Funny enough, been thinking of Leona's naked neck cause of his haircut in his playful lanpd card. But he got a vest that hides it. And I just love how he shows his neck in his new card, so, I wanted to draw something cute.
Do not let Leona being too sexy, must be protected XD.

A second pink-colored line crept onto the paper and stained into an almost deep red. It was undeniable. You were pregnant.
You had been feeling sick for a while and you thought you were just bloated. It wasn’t until you missed your period for the third time in a row that you thought perhaps something was wrong and had gotten a pregnancy test just in case.
Fuuuuucccccc…
You stare at it as you sit on the toilet seat. Malleus wasn’t human so you didn’t think you could get pregnant. But clearly, he was human enough and now you were freaking out.
Calm down. Calm down.
You rock yourself back and forth. Would the child look like a fish-man hybrid? Could you just give it for adoption? Should you just get an abortion and call it a day?
None of these options felt right. Maybe the townspeople know something about mermaid-human relationships…?
Last resort.
You were not telling the town, or even subtly hinting that you’ve been fucking their sea siren at night, which led to his song sounding strange as of late. You didn’t even tell them that their precious siren is a man.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding in as your head makes a soft thunk when landing on the bathroom wall.
I should talk to Malleus first.
He was as smug as ever as you walked down the creaking steps and onto the shore where he was waiting.
“I believe it’s been a week.”
Right. It’s Friday.
Having intercourse with a normal man was tiring. Having intercourse with a sea creature of legend was downright exhausting and left you unable to properly walk for the rest of your weekend. So in order to make sure you could still manage to go to work, you had designated one night out of the week just for him. He had, of course, thrown a fit and demanded you submit yourself to him whenever he pleased. But one shouting match and red handprint on his cheek later, he had relented.
His tail flaps eagerly behind him as he eyes you without shame. You’re rubbing your arm as you walk up to him and can’t look at him straight.
“Why do you look away? Has my unparalleled beauty left you speechless?”
You didn’t even hear him properly, too preoccupied with what you were going to tell him.
It’ll be like ripping off a band-aid.
“No… I’m pregnant.”
You finally turn to face him. His tail has stilled, but his smile remains.
“Pardon?”
Your pupils dart to the left and then the right before centering back on him.
Do they have a different word for that?
As soon as you open your mouth to speak, Malleus beats you to it.
“Do you even know the meaning of that word?”
Yes?!
“If I didn’t know the meaning, I wouldn’t be using it to describe me.”
You cross your arms as you glare at him.
“I suppose that means we won’t be…”
“No. We won’t.”
His grin wavers for the first time. For once, you’re the one with a feeling of superiority, but that’s quickly dashed as he splashes back into the ocean.
Oh.
You think he’ll resurface, but there hasn’t even been a single ripple on the waves to indicate he was still here.
You wait for a few more minutes and even throw a rock into the waves, hoping it’ll land on his head.
“Malleus?”
The wind carries away your question and you’re left with silence.
A week has passed and still no sign of Malleus. You’re trying to hold on, really you are, but it sucks to know that he’s just dipped on you like that. Even though you don’t have to anymore, you stick by the routine he had set. You always arrive home as the moon is just about to kiss the sky and the stars have begun to shine.
“Malleus!”
You call out to the sea, but there’s no response.
What should I do…
You sigh as you sit on the shore. Waves are tugged back and forth by the moon as you watch them with your knees up to your chest.
That jerk.
You had already gone to a doctor’s appointment after work and even gotten an ultrasound. Healthy children. Perfectly normal and human passing.
Where did he go…
Splish!
You look up as you see horns emerging from a nearby ripple. Malleus looks far too serious. His lips are pursued together and he looks like he’s swam a marathon. His chest heaves rapidly as he tries to keep his breathing even.
“My pearl, why are you upset?”
You stare at him in shock.
“Because you ditched me when I told you I was pregnant?!”
“I did not ‘ditch’ you.”
“Then, what do you call jumping into the sea and disappearing for a week!”
