Interview: District 10-Caleb Dawes
GM Nausicaa: And now we have our boy from District 10, Caleb Dawes!
Caleb: *walks onstage shyly and sits down, blushing* H-h-hello. *hesitant smile* Is the mic on?
GM Nausicaa: *crowd laughs* Of course, come tell us all about yourself!
Caleb: *blushes* I'm a very bad public speaker, but I'm sure you all figured that out already.
GM Nausicaa: Oh, don't be nervous Caleb! We are all friends here...and from the looks of things you have a few friends in tonights audience! *crowd erupts in applause* So how are you liking the Capitol, is everything what you thought it would be?
Caleb: *smiles shyly at the applause* It's so much more than I expected, Nausicaa. It's a bit overwhelming, honestly, being around all of this luxury.
GM Nausicaa: It must be quite the shock, coming from District 10 to here...but I hope you have been enjoying yourself?
Caleb: I didn't think I would, to be honest. I was so nervous, terrified really, of the Hunger Games. Yet if I hadn't been reaped, then I would never have met some of the people that I have, and for that I will be forever thankful.
GM Nausicaa: And who have you met? Will you be working with them in the arena?
Caleb: The little boy from District 3, have you met him? He's everything I ever wanted in a little brother, and we'll be taking care of each other in the arena. *smiles weakly* That's the plan, anyway.
GM Nausicaa: Awh he is deliciously cute! I'm glad he has someone to protect him in the arena, I hate when a child that young is reaped... *crowds mutters agreement* What about your District Partner? Will you be working with her?
Caleb: No, all of my efforts are going to go towards helping Cole. Tallulah is very wonderful, but I just can't right now. *smiles slightly* There's nothing stronger than the bond between brothers.
GM Nausicaa: Of course, and I'm sure Tallulah can protect herself with that score of hers! *crowd laughs* Now Caleb, were you disappointed with your score? You failed to impress a sponsor but do you think you still have a chance to be crowned victor?
Caleb: Everyone has the same odds in that arena - one out of twenty-four. A number on a screen won't change that. The odds are neither for nor against me.
GM Nausicaa: That they do...you have a great chance, and maybe you have played the Game well... keeping your true talents hidden... do you want to share with us one of your secrets?
Caleb: Nausicaa it would hardly be a secret if I announced it on stage!
GM Nausicaa: *laughs* A girl can dream! But, I have to admit we will be watching you. Is there anything you want to say to the folks back home before you have to go?
Caleb: I would want them to never lose faith. Hope is eternal.
