Twin Peaks post cards for Twin Peaks' 20th anniversary made by Paul Willoughby
They should invent a method of asking for reassurance that nobody secretly hates you that doesn't make people secretly hate you.
this reply deserves to be here.
the best shot Iâve taken of blue pool to this day. itâs definitely cold, definitely worth getting in, and definitely one of the most beautiful places Iâve ever seen.

I suffered in agony making this /s /lh
the thing that happens to trans men's pasts is different from what happens to trans women's pasts, and i think the difference matters even though i almost never see anyone name it. trans women get their pasts thrown at them constantly. every conversation about whether trans women belong in women's spaces eventually drags out "but you grew up as a boy," like that's a gotcha, like twenty years ago is more real than right now. their history gets used against them. everyone knows this. it's one of the most recognizable forms of transmisogyny. trans men get the opposite. nobody throws our pasts at us. they just quietly pretend our pasts didn't happen. i lived as a girl for over two decades. i was treated like a girl. i was targeted like a girl. i was assaulted as someone the world had filed under "girl." and the second i came out, all of that became â what? practice? a rough cut? it's like people decided the person those things happened to was a character i was playing, and since i stopped playing her, the things that happened to her aren't mine to carry anymore. except my body doesn't work like that. my body still does all the shit it learned to do during those years. i still flinch at the same things. i still can't go into certain stores without my chest locking up. whatever people decided about the legitimacy of my girlhood, my nervous system was not consulted. and what actually pisses me off is that both of these things â dragging the past forward for trans women and deleting it for trans men â end up doing the same job. they both make sure trans people can't be whole. you either get chained to a version of yourself that never fit, or you get cut off from the version that did exist, and either way you end up with a gap where a continuous life should be. i don't have a clean ending for this because i don't think there is one yet.

It's always hard reading about the violence committed to steal America, but the buffalo is always like... That's some inhuman shit. Everyone is burning in hell for that one. Wdym there were thirty to sixty MILLION buffalo in 1800, and by 1900 there were only 300 left. THREE HUNDRED. Do you know, can you fathom the amount of purposeful cruelty required to kill NINETY NINE PERCENT of a population of an animal, just to spite and murder the living Native people who existed and thrived with them? All this, for White Power and Entitlement?? Sickening.
and never let anyone tell you that they didn't know what the effect of this would be on the native population- they knew exactly what they were doing, and their deliberate intent was etched into the very fabric of the economic system being built on this genocide.

Some narratives in international development hold that ending poverty and achieving good lives for all will require every country to reach t
iâve started looking at weight and health the way i look at class and income and it really puts a lot of things into a new perspective.
let me explain: in america at least, the lower class have significantly worse health outcomes, even when accounting for other factors. just being poor is enough to make your overall health worse. we donât know that being fat makes your health directly worse, like the data just isnât there, but for a moment, pretend it does.
imagine going to the doctor with a health problem and the doctor looking at your chart and saying well, this problem will be less severe if you go up an income bracket. have you thought about becoming rich? it would really help. start by saving a little money every month.
ridiculous, right?? very few people successfully go from working class to rich, it just doesnât happen on a large scale in society. maybe for a time you pick up some overtime hours, spend a little beyond your means, and appear rich. but eventually you burn out, your car needs to be repaired, and you return to being working class.
we do have this data: only some people can successfully lose large amounts of weight, and only a tiny fraction of people who lose that weight actually keep it off for more than a year. telling people to lose weight for their health is just absurd because they almost certainly canât do it any more than they can double their income for their health.
and yet i see it everywhere. a little poster in my work breakroom tells me to improve my blood pressure by losing weight! a psa on the radio says you need to take care of your heart by losing weight! we canât even conclusively prove that weight is the cause rather than just correlated with a lot of these problems but here it is offered anyway: have you tried being rich?
You hit the nail on the head. A lot of people tend to try and invalidate fatphobia as a form of oppression by saying its not an immutible quality like race or sexuality or gender. The old âyou can lose weight, i canât become white/straight/cisâ argument.
Thatâs because fatphobia is a lot more like classism; i.e. itâs a form of bigotry that is only TECHNICALLY changeable. Theyâre both seen as a lot more changeable than they actually are, for all the reasons youâve listed.
can we play touys together?
Wildflower season has arrived in the PNW

remember in p.e. when they'd take a bunch of insecure teenagers & be like "today we're going to play basketball" and then not teach you how to play basketball. and then put you in a group with guys who were obsessed with basketball and would get mad at you for not knowing how to play basketball. why did they do that

A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Letâs fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or donât pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
