Too many to fit. Don't worry, I'm as stable as C4. For softer cases I'll reach out first.
I stand by this:
Everyone has the right to headcanon or interpret canon however they want on their own space. Free to add tags — or not.
For example, I see Aaron as an anti-hero... and then some.
So I'll say it — Politically Correct Police DNI. I've seen too much of it over the years.

For me, I still want to do all those things about selfship, but I've already piled up so many drafts... The Chinese community (e.g. Tencent QQ Channel [aka QQ Guild], Bilibili, Lofter, Red Note [aka Xiaohongshu]) gave me a headache so I came to Tumblr and X (Twitter). I'm tired of seeing people fighting over fandom rules. It's really hard to find people who genuinely care about your selfship. A lot of people just give a polite like without actually reading your stuff. This is the same in both Chinese and English communities…
If someone kindly suggests I shouldn't use certain tags, I'll kindly suggest they mute or block me or my own tag. Love and peace.
As for someone who rudely jumps out and starts throwing insults? I don't give a fuck.
My drafts are still sitting there. My thoughts on selfship haven't changed either. Maybe I just don't express myself enough, and rarely have conversations with people.
I find it really strange — how can some people look at a male character who, without anyone being able to force him into anything, married and divorced women twice, and also had a crush on a woman who turned out to reject him — and still say "There's no romance in canon." I just don't get it.
I'll never deny canon. I'm even writing a bit of my own headcanon about him & his ex-wives. His past stays in the past.

Evelyn's second language is Mandarin, taught by her mother and her grandma on her mother's side, enough for her to speak simply with the local ethnic Chinese.

Keener: My wife has the money. [Steps aside, looks at Evelyn.]
Evelyn: Ugh... hold on, I'll get it. [rummages through bag] Hmm, wallet... where is it... oh right. [reaches into pocket, suddenly draws gun and fires at the ground]
Mugger: Shit! [turns and runs]
Evelyn: [fires at the ground again] Freeze!
[The mugger turns around, trembling.]
Evelyn: Drop the knife.
Mugger: [throws the knife] No, no, please don't shoot. Please let me go. I didn't have a choice...
[Two patrolling officers arrive, drawn by the noise.]
Officer 1: [gun drawn] What's going on here?! ...Oh! You're—
Keener: I'm just a law-abiding citizen. This man was trying to rob us. We acted in self-defense.
[Officer 2 looks at all three, holsters weapon, pats Officer 1]
Officer 2: Alright, looks like nothing to worry about here.
Mugger: She just shot at me!
Officer 2: [cuffing the mugger] Count your blessings, pal. You're still alive.
Mugger: Hey, aren't you going to do anything?!
Officer 1: Ugh... [turns to Evelyn] Would you mind identifying yourself? Shut this fool up.
Evelyn: Sure.
[Evelyn rolls up a sleeve, taps the watch twice, and raises the arm to flash it.]
[The two watch as the officers and the mugger disappear into the distance.]
Evelyn: Can you handle it yourself next time?
Keener: [cheeky grin] You said you'd watch my six...
Evelyn: That guy was at your twelve.
Keener: If I'd fired, it would've been a hassle.
Evelyn: Fine... but that "please don't hurt me" just now, ew... [disgusted]
Keener: [scoffs] At least you didn't feed a bullet this time. That's progress.
Evelyn: I'm not some kind of murderous psycho.
Keener: You used to be.
Evelyn: No I wasn't. [finger gun pressed against Keener's back]
Keener: Copy that, Agent.
---
[That night.]
Evelyn: Aaron...
Keener: Hmm?
Evelyn: You know... back when we first knew each other, it was in the middle of all the chaos outside. I was thinking... maybe you're the one who actually wants world peace. And I am...
Keener: [Interrupting] No, you're not.
---
[One day later, in a prison: The mugger is pushed into a cell. A convict is sitting on his bunk, resting. He turns his head and watches him until the officer locks the door and leaves.]
Convict: Whoa, not many people get locked up these days. Didn't expect a new face. What'd you do?
Mugger: Robbery.
Convict: How'd it go?
Mugger: Fucking unlucky. Tried to rob an agent.
Convict: [Dismissive] He didn't kill you. You're pretty lucky.
Mugger: Wasn't a guy. It was some woman. And some soft-looking dude next to her. If it wasn't an agent, I would've gotten away with it.
Convict: [Dismissive]
Mugger: …Hey, man, what are you in for?
Convict: [Pretends not to hear] I'm curious though — who did you try to rob?
Mugger: How the hell should I know? The cops didn't even question them. They just took me away.
Convict: Oh…
Mugger: What?
Convict: You ever wonder why the cops didn't ask them anything?
Mugger: How the fuck should I know why those cops did anything…
Convict: Those two—
[A passing officer slams on the bars twice.]
Officer: What are you yapping about? Shut up and keep it quiet!
Mugger: Sorry, sir!
Convict: [Silence]
[After the officer leaves.]
Convict: Ahem.
Mugger: Huh?
Convict: Don't just space out on me. I'm waiting. What did those two look like?
Mugger: Both have short black hair. The guy has a beard like this. [Mimes a beard on the chin]
Convict: [Rubs forehead] Jesus, half the guys look like that.
Mugger: I didn't have a camera, did I?
Convict: Did the guy say anything?
Mugger: "Please don't hurt me." Jesus… I don't even have a wife. How does a guy like that have a wife?
Convict: Hmm… hmm…
Mugger: Yeah?
Convict: That's suspicious.
Mugger: The cops seemed to know him too. Like they recognized him right away.
Convict: I'm not sure, but… a "soft-looking guy" that the cops recognize right away? No way… Could it be…?
[The convict takes out a security pen and starts drawing on a piece of paper.]
Mugger: Yeah, yeah, that's him! How'd you know? You drew it so well.
Convict: You're something else.
Mugger: Huh?
Convict: You know who you robbed? Aaron Keener!
Mugger: Who's that?
Convict: Holy shit. How did you even survive the Green Poison? Oh right, you civilians don't really know about them. You walked right into the lion's den, you know that? He's the number one wanted traitor of the Division.
Mugger: Wha—… then… what are you in for?
Convict: I used to be JTF. Don't worry about the details. You wouldn't get it anyway. As for that woman, Aaron Keener's wife, I saw her back in Manhattan. [Spreads both arms wide] You ever seen some woman take down this many people?
Mugger: … [Completely dumbfounded]
Convict: [Gives a thumbs-up] Your luck is fucking legacy.

