simply, he nodded at her words before he began to work on finding the release mechanism. he had seen it a few times, but he's never really touched a bear trap in his life, so this may or may not work. though, he's hoping for the former. and his hope worked because the minute he managed to find the release mechanism, the bear trap had loosened and he gently grabbed her leg and removed it carefully. ❝ let's get you somewhere safe to wrap this wound up. i saw a cabin not too far from here that we can go to in order to do that. ❞ he was thanking god right now, that there were no walkers around them, or it would be a lot worse.

                  clearly the trap had been there for a long time. and it was almost shocking that a walker hadn't came walking into it already. instead, caroline's shit luck was the reason. she watched as he began to find the release for it and once he found it and it loosened up around her foot, the feeling of her leg had began to come back. and so did the pain. "yeah, alright." she nodded, attempting to get up slowly. something she had learned since the start of all of this was to never make too much noise. even if there wasn't any walkers around at the moment, surely there would be after a bunch of racket. "let's watch out for more of those." 

             something about him was charming. caroline couldn't figure it out but here they were, standing under a strand of mistletoe. now that she was complaining about it. she just wasn't sure if he wanted to kiss her or not. which is why she was letting him decide. there was no way she wanted to make him uncomfortable.  eyes closed as he leaned in, planting a soft kiss to her lightly blushed cheek. "thanks." the blonde smiled, looking up at him. "you know, if you ever do want to kiss me, you can."

so much had gone on; they were all separated after he had become sick from the virus they had at the prison, and then the governor had decided to attack and leave them to separate and find each other again. they did find each other again, though they also ended up finding themselves at a place that ate human beings, a place that was so cruel that he was glad they were able to escape unscathed. or so he hoped. ❝ ----- ..... what is safe anymore? ❞ he asked her. she had become like a sister to him, an added family member and he wasn't opposed to that at all. ❝ i don't know, honestly. but i do have some small hope that we do find somewhere safe. not only for us but for the kids to be kids. but i don't think they'll be able to be like kids with everything they've gone through. i'm sure judith may be able to grow up like a kid, but i highly doubt it. ❞

       why did she ever trust the governor in the first place? maybe because for once since the outbreak, she felt safe. and woodbury was a safe haven. and a place where normal was a thing for the most part. now here they were, back out there. in what she called 'hell.'  eyes glanced down though at glenn's words. nothing was safe, truly. at least maybe the safest place for a short time but there would either be the dead or those who want to strip them of that safe place.  " honestly, i have no idea." caroline replied. glenn was one person she could be honest with. someone she could easily talk to.  she generally felt for the kids growing up in this world. and knowing glenn was holding onto hope made her want to do the same. at least hope was still out there in some. " yeah. i think this world has shaped everyone into...growing up too fast." caroline frowned. "i doubt it too but...i guess if we ever find that safe place, all we can do is try, right?"
