At age 10 y/n ran to eren’s house excitedly to show him her new favorite book(she and armin both had interests in what was past the walls etc), “look eren this new book i brought with me explains the idea of reincarnation and if those lover’s love was very strong it has the possibility to transcend multiple lifetimes until the lovers meet again!!” . although the 10 year old boy didn’t seem to believe or entertain the idea of it . “you actually believe in this y/n?” eren asked raising a brow catching the girl by surprise.

Telling her mom she’d be outside she ran out . It’s comical that eren had the same idea

“ HEY watch out!!” y/n who nearly injured herself further and Eren who had happened to be there at the right time … the two rolled down on the small hill when they finally stopped the boy groaned in pain helped the girl up while eren had his left hand in an “interesting spot” ‘ugh my head… huh what is that ? It feels soft ‘ he then squeezes this thing that feels this flat slightly warm thing squishes it again he then opens his eyes . “ y/n are you -uh… “ “Eren Jaeger… *showing him a death glare * Just what do you think you’re doing?!! … Y-You Pervert!!!!” She slapped him so hard you could hear it echo in the outdoors. “OW what the hell y/n ?! Seeing the gift box he had it finally clicked for carla she dramatically gasped and in a playful but smug tone ‘asked’ the question . “ Could it be? Yawning from waking up she groggily said “morning..”.

“Bye dad i’m out !” The (h/c) ran out of the door . ‘Geez.. why did father act like that ?’ (Earlier in the morning ) “phew, all set” proud of herself of making a dessert without needing to bake it . “Ok” showing her father a happy grin . As she ran out her father thought to himself ‘ Eren , you better make my little girl happy one day.. for some reason she smiles more when it involves you ‘ smiling at this thought her dad went back inside closing the door . (Flashback ends ) . Once arriving at their spot she spotted the brunette “ Eren!!” Waving at him with the biggest smile on her face he blushed . Worried that she’ll fall , y/n pulled the unexpected and walked up to him without falling . “Well , that’s new for once you actually didn’t need me to pick you up “ his words were to tease the young girl to get under her which it did . still laughing , at times he’d find it a tad bit annoying especially when she’d be smug with him after she won one of their games. But this time a different feeling arose ‘ S-She actually looks cute when she smiles’ heat rising on his cheeks and taken aback by this ‘weird feeling’.

“Well c’mon let’s go” humming in agreement both walked up to the grass next to the tree .

“Here “ shoving her gift box into his lap left the boy confused . Curious why she gave him a gift pushed that question aside and opened it up .

“ y/n what are these?” “Chocolate covered strawberries! I made them last night trying to think of a new thing you haven’t tried and this came up in my head” ‘ S-She made these for me ?” stunned she went this far “oi , eren” ‘geez he’s so helpless ..*lightbulb going off in her head * that’s it!’ . with a silent but nervous gulp y/n grabbed his chin which made his eyes widen “Y-Y/N what’re you-“ “S-Shut up open your mouth and eat one ..” y/n grabbed a strawberry put it into his mouth wondering what his opinion will be once he’s finishes.

Her face perked up with curiosity . “ huh you did?” Too embarrassed to answer he gave her his gift box . Once opened her eyes lit up ,

“is this -?” “Yeah it’s chocolate with cherries in them” ‘he got these for me ?, i never thought you’d be so sweet ‘ popping a piece into her mouth her face lit up with delight . “ mmm! *holding her cheek while y/n savors the taste*

It’s perfect eren ! thank you so much “ showing longtime friend a joyful smile made him blush and his heart would beat unusually fast .

Both of their breaths hitched, stunned at what just happened “y-y/n , do you realize what you just-“ w-well you had just an idiotic face p-plus i wanted you to try it too”. Both had such a hard time looking at each other their eyes averted from each other with an obvious blush on their cheeks. Trying to get away from their awkwardness around each other . both laid down looking at the clouds talking about how weird their parents are acting and mikasa being protective of eren .

