I’m the calligrificator (they/them)
This is a calligraphy blog I set up to hold myself accountable and so I have somewhere to put all the things I write. I love any and all requests (I’m very chill, but if you want guidelines they’re under the cut). Just please send multiple requests in separate asks.
Current queue length*: ~26 days
*This means if you send a request today, it will be posted in this many days (give or take a couple). If you’ve already sent in a request, it will be less than that.
If this ever drops to below 7 days (14 posts) I will start posting only once a day.
For requests:
- no submitting slurs. If I accidentally write a really obscure one, please let me know and I will take it down
- otherwise, there isn’t any content you can’t request. Violence and sexual stuff is fine, but if I don’t vibe with it, I just won’t answer it.
- multiple requests are welcome, just please put them in multiple asks so I can answer them one at a time. No worries if you don’t do this, it’s just a little more convenient for me.
- I do take commissions for long asks! Send me a DM if you want to get one. Also prints and high quality scans might be available for stuff I’ve done in the past so again DM if interested :)
- the blackletter-adjacent font is my default one. I might change it up if I feel like the request fits a different font, but generally it will be blackletter in blue ink. If you have a preference for either color or font, just lmk and I’ll do my best.
- feel free to submit anything you’ve already requested from other scribes. I can’t promise it will be as good, but I can promise I’ll get to it in a somewhat timely manner (however long the queue length is)
- requests submitted via ask box get first priority, then via mentions, then via DMs, then via comments.
- if you want to keep seeing two posts per day, keep requesting things! Finding inspiration on my own is more work and I’m lazy (and busy as hell) so if the queue runs out of requests I’ll go back to just once per day.
Word count guidelines:
- basically just please submit anything you’d want to see in calligraphy, no matter the length. My willingness to write long things varies a lot, but I always enjoy seeing good quotes in my asks. That being said:
<10 words is guaranteed, I will absolutely write that out
10-20 words is HIGHLY probable. Maybe in some distant future when I have an unmanageable amount of requests I won’t do these, but I really can’t see that happening
20-30 words is iffy. I’ll still probably do it, with a better chance if I like the quote, but if I’m tired I may just do it in my normal handwriting or not at all
>30 words and I’ll almost always do it in normal handwriting or not at all. I still would love to see it in my asks tho!
Most importantly:
All of these things are guidelines. I may break any or all of them at any point. This is my blog and I’m going to do what I want on it.