“I didn’t…”
His head sinks back into the water out of shame. Only his eyes are visible as he looks away and begins to mumble underwater.
“I can’t hear you!”
You’re not backing down either as you scramble to your feet to shout at him at a closer range. He finally pops slightly out of the water.
“Sorry.”
“Say it to my face.”
He glares back at you, but you know you have the upper-hand. He huffs as he concedes.
“I apologize…”
He didn’t sound too sincere, but it was better than nothing.
“I’ll accept your apology. But it still doesn't answer why you swam out on me.”
“I did not abandon you!”
He stays adamant and the weather begins to turn for the worse with wind picking up and the waves becoming slightly faster. You sigh as you decide to believe him. However, you're not letting up. You're too curious about what he could've been doing for a week and why he was so out of breath.
“Fine, but that doesn’t change the fact that you left.”
Your voice becomes softer as you try to lower yourself to his eye level.
“Can you at least tell me why?”
He dips back into the water before emerging with a small vial. He uncorks the glass and an atrocious scent fills your nostrils as you gag. Your sense of smell has improved with your messy hormones and now even perfume was too much for you, much less pungent odors.
“Y/N, are you alright?!”
You keep your hand on your mouth as you nod. He sounds afraid? You’ve never heard him with any mood beyond arrogant, enraged, and horny.
“Just… what is that?”
“It’s a transformation potion. For me.”
You cock an eyebrow at him, but he doesn’t elaborate, choosing to only ask you one question.
“Are you truly pregnant?”
Yes idiot!
But you keep your mouth shut and nod with the stench stunning you into silence.
He downs the vial without a second thought as you cringe in disgust. Small coughs escape his lips as you wonder if you should pat his back or move out of the way of a possible splash zone. And not the water kind.
“It shall take some time. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay, but-”
He’s already dipping back underwater. You sigh as you think of how this man will never change. He’s always too eager to act without ever taking input from others.
Whatever. I’ll see you tomorrow too, I guess.
Your front door is already open. Your eye twitches as you watch the door haphazardly swing back and forth in the wind before slamming back against the door frame. You came home early today because you had just gone out for a supply run in the city, only to be greeted by a home invasion.
Do I call the cops?
You look back at the shore and then at your house.
I doubt anyone would actually break in. I probably left the door unlocked.
But you know you didn't.
Your hand hovers on the emergency button on your phone as you slowly make your way towards your home. You peak inside and your eyes widen reflexively. There’s seagulls roosting on your sofa. Your balcony door is also left wide open as more birds, sort of, freely move in and out. There’s water dripping from the second story and creating puddles on your furniture and hardwood flooring.
W-what…
FFFFZZZ!
You squeak in terror as you hear electricity zapping through the house that causes all the lights in your home to fizzle out and die. Your flick the light switch in vain as it seems your home has thoroughly lost power.
What’s happening?!
You rush upstairs to the bathroom where you assume all the water is coming from and dripping downstairs. You don’t even have to push open the door as you can already see two dark horns adorning jet-black hair from in between the gap.
“Malleus?”
You see his back stiffen through the plain button-up he’s wearing. He slowly turns around to face you with wide eyes.
“H-hello…”
You push open the bathroom door and see Malleus standing in front of a broken bathtub with an even more damaged faucet. The water pipe is disconnected from whatever remains of the tub and flies in the air from the sheer water pressure. You rush past him and quickly turn off the water. The pipe slowly returns to the floor and the water finally stops gushing out.
You tangle both of your hands in your hair as you finally look at Malleus.
Tall, handsome, and actually covered up like a normal human being with a white shirt and a pair of slacks. His horns are gone, even though you swore you saw them when you were peeking through the door.
“You’re-!”
He sheepishly looks away. A faint blush dusts his cheeks.
“My apologies once again, child of man.”
“You have legs!”
You’re freaking out as you shout and gesture to his lower body frantically.
“You’re in my house! You’re on land!”
He looks at you like you’re the weird one before sighing and shaking his head.
