So bro ended up finding out that his dad was killed due to the neglect of an oil company literal decades earlier than in my main au

He triiiied to do pro enviromental sht via protests, legislature, awareness and etc from a young age cuz of it. But due to his social standing amongst other factors it was very difficult for change to happen fast enough...

Needless to say he TRIED to sabotage a ship just to prevent them from harming the encironment/his home before a specific law could be passed... he failed!

So! He may have gotten caught and then had to defend himself then may have sort of uhm... kind of accidentally hit a guy too hard... and the guy didnt get back up...and then he panicked and escaped...

Yeahhh so Biancas shitty ex may have or may have not convinced him that he did kill the guy and that if he returned back home theyd also accuse his family of aiding him in that. So he left.

Traveled alone. Refusing to ever hoin any group or crew for long. Tried to be helpful. Got more hurt but still kept helping others. Became more and more closed off and alone.

Until he met a little otter trying to save a bird that was so clumsy he almost got hurt. And in the process of saving said otter got hurt himself. Ans then stayed on the octopod and wanted to return the favour. Ended up never leaving. Ended up finding a family.

IN LOVE with the concept of strange creatures!!! So amazed by how everything is all connected and wants to protect them all VERY MUCH. Doesnt understand the science od it all but he is VERY enthusiastic

As a young otter pup he witnessed his home kelp forest become damaged and threatened due to pollution. He would come to admire those in charge of the cleanup effort who helped them rebuild their home and vow to follow in their footsteps.

Very autistic about organizing missions and making sure no creature is left behind. Very kind.

VERY EXCITIED and single minded about missions, can often become so absorbed in them he can accidentally end up in danger! Or because he NEEDED to follow a really cool creature and ask them about their life. Siighhh. So smart, but so so stupid. The creature wasnt fonna shpw you its home it was gonna eat u bro 🥀

Thank you for sending this Anon! As you can probably tell it took me a VERY long time to get this project done. I tend to psyche myself out before I even start a project so that was one of the big reasons it didn't show up until now.

Another reason is the state of the blog. I've been very meticulously posting certain projects before others, so a lot of what I want to work on has to wait because this stuff has to be posted first to reintroduce new followers and kind of regain the current ones with properly pieced lore.

I have another post after this waiting in my drafts, so you guys will be seeing a lot more Gen 1 content for the next little while, while I set up the remainder of the Risen Arc (backstories). The majority of Risen is purely to explain Y.N. & Fale's backstories involving The Palace Clan (their family and the basis of the whole story aside from the Gen 1 Octonauts).

We will be deep diving into what happened to Captain Samara, as well as getting to know our villain/cryptid cast very very soon. So please sit back and relax as I put together the visuals for this story.

(Currently the posting date for the "novel" hasn't changed [ Dec. 1st 2026 ] (I will be posting weekly) but I'll let you guys know if anything does change as I am human and I've been going through a lot this year just to get this far in my writing/drawing process.)

For once I'm not counting on views. I'm trying solely to focus on getting the story together as well as the blog before the due date. I can't afford to be disappointed anymore, it's not productive especially when I'm trying to do what I love.

I know I’ve been absent for months, and I’m truly sorry about that. It’s just been a mix of schooling, my new job, and just generally spending more time with my friends and family.
