After a discussion today I thought a little discussion about what checks and balances in our government look like and not look like.. Refusing to vote isn't checks and balances. It's an immature and neglectful action of any party. Right now it's Republicans whose representatives bought by NRA are leading. While they are doing it doesn't make it a checks and balance situation. Checks and balances within Congress work in that all states get a voice to vote on a proposed bill in the House and Senate. It needs to pass both the house and senate before it can be signed into law. So if the house passes a bill and it gets sent to Senate they can vote it down and vise Versa. They can make adjustments to a proposed bill and resend and the proposed bill gets tossed around between the two houses of Congress sometimes growing and sometimes shrinking with changes til it either passes or gets tossed by both in a vote. The next check and balances comes with the President whom can accept the bill or veto. Now once a veto happens lawmakers can vote but they have to get enough signatures to reverse the veto and override the presidents veto seal the final check point is the Supreme Court.. People or lawmakers can ask to have a law reviewed to see if the constitution supports it. They listen to arguments as to proving or disproving that it fits our constitution or doesn't. And pending arguments and judges interpretation of the constitution they then vote whether it is constitutional or unconstitutional . Not voting isn't the check and balance system. Republicans are acting like babies . The NRA is scared. Many gun owners do actually support common sense gun laws. No one is trying to take guns out of the hands of anyone but criminals and those mentally unsound. There is enough support so they have decided to not vote because then they don't have to say to the people in their state that they voted no or explain their vote. Plus they may be worried that the vote would pass and that the bill would go to the president. I think there are enough NRA bought politicians in congress they don't have to worry about it getting to the president sadly. So the only reason not to vote is because they know the people that voted them in would question why they voted no. Here is the thing if it's the no fly list .. Why hasn't one taken the same bill and amended or tweaked or added something and then offered it to make it such that a citizen and not a terrorist can prove they are not one and access one. How long have they had to do this. They have had since Sandy hook and now Orlando. How many more deaths?

Brock Turner is a prime example of Rape Culture and how this problem hurts victims and others. Rape Culture was seen by media, judges rulings, fathers letter, a friends letter, and how the police handled the mugshot. The media's handling of the rapist is a shining beacon of rape culture. In every story, readers are presented words of sexual assualt and reminded that he was a fast swimmer. Brock Turner was not only charged but convicted of being a rapist. Instead of saying rapist, "Brock Turner ... Brock Turner was convicted guilty of raping an innocent women." The title given to Brock and the unwillingness to title it with rape almost serves as a cushion. The police's unwillingness to release the mugshot of Brock Turner is another example. Now to be fair rich Brock's attorney may have paid or threatened to prevent the picture from being released. Brock should not have been treated better or different. Although the pic they used for the mugshot could become the new mugshot and serve as a reminder that looks can be deceiving and that criminals come in all neck of the woods. If shouldn't have to be stated. The judges ruling is prime example. The crime can get a max of 14 years. Prosecutors were looking for 6 years. It was chopped to 6 months which now got reduced to only 3 months. The concern as to the effect on the violator and not to the victim or others whom may be victims in the future. The Father's "only twenty minutes" and blaming alcohol is another example of Rape Culture. There is this sad belief that rape from a college drinking party is just a mistake. Let's be clear. He isn't being jailed for accidentally bumping her and causing her to drop alcohol over her clothes. He was arrested for fingering a woman that was unconscious. The female friend continues the Rape culture by treating this as a big mistake and victim blames by saying she wasn't even awake or can remember. This misperception of I was never raped so he couldn't have done it. Calling it a mistake and saying that jail time is a political correct action. Let's be clear her letter shows she has never been attacked and never seen someone or knew someone whom has been attacked. She sets herself up for being a victim. If someone raped her those words she used to defend her friend are likely to be thrown at her. Rape culture needs to end. Rape culture resulted in a joke sentence. It resulted in the victim being victimized and blamed twice for being having one small night of fun and having something to drink. Being drunk doesn't mean that it is okay to force one self. Rape is caused by rapists and only one responsible is the rapist.

