Oh goodness, I don't know how long it's been since you asked, I'm so sorry! I'm not a huge Germany fan to be honest, my heart lies with Spain/Barcelona, USA, and Costa Rica lol. I've only been into soccer for a couple years. My husband (Costa Rican) has it in his blood. We were trying to come up with a boy name. We jokingly tried Game of Thrones names, then moved on to soccer player names. We were like "Lionel, Cristiano, Thierry? Lolno...Bastian? OMG IT SOUNDS GREAT!" I watched The Neverending Story all the time as a kid. The main character is named Bastian. So in the end, the name represents the good times of my childhood and my husband's love of soccer. If Baby is a boy we want to buy a little Schweinsteiger jersey in tribute :)
