this place -- this Tumblr -- feels like my last safe haven that few, if any people, know about. my life has changed rapidly in the last year. and in a matter of months, it will change beyond comprehension...eclipsing anything I've ever faced before.

that fucking phrase, "heavy is the head that wears the crown" used to drive me nuts because it just reeked of "oh poor me."

But in hindsight, I realize that it could also be a reflection of those of us who never expected to go very far in life finally waking up to success and -- as a consequence -- have so much expected of them when -- for years -- we were always a failure and never had to live up to anything.

do I wish I was a failure? Still failing? Still homeless? Still addicted? Still using? no. Of course not.

None of those things made me a failure, by the way. but when no one reached out to me while it was happening, I sure felt like one. and in a matter of moments, I'll be surrounded by "friends" -- not ever really sure if that's what they actually are.