Evelyn Anderson used to think she was a good person.
As community liaison officer Anderson, her efficiency was as consistently outstanding as her marksmanship. The people in the community had a good impression of her, too.
A proper upbringing ensured she would never scheme about things that weren't allowed.
Her paternal grandfather, a veteran who had served for years and retired with discipline etched into his bones, teaching by word and example. Her grandmother, kind on most days but not above reaching for a feather duster to set her straight. And her parents, who had met at a shooting range, a place where rules were strictly observed.
The military academy application that was denied. A position under the Sheriff's Office, yet not as an officer. Whatever time remained spent at the range: practice, hit the target, tally the score, day after day, on repeat.
When she was recruited as an agent, she said yes without hesitation, but inside, there wasn't much of a ripple.
Not until the virus broke out and she was activated did the days stop feeling so unbearable. After all, being an agent came with far more sense of purpose than being a community liaison... right?
Aaron Keener... in a way, was what she wanted to become.
That didn't mean she wanted to go rogue. She had absolutely no such intention.
But whether it was the shift from fury to composure, or achieving his objectives and shaking off pursuers time after time, or even breaking with temporary allies, he was like that bullet that pierced through every target and altered reality itself.
Calm. Efficient. Decisive. He had the power to seize control of reality and reshape it.
Her reality was changing too. But it was changing too slowly, always lingering at the doorstep, so he opened the door.
Still, she didn't understand why he'd allowed her to call him Aaron.
One day, a conversation like this took place between them.
"Sigh..."
"What's wrong, my princess?"
"Ugh... that's disgusting. Can you be normal?"
"Fine. What's wrong, Agent?"
"What even is all this stuff?"
Keener laughed, same as always.
"Okay, okay. I'll stop messing around."
"...It's just, that, um, why... did you suddenly start calling me Evelyn?"
Keener didn't answer right away. Instead, he picked up his glass and took a tactical sip of water. When he set it down, he accidentally placed it on the base of the desk lamp, but it stayed balanced.
"Then let's start with how you became an agent."
"Me? I originally wanted to go to military academy, but my family absolutely refused. Then... one day I happened to meet a certain senior, and he told me about the Strategic Homeland Division. Nothing special, really."
"Oh? Why did you want to go to military academy?"
"Maybe because of my grandpa. He's like you, served for years. Oh… after that, he returned to New York and transferred to the National Guard. ”
"But you said they wouldn't allow it."
"They thought sitting in an office was safer. That was the only reason."
"Amherst's virus changed a lot of things. If it weren't for his virus, I'd probably still be sitting in some Wall Street office right now."
"Sometimes I think about that too. If it weren't for his virus... I'd probably still be a liaison officer, bored out of my mind every day, unable to do anything."
"That's exactly it, you need the virus. Otherwise every day would be boring."
"Ah... no, that's not what I meant. Keener, I'm a Division agent."
"Call me Aaron, Evelyn. I get that you're a Division agent — but do you? You need this identity. Let me help you recall something. The first time you pulled the trigger and watched the target go down, what were you thinking? Was it 'I'm protecting civilians,' or 'So this is what it feels like'?"
"I'm... not sure."
"Don't lie to yourself. I mean it." Keener continued, satisfied. "I knew the Division's files couldn't be trusted. Someone with terrifyingly fast efficiency is definitely more than just 'highly capable.'"
He didn't press further. And after that day, she never again declared "I'm a Division agent" in front of him with that righteous conviction.
Aaron Keener: Now, you listen to me, I brought these people out of the Dark Zone and we were followed; I tried to hole up in a JTF safe house but the Rikers out there didn't back off! If you don't pull us out, these people are all dead!
JTF Soldier: That's Lima Charlie, Vanguard, but that zone is too hot for extraction. You will sit tight and await further instructions. Angel Six out.
Civilian: So that's it? We just wait to die?
Aaron Keener: Not if I can help it.