When I heard about the accusations there was like this sadness. I don't have Hollywood crushes or many of them. Depp isn't one of them. But I liked him and some of the things he did outside his own movie and work time. Yes some of it is PR stunt and I'm not naive on that front. But still enjoyed it. However I know that there is a chance that she could be telling the truth. In light of that I can't for now watch a POTC episode at home. Trust me I have my favorite scenes and enjoy a good showing of it. I actually had hoped to watch the new one soon. Yes he could have been abused but the people reporting and the timing does put me on alert. But that doesn't mean it's not possible. I hope the court can make an accurate decision. Sadly and know this the courts don't always come with fair choices toward the abuser (no matter which.). Honestly my leaning toward support of Amber is it is rare that people make up that stuff. Is there a chance she is lying? Quite possibly. Then I guess we shouldn't listen to any rape, sexual assuault or other domestic abuse violence victims claims? Because they may or may not have a motive and make things up. Honestly someone that makes up that kind of crap needs to serve time in prison as you make it harder for the real victims. If we start the well there is a chance it leaves open for how other victims get viewed. The way I look at it as I won't be supporting his films until he is cleared. I hope that they investigate more and with open minds. If he was in fact abused with evidence, I hope he presses charges and gets him. Please stop calling her a gold digger . Do you all know how many times those words have been uttered about other people that have come out about actions against a celebrity. Pretty much every single one. Cosby is a great example. But if you look there have been more. He isn't guilty until he is proven guilty in the court. But that doesn't mean victims that make an accusation should be scrutinized in public either and by the public eye.

This is my HG strong baby. In honor of HG Awareness Day! This was my second pregnancy and miracle. She survived a rough trip to get there. I suffered with severe depression, dehydration, not the best diet (because got to the point you ate and drank what you had a higher chance of not spitting up) and nausea. I honestly feared that I would lose her to Miscarriage as HG often results in a miscarriage or still birth. There were times the depression was so bad that thoughts I never thought would ever cross my head came and I would feel horrible and like a bad mom. These thoughts were because I was suffering. I fought through to the end and had my miracle. I love her to pieces. She is my HG strong girl

Mikayla is 7 months already. I can't believe it. She is my pride and joy. The breastfeeding journey has been different than my first but no less enjoyable. Both I had latching issues and had to advocate and fight. I will say for those at the start the beginning is tough. It is really tough and there were and are moments that it can be so stressful and it takes will, want, and support which is why groups like this and a supportive family and good dr's that understand breastfeeding can make the difference or not. Hang in it does get better. The nights of endless cluster feeding and being stuck to the couch and the learning phase does change and worth it if you can make it. I'm going to talk about something because I had progress in something very personal. Since I was 13 I had a condition called Primary Vaginismus. At the time I didn't have a name. I couldn't insert a tampon and I passed out due to pain. I couldn't insert the tampon. In college I would head to an OBGYN because I had menstrual cramps that shook me to the core. The OBGYN was horrible. She never even touched me and had me in the stirups and says to me "I can't do the Pap smear and come back when you have gotten help and walked out the door." No name or what help. I went to another that completed the pap but painfully and told me I was fine anatomically and no answers as to why the severe period cramps or first obgyns response. I got married and learned on my honeymoon that I wouldn't be able to have sex. I told a counselor as I was sexually abused at five and she laughed at my face because I told her I couldn't have sex. My mom a nurse found the condition Vaginismus. I found an online support group in Yahoo and bought dilators and tried self treating. I struggled and eventually learned of a PT 2.5 Hours away. I had given up hope of ever having children naturally. Four months from start of PT I manage to have sex painfully. I surprised myself and my Pt with my first miracle. I breastfed my first that had latching issues due to ties. I regressed and went another 4 and a half years. I began to look at foster to adopt as I assumed that even with PT things were seemingly worse. I would learn it would be from the pregnancy and breastfeeding. I got pregnant again shortly after I had a couple of successes in the bedroom. Had the tough pregnancy with being extremely sick for 9 months and pelvic floor pain. I had her two weeks early. She had latching issues similar to her brother. I have managed to be successful. I learned of a PT option that wasn't available when I previously started in Reading. I have been now going weekly and using the dilators and biofeedback. This PT told me that with breastfeeding it could slow my progress as the hormones keep the body at a prepregnancy state. That the pregnancy had made for my regression. Plus with breastfeeding it can reduce the natural lubricant. But mine was more clamping and tightness. In my 11 years of marriage I just recently had pain free sex. Something that I never had experienced. The best part is I did it while still breastfeeding. So if you are suffering with tightness or painful sex, and have vaginismus it is very possible to breastfeed and treat it. It is quite common but sadly not discussed. They estimate that 30% or more of women will suffer with the this condition at some point in their life. It basically is the pelvic floor muscles clamping. The clamping creates pain and tightness and sometimes creates what a wall. There are two kinds primary which means always had a problem (mine due to my past) and secondary didn't have issues and suddenly . Here is a website www.vaginismus.com. As I lie on the bed, debating the bathroom dilemma for myself. I'm crying but not crying unhappy tears. I just has pain free sex with my husband. Something that never has happened even when I had prior success. You might be thinking TMI. Sex hasn't always come easily and even now it wasn't easy. I had to prep with a medical instrument so the beautiful kisses and other foreplay went out the door. Physical therapy has brought me to this point. While yes I have post Pt discomfort I am so thankful that I got this far.

