I Run The Runway

When a getaway that involved spa trips and being pampered like the queens they were was thrown into conversation, all her worries seemed to defuse in a blink of an eye. “Mmm, that sounds nice,” She purred in agreement, padding over to her lover’s side of the table and perching herself on his lap. “What do you say we take our lunch to-go and eat it up in our room? We can give each other mud masks and I may or may not have a bath bomb that I stole from Courtney a while back.”

“Are you suggesting that we do our own homemade version of a spa before we leave here?” The chestnut haired man asked, waving their waitress over, asking for their meal to go. “That’s a different type of facial from your usual, are you sure you want to change your beauty regimen?” He didn’t mean to slip into such a sexual demeanor, but he knew that Violet certainly wouldn’t complain about a little sexual flirtation. In fact, she lived for a good tease.

“Do you think…. that like, he saw it coming? Or are we dropping the truth bomb of all truth bombs on him?” Violet pressed purely out of curiosity because it sincerely didn’t matter whether or not he’d be thrown for a loop or not. Though she wished they could gain closure on good terms, the damage had already been done and there was no looking back at this point, only looking onwards. 

“I guess he saw it coming. He told me he was a bit uncomfortable with our closeness a while ago. Like… when we filmed the music video…” The makeup guru confessed to her younger lover. “Well, all I know and am sure of is that after this whole, big mess: we’re taking a long trip to the spa and going on a cruise so we can get some beauty rest and facials. Ooh, and be waited on hand and foot....”

Her lover’s reaction, both endearing and promising, was also worrisome when his ex-husband’s name was dropped, revealing that he too was concerned with cutting him out of the picture. “I have to help?” Violet echoed, face falling after she pulled herself out from the kiss. Sinking into her chair, she rested her chin on her palm and tapped the mahogany table with her acrylic claws in an anxious fashion.

Sure she was outspoken and bitchy but only when she needed to be, she wasn’t the type to go sniffing out drama so she can engage in cut throat confrontation. Yet this was most likely something that needed to be done and what kind of partner would she be if she abandoned Fame when he needed her most? “Okay, so… how do you say we go about that? What do you think his primary reaction would be? Will he want to kill me? Will he want to kill you? Or worse… is he going to cry and beg for you back? Like, what are we working with here?”

Shaking his head, Kurtis pursed his lips.·“Patrick is far too sweet for that. He’s also very... simple. He won’t put up a fight, but that’s not ·going to stop him from being upset and I really don’t like seeing anybody get emotional.” He didn’t want to mention that he, of course, still loved his ex husband, because it wasn’t important. What was important was that he now had Violet and only wanted her and that he needed Patrick out of the picture.

“Since he won’t put up a fight, I think we should just let him know. Just be honest with him and tell him that it really is over. I’ll sign the divorce papers and we’ll be done. Permanently done. And I know things didn’t end well between Patrick and I, but he deserves the truth.”

The pin up princess was baffled as to why she was so nervous anyways. Fame was the serious relationship type and loved her unconditionally, the proposal to move in together wouldn’t take her aback and scare her off. If anything she’d squeal out in agreement, kiss Violet all over in celebration and then start running off move-in plans and fantastical scenarios of their future domesticity.

But what if she didn’t? I mean, there was still Patrick, whom she knew the brand queen had been stressing severely over kicking out of the apartment. She couldn’t imagine having her new significant other move in would make it any easier for either of them.

Then there was if she did say yes. Violet wanted her to say yes of course, and though she had gotten over her lethal allergy to monogamy and commitment, there was still a part of her that would undergo an aching stomach whenever they approached another relationship checkpoint. Sometimes it was a good stomach ache because it was laced with excitement, but a stomach ache never the less.

When Fame greeted her and kissed her sweetly upon arrival, she hadn’t expected to erupt, but she had. There was no beating around the bush for she had quickly blurted; “I wanna move to New York…with you.” Blinking in astonishment of her own words, she continued to ensure that  the clarification was crystal, locking her sincere gaze to Fame’s. “I wanna move in with you in New York.”

But without noticing, the brunet was nodding his answer to the leather clad angel, reaching across the table to hold her shaking hands. “Of course! Yes!” He said excitedly. “I would never say no to having you move in with me. This is a huge step forward with us. Oh my god!” He stood and leaned across the table to kiss her. “You don’t have to be nervous, you just have to help me get Patrick out of my condo.”