“Y/N wake up “ “Armin?.. being roughly shaken the young girl asked groggily . “ Yeah it’s me .. hey y/n , did you have a nightmare ? You have tears in your eyes..” concerned for his friend ,

y/n touched her eyes confused why she has them in the first place . “ To be honest I don’t even know “ ‘ It’s been happening a lot lately ever since i turned 9 and whenever i wake up trying to remember it’s all a blur .. usually i either have happy dreams or nothing at all’ . Pushing her thoughts aside y/n brushed the dirt off her pants and offered the short blonde a hand “c’mon armin it’s getting dark i’m sure your grandpa is waiting for you .. i’ll walk you home “ though he still showed concern for his friend armin gave her a small smile happy that he’ll have company on the way home . Waking up the next morning y/n decided to braid her hair . “ It’s not something i do every time .. i don’t even remember the last time i did this “ happy she successfully did it herself . the girl was trying to remember what she was supposed to do . ‘Hmmm.. *snapping her fingers* oh thats right! mom wanted me to go to the bakery maybe i’ll run into eren or armin today ‘ joyful at the idea of it y/n had a random flashback. Laughing to herself “what’s gotten into me today ? First i braid my hair and now i’m in a skirt *giggling*’ finding humor at the thought she did a couple of peculiar things today regarding how she dressed and styled her hair . While walking towards ‘their’ favorite tree y/n was lost in her thoughts ‘ it would’ve been nice to see eren today , whenever we go to that spot we sometimes look at the clouds if there are any ‘ unaware she was pouting because she’d be alone today y/n heard footsteps “hm?” “Watch out !!” Running to catch the boy in time she saved them . “Ah geez..” wincing and rubbing his head for nearly injuring themselves. “ Hey are you alright ?” this kid her age might’ve hurt himself. “ yeah ..i’m alright ..” looking up he saw this cute girl who had braided her (h/c) hair and was wearing a pretty outfit to him this brunette haired boy staired at her cuteness while blushing . Y/N did the same as well but it was for a different reason she thought he was cute with his hair all messy .‘ she’s so pretty’ , “ Eren are you ok? “ with a soft voice the boy nodded

‘y/n? but she looks so different ‘ averting his eyes softly blushing “Y-Yeah “ “Good ! Let’s walk to our spot ok ?” showing him a pure smile . nodding in agreement he held out his hand . she was unaware that her cheeks were blushing and intertwined her hand with his smiling once more. ‘Damn it, what the hell is wrong with me ? was y/n always cute ? I was going to tease her for taking so long .. we’ve held hands before so why am i so nervous ? i don’t understand anything anymore ‘.. sitting down at their spot . Eren , Y/N and Armin : Age 9

“Huh? The sea?” Both Eren and Y/N asked at the same time, armin hummed “ A giant lake filled with so much saltwater the merchants could never collect it all” Y/N tilted her head similarly like eren had a hard time believing about such a thing.‘ A giant lake filled with salt ? ‘ curiously eren questioned in his thoughts “ Armin there-“ Y/N tried to interject but stopped herself when she saw the glee in his eyes. “Look here : Far beyond these walls, there’s flaming water land made of ice, and fields of sand spread wide… anyone who saw these things would be the freest person in the world” . Amazed at such a thing Y/N couldn’t help but grow interested in such a short but meaningful word … while eren and armin were lost in conversation Y/N couldn’t help but think of that word . ‘ Freedom… will we finally be free once these monsters (titans) are finally wiped out?’ ‘, sighing in content such an idea fascinated the young girl once the two young boys saw to look at their friend eren saw a new face he never saw before … it was as if the girl had a twinkle in her eyes .. an amazed smile as if though she was seeing what they can’t..

the expression surprised both boys . Now armins head slightly tilted … while humming in fascination the small girl finally spoke “ Freedom huh … such a short word and yet i can’t help but feel it’s such a powerful one “ slightly surprised eren then smiled and nodded in agreement . “ Yeah, there’s a whole world out there! Someday let’s all go see it together “ softly smiling both eren and Y/N agreed to this promise . “Eren ..“Hm?..” while unsure how to use the words she wants to say the (h/c) girl started telling him her current thoughts . “ I.. I can’t help but want this “freedom” . i believe what armin said .. about there being a whole new world that’s yet to be seen”. Eren then saw a new face she was showing him , one that shown him she was enchanted. enchanted that freedom is attainable but then he saw hint of sadness and anger . Nodding in agreement the boy continued “ Yeah.. i see what you’re getting at y/n , our freedom is possible but the titans are blocking it .. “ . While saying it in a calm tone y/n saw her friend clench one of his fists . ‘ Eren.. I feel the same way you do .. ‘ She looked at her emerald eyed friend with a sad expression.

