Morticia’s nervous tone was obvious and Jessica couldn’t help but notice it. However, she chose to continue on like it was nothing– if she mentioned it that wouldn’t probably only make things worse. “Aha…I mean I have a few friends who –” She shook her head. 

“It doesn’t matter! I’m one of the school’s tutors who can actually do their job right! ..Not that I’m bragging, the standards here are pretty low.” Most of the other student tutors didn’t want to really help, or they barely knew the material they were suppose to be teaching!

“So yeah, of course I’ll help! We just have to set up a time and place we both can agree on, then I’ll run you through the class notes. Theeen…we can start from there.”

       NOW THAT YOU’VE MENTIONED IT ... not that you’d be surprised.   (  as it almost does nothing at all nor does it react too much to the ... well, let’s say leftovers your grandfather leaves occasionally whenever he loiters around like a stray cat.   )    /   but that’s not the thing you’re supposed to be worried about now! keep it cool, keep it cool!  (  god-- she probably thinks i’m acting strange ... oh jeez, am i? am i?!   )

if  you  have  to  ask  if  it’s  valid,  then  it  probably  isn’t.  despite  her  wish  to  say  what’s  on  her  mind,  it  would  be  a  bother  to  have  to  continue  this  conversation  ——  which  was  going  nowhere.  ❝  i  suppose.  ❞  though,  with  the  tone  of  yukako’s  voice,  she  didn’t  sound  (  or  appear,  really  )  convinced.

Truthfully it was Mr.Goldenfold who had asked(demanded) that Jessica tutor Morticia for the upcoming math final. Not that she had any issue with that, she’d tutored a few classmates before.

 “Well…Mr.Goldenfold said you were struggling, and I kinda was waiting for you to ask me. I don’t like pressuring people into tutoring unless they really want to do it. I’ve been there. It’s really awkward to be pushed into a situation like that!” She shrugged a little as they walked. “But I also could’ve sworn I heard you cursing at your math test a few weeks ago…so I assumed you needed help anyway. Like I said though, it’s up to you! Despite what the teachers say, tutoring isn’t mandatory.”

Y-YEAH, I GUESS i-i was p-pretty loud doing that, too ....   ❜   so much for being evocative during these kind of times.  really impressive, morticia. they love it when their ‘ princes(ses) included them crying over simple math.     but! that wasn’t the thing that caught your attention, rather the next statement ... the mere thought of it: actual jessica, beautiful, pretty jessica helping you other than your loudmouthed teacher ... !   can this day get any better?! 

❛  ah,  sorry  about  that.  ❜    blade  is  sheathed  she  is  dislodged  from  the  electronic  practice  dummy  he’d  been  striking  to  the  point  of  near  sparks.  dark  eyne  settle  ‘pon  panicked  pair,  head  canting  slightly  to  the  side.  had  he  not  locked  the  training  room  doors  …  ??  he  takes  a  step  forward,  digits  striking  ‘gainst  metal  expanse  in  a  steady  rhythm.     ❛  i  hope  you  do  not  mind  me  asking,  but  how  did  you  get  in  here  ??  ❜

❛ … oh. ❜ technically, it should’ve been obvious that morticia did not literally mean “ break through the glass ceiling. “ —— for goodness sake, it’s a metaphor for crying out loud! ( when do you ever follow one of those?! hopefully, never! considering how some of them could kill you. ) at the others skittish - brimmed actions, amy couldn’t help but react in the same: pink - furred ears folding back, gloved hangs grasping together, playing with her fingers as if they were something far more interesting than the broken roof and scattered crystal around them. ❛ HEY, don’t be so upset! no need to apologize either, it’s all good! look, you may have not been too exact or clear on what we had to do, but we all make mistakes! throwing my hammer through the roof was something that i knew better than to do, yet did it anyway! we’re both at fault, things will work itself out! ❜ she is quick to jump back into that positive outview! it’s better to be optimistic than not, because falling into that dark mindset is neither healthy nor something both girls need. a soft smile decorating freckled features, full of care and love, with hands unconnecting to go hold the brunettes. ❛ trust me, alright? your grandpa is able to fix things, right? er, not “ fix “ them, but help make them good - as - new, right? if not, then we can go the old fashion way! good ol’ manual labor — we can do it, no matter what! ❜

     ALRIGHT, POINT TAKEN! SAVE THE METAPHORS for poems and stories next time!   (    perhaps it was not the best idea to study english this way ...    )   you have one hundred thoughts and ninety - nine are just scolds and scolds from mother / father’s mouth.   (   not that that’d be something completely foreign. the sheer thought of it was simply ... sickening, like the same, cold coffee you’re going to drink every single morning, no variety or change, it’s an eternal thing like the same song playing for centuries.     )     /     but still, stand firm! she tells you that it’s alright, and it is!     (     although words, to you, only possessed meaning if they’re sharp.    )

“Huh?” He glances back, squinting at the approaching young girl and heaves a groan. Was it really much to ask to not have a sign on him that said ‘HEY LOOK AT ME IM FRIENDLY!’? Sweeping his messy hair back with a dismissive stare, the elder merely shakes his head before answering. “I could uh, I could say the same about all Mortys- Look, I don’t have a sign on me that says I’ll help o-okay kid?”

Then again, a lost Morty was probably a bad idea– Wait was this even a Morty? He leans down and gives her a look over before blinking. “You’re not a normal dimensional Morty, alright, I barely know t-this place so; Where would he go anyways…? Give me some clues, and what do you go by?”

      ANXIETY SWALLOWS YOU and its stomach’s got prickling needles that pierce your skin! guilt washes over you like a riptide as you hurriedly blurt out almost incoherent apologies,    ❛  S-SORRY ... ! i s-should have a-asked a cop, o-or something b-but i really t-thought you were my rick ---- w-which was probably kind of d-dumb considering---   ❜  swift shake of the head, fists clenching like tight ropes.   ❛  a-ah ... ! nevermind ...y-you really don’t have to if you d-don’t wanna, but ...    ❜

Hearing the timid voice behind her, Jessica stopped and glanced over. Her expression lit up slightly. “Oh! Hey Morticia.” Walking to math sounded like a pretty reasonable request. “..Yeah sure, I don’t see why not!”  Jessica couldn’t help but feel like there was something else lingering on the girl’s mind. 

Then it hit her. “Ah wait-…you needed a math tutor right?” That had to have been it. Morticia was probably just too shy to come out right and ask!