Basically he has bought into the "judge a book by its cover." This whole 24 hour hotline will be a Salem witch trials revisited. Straight and transgender people will be victims of this bill and law. His hotline will be ringing because what one person as being questionably masculine is going to differ between each person. Here is a case and point.. Pretend someone does something I don't like. Im angry or drunk and decide that in a state of anger to call the hotline. I'm on my way home from a bar and make a stop at the McDonalds. So I'm upset and irrational and being an ass. So I call the hotline on someone whom is straight and going into the appropriate bathroom. Maybe this person has some genetic features that can be viewed more masculine to some and not others. Maybe they had their purse stolen or id was left at home. Whom hasn't had a situation where they forgot their drivers license. So police pull them in as they don't have their ID. Now you put the state in a risk of being sued for harassment. Not to mention.. Maybe the person whom made the call knew they were calling just to harass. They have the power to make someone innocently a victim to being harassed. Some transgender women look very much like men and more than some biological cisgender males. So they walk into the bathroom that matches their birth certificate. According to the governor people are to call if they see a guy walk in the bathroom. What do you think women are going to now see walking into the women's bathroom. Transgender women whom are dressed like men. Many times its hard to distinguish and some even had the sex change. You can't always get the birth certificate changed. So now your making them uncomfortable and risk of being beat up by another guy whom thinks they are a perv and a trip to the police station. This law makes no sense. Straight and transgender people are at risk of being harassed and discriminated on. The pervs that have visited bathrooms haven't dressed as women. They have dressed as themselves and had cameras to see. Transgenders have been using the bathrooms for years. There is no justification and no evidence that suggests perverts and pedophiles are going to start a new trend. Stop the hate and repeal HB2 as this bill is Already hitting the pockets and lawsuits will happen and people will be innocently hurt.

Seriously have been waiting to hear back about a potential volunteer breastfeeding counselor position I interviewed for about a week ago or more. They said I should hear back about a week. I was thinking email however heard phone ring and the area code looked local so was like this might be it. Dashed to the phone.. "Congratulations.." And I'm feeling excited "your house has been selected to receive a cruise." Defeated and clicked the phone. Ugh

Pelvic floor issues that impact life basic function of poop. It has equated to severe anxiety attack having to go potty. Me sitting and biting a sock or shirt as going and tears streaming and then gaining composure and dealing with the blood. Then dealing with pain for hours post bowel movement. Sometimes my life sucks and today I had two and pretty sure two new fissures.