Armin and Y/N Age 6

Deciding to take a shortcut to one of the quieter alleys. less people, less noise and more peace. at least that was the plan y/n had in mind until she heard voices. to the h/c h/l girl it sounded like a bunch of boys around her age angry at something/someone. curiosity got the better of the young girl getting closer she could hear the voices much clearer now. she saw a taller boy , he was no more than 7 or 8 .. the other boy was smaller than the bully he looked about y/n’s age. The 6 year old girl couldn’t understand why the older kid would bother to pick on the blonde kid. “you talk too much,” the big one said. “bet you cry when you get dirt on your shoes.” the smaller boy her age never did anything he just kept his head low y/n curiously thought ‘why isn’t he doing anything ? doesn’t he know that boy is gonna hurt him?’ coming back to reality the h/c girl heard the older bully running his mouth off wherever it took him . ‘ugh.. give me a break he’s so annoying’ the youth rubbed her temples with her fingers. the bully continued to mock the smaller blonde kid and that made her blood boil. unable to take any more of this abuse y/n deliberately used her head to knock the older on the ground with force . the older boy groaned in pain rubbing the back of his head . usually y/n tries to stay out of harms way knowing that her parents hate it when she fights . but the young girl hates injustice and when things like that get to her it’s not a pretty sight to be around. the one time in preschool a kid made fun of her for bringing a plushy that looked like a pink bunny calling y/n “stupid” and the toy “ugly”. it was in the playground eren noticed his first friend was getting ready to cry but the sobbing never came . before that 4 year old boy could think of touching her toy she slapped that younger bully . and it wasn’t a light one either .. no , she slapped as hard as a preschooler could the boy did nothing but sob in that sandbox while the boy sobbed loudly . while y/n told them what happened . “Oi , who do you think you are ?! this boy didn’t do anything wrong ! “ “shut up!”pushing the 6 year old one the ground . The older kid was about to tease her about how girls are all crybabies . but the tears never came , instead he only saw the girl glare at him and it wasn’t fleeting anger. for a happy and loving girl she was furious ‘ I want to hurt him ! i don’t care about me .. all i want is to make him pay for hurting others!!’ “hmph for someone bigger than me you’re pretty stupid , fighting a girl and a boy younger than you .. is it fun ?!” . The older kid was angry but he didn’t get a chance to hurt y/n . for a kid her size y/n made up for it by being quicker on her feet . and boy was she right the older kid was slow .. well slower than y/n . Kicking and punching his gut made him cry in pain . For what felt like ages the boy went at it with a 6 year old , the (h/c) girl had bruises and her lip was bleeding meanwhile the older kid was out of breath . “y-you give up yet? ha .. girls are so weak and stupid “. the blonde boy couldn’t help but be worried about about this girl who popped out of nowhere and picked a fight for someone bigger than her . “ I never give up .. because i was born into this world “ “besides you have no room to talk since you can’t stop shaking”. after that remark the older kid charged at y/n but the young girl was quicker all it took to end the fight was a swift kick and the bully was out cold . collecting herself she saw the boy who looked at her and she ran up to him crouching down . “Hey are you alright ? Did he hurt you? where does it hurt?” asking out of genuine concern the blonde boy shook his head “no .. i’m alright miss” “pfft .. miss i’m 6 years old i don’t think i’m that much older than you “.. the blonde you couldn’t help but notice that the h/c girl had a bright laugh . so he rubbed his head nervously confirming he’s six as well and that his name is armin .

“well armin i’m y/n , but why didn’t you defend yourself.. that boy bullied you because you never fought back .. are you really ok if you lose puzzled at the boy who seemed kindhearted but also looked like he wouldn’t hurt a fly . “but i didn’t lose y/n” that made the girl’s eyes slightly widen and muttered a “huh?”. “because i didn’t run “ “interesting” “b-but why did you help ? you got hurt badly because you fought him”. “ armin , that’s a stupid question.. i helped because i wanted to .. it’s because i was born into this world”. “c’mon armin starting today i wanna be your friend .. you don’t fight back but you didn’t run away either .. to me that counts as something .. I’ll take you home !” armin nodded happily and showed y/n where he lives . ‘I guess i’ll have to visit dr. Jaeger again .. ugh mother’s going to kill me ‘.
