Some places never disappear. They simply become impossible to hold.

They move through a light that reveals nothing. The sky seems to descend toward them, like still water stirred by memories. Their bodies float more than they walk. Something passes between them and us, a delicate veil, almost invisible. Perhaps childhood is not a place we leave behind. Perhaps it is simply a light that continues to pass through us. Theme song 1
In these two drawings, I tried to depict suspended moments. Air, light, and water occupy an important place. I do not want to create merely decorative settings, but settings charged with something, like a shifting substance, as if they too were entitled to a presence. At the same time, I do not want to represent them fully; I would like them to remain in the realm of apparition.

In this drawing, I wanted to portray silence. I was looking for a figure dissolving into its surroundings, struggling to appear. Despite the black and white, I wanted the image to feel unsettled, stirred by subtle currents, as if certain areas were quietly boiling beneath the surface, almost imperceptibly. theme song 1 2

I wanted to create an image where several states coexist without ever fully settling. Two very close presences, almost absorbed into one another, crossed by something coming both from outside and within. I didn’t think of this image as a narrative scene. More as an apparition in progress, a fragile form trying to hold itself together. The fire behind them is not really a background. It is more like an unstable light, an energy contaminating the image and transforming the bodies. I like the idea of the image remaining open, never completely fixed.

For a long time, I wondered what I should draw, and why. It is still a question that deeply concerns me. I draw from simple images, often connected to childhood or familiar landscapes. I transform them in order to make something emerge. I am not trying to narrate a scene, but to create a displacement. The figures remain recognizable, yet they are crossed through, altered, as if something else were acting through them. There is often an additional presence: a light, a form, an energy. Not as a symbol, but as something that appears suddenly. I am interested in that moment when the image shifts, when it becomes unstable, when it begins to produce a sensation rather than a narrative. What I do exists somewhere between apparition and transformation, images that are never completely fixed. theme song 1 2
Sometimes, faces return to me as blurry shapes. We remember a smile, a shadow, a ray of light… but never truly their features.
Just the impression of someone, which lingers.
When the outlines fade, the landscape becomes memory;
In my dreams, everything is blurry. I never retain the details, only the feeling, the breath of the places and faces that pass through me.
Some images seem to arrive from somewhere else.
Not entirely memories. Not entirely dreams.
Just a presence passing through, leaving colours behind. The red forms are not flames. They are closer to a current, an invisible force moving through the image.
