“Hey, sweetie… No…” Adore said, reaching out to stroke his arm. “Don’t cry, babe. We’re all going to be just fine.”

Zeke tried to take in a deep breath and just calm himself down. He wasn’t use to breaking down like this and when he did, he didn’t like people watching him do it. Not only the queen was watching him, but everyone through the cameras too.

“I mean, I’m pretty sure I’m going to be in a lot of legal trouble once this is over. Speaking positively, since I guess there’s always a chance we’ll all be murdered….”

Zeke snorted, but put his hand comfortingly on the other’s shoulders. “It’s not your fault; hopefully it’ll be okay and you can explain our hostage situation once we all get out of here.”

“I grew up in Azusa and I’ve never experienced shit like this…”

“There’s a grand difference between being bored and being dead. If you were bored, you could have gotten creative to change things around. Nothing is going to get better by itself, you know?”

“I know, I know… It’s horrible. I didn’t think– you know, I didn’t think this would happen when I said that they could hold an event here.”

“Those must have been the days. Once upon a time, when they didn’t kill drag queens for entertainment purposes. When ‘sickening’ was a compliment, rather than those images of dead friends, which are branded into my brain.”

“I mean, it wasn’t that great here before either.” he joked lightly, trying to make the other feel a little better. “Granted, there weren’t dead bodies hanging around but, with how boring it was, we may as well have been dead ourselves.”

“I think it’d be horrifying if you had. I’m sorry you’re sucked into this mess,” Courtney said sincerely.

Zeke smiled sheepishly at the other, grateful for her sincerity. “It’s not your fault. It’s just really crazy, you know? I mean, I’m sure you know since you’ve been stuck here too.”
