan yet "Wren, Sparrow... HarpySwoop and I watched you grow into fine young cats, you both have leared so much, We've no doubt your ready to get your full name" The brothers raised their heads high, Finch couldn't help but to raise her head as well.
"Wrenpaw, your stealth has aided you in both hunting... and pranking" she chuckled at the apprentices embarrassed face before softening "you have learned how your words can affect others and used this knowledge to comfort and entertain, Im so proud too of trained such a lovely cat. I gift you the name WrenRattle, may it remind you of the power your voice has and the faith your family has in you." The Clan cheered as WrenRattle bowed. CanaryStar waited for everyone to calm before looking to Sparrow.
"Sparrow. Your enthusiasm for even the toughest of training sessions has made you skilled in a variety of areas, with running, fishing and fighting as your best strengths. you always lift everyones spirits with a bright smile reminding us older cats to relax and play awhile, your a bright bundle of energy and I couldn't imagine this Clan without you"
Sparrow was practically vibrating as he struggled to quiet the purrs building in his chest which only got louder at each word the leader said "I gift you the name SparrowScale, may it remind you of the joy you've brought to others lives" The Clan erupted in sound.
"WrenRattle! SparrowScale!"
"WrenRattle! SparrowScale!"
"WrenRattle! SparrowScale!"
SerpentWing and Harpyswoop were the loudest, they tilted their heads up as if shouting to the Stars themselves. As the two toms stood up to walk over too their guardians Finch remained still and quiet.
Its her turn... as the yells petered out she felt her fur raise along her spine, everyone was looking now, she needed to be brave. 'Just a little longer then the summer celebration will distract everyone, I just need to sit here a little bit longer'.

And we still have a bit more to go before moon 4 ends. as is pretty obvious i tried something different this page, turns out drawing all the dialogue (and tree) was pretty difficult so i tried a more 'writing' approach, ive not really done serious writing in quite a while so it took many attempts and lots if brainstorming but im pretty happy with it (even if its a bit long)(i think any writing ill do will be too long and at this point i dont think i even want to cut it shorter i like rambling) anyway i probably wont get the next update done until after July, i do have quite a bit of scraped art for this page (some colored even!) so ill post those at some point

I finally made actual contest designs! I did spore and dawn. I didn't stick too close to their sprites sorry, but I loved their colouring and wanted to add something unique to them! Also I dont know if you still needed a suffix for Spore but if you do then here are some suggestions haha: droplet, cloud, petal.
And for the cat I would like you to draw Is my girl Moonstar! I think she would look lovely in your style!

the above is the original version of moon 4 i got pretty far into the drawing process but after taking a step back i wasnt happy with it, the dialogue felt 'off' and i didn't like the background in the last one so i scraped it and started over.
some sketches of composition for the tree. additionally the tree was originally an oak instead of a hawthorn. i sadly dont have any saved sketches for the oak tree it was going to be based on the angel tree in California with large branches that reached the ground, i still like the idea and might use it another time when im better at backgrounds but for now it was too difficult to work with.
the scrapped version of the second paragraph before i changed the type of tree.
My design for Rift ! Idk why I added those silly little cream splotches but I guess it turned out okay ? Anyways she’s a warrior now sry. As for the return art…I don’t really have a lot of ocs now but could you draw my fav canon cat Bristlefrost…? Yea thx a lot :D