“I drank the transformation potion in front of you yesterday. It was only a matter of time before I gained legs.”
So that’s what that nasty liquid was?!
“Why… why did you do that?”
“Because I cherish you.”
You don’t even know what to say. He starts to lose confidence in his decision as he waits for your response. He’s acting like it’s normal. That this is something any mer-person would do for their lover.
“But you love the sea.”
“You carry my offspring and go where I cannot follow.”
He stares at you with a tenderness that was different from your previous interactions. You feel a strange, warm emotion starting to blossom in your chest
“You want to keep them?”
He looks at you like you've grown a second head.
“Yes? Although, it seems I may have caused undue stress.”
He gazes at the smithereens of the bathtub as it lays in a pool of its own water. You cringe as you think of how soaked the wood must be and-
The seagulls!
They're probably eating and pooping on everything!
You rush back downstairs and see they're doing exactly that as they screech at each other.
“Shoo! Go away!”
You try to intimidate them as you wave your arms around and shout at them. They fly momentarily from your approaching figure, only to land a few feet away and continue their shenanigans.
“That's how you scare away these flying nuisances? You’ll never get rid of them like this."
Snap.
Malleus snaps his fingers and the wind picks up. His arm slides securely across your waist as he keeps you snug against him. The seagulls that were flying struggle to hover in the air before he starts zapping them.
“No! Don't do that!”
You rip his arms off of you and he’s immediately ceasing his wind magic. The seagulls flop onto the ground from the wind gusts suddenly dying and from some of them trying not to die as they shake unnaturally from the electricity they had been subjected to.
You cradle the closest seagull to you that's started spasming on the floor from the electric shock. The others manage to recover and fly away in fear, quickly vacating your home.
“Why would you do that?!”
Malleus looks at you with narrowed eyes as he watches you give unnecessary compassion to a creature unworthy of it.
“Why? It's just a short-lived pest. Its life is meaningless compared to yours or mine.”
“No, it's not! Don't say that!”
Luckily the bird is able to recover its senses enough that you're able to help it stand upright. It squawks as you take it to the balcony and let it rest on the floor for a bit before it's able to fly away on its own.
You turn to look at Malleus with perplexing emotions: shock, fear, confusion.
He really still does look down on everything…
“Malleus, what am I to you…?”
“You are my mate.”
Is that enough to make me his equal…?
He tilts his head to the side as he notices you still giving him that odd look.
“Beastie, what plagues your thoughts?”
You shake your head.
“I'm fine. Just hungry.”
He's immediately distracted by your topic change. His fingers hold his chin as he thinks. He looks embarrassed again and it’s making you nervous.
“Ah… I made something earlier.”
It's a sad excuse for a lasagna. He must have found a cookbook left by the previous owner that you hadn’t bothered to read. You poke the cheesy upper layer with your fork and watch it deflate.
“Malleus.”
“Yes.”
“How did it do that?"
“Is that not what it normally does?”
“No…”
“It must have been those treacherous birds’ doing.”
He scoffs as he glances at the balcony they all fled from. However, even though the sorry state of the lasagna could be blamed on their behavior - the feathers mixing in the layers, the holes from their bills pecking at it, and the imprints of their little feet - the rest of the lasagna was definitely Malleus’ doing.
“Malleus, I'm assuming merpeople don't cook under the sea, do they?”
“What do you mean? Ashengrotto cooks all the time.”
Then how on earth are you this bad?! And who’s Ashengrotto?!
“My apologies for it not being edible anymore.”
Malleus mourns as you pick up the lasagna and head towards the trash can.
“It’s okay. You tried your best.”
You let out a breath of relief as you close the lid of the trash can on that meal, if it could even be called that. You needed to thank those seagulls later.
“I shall make you another one this instant to make up for it.”
“No, it's okay. Really…”
There really was nothing for Malleus to do at home. He could clean your house (or flood it), he could read books and try to do home renovations (or destroy your home), or he could spend time wistfully looking at the sea. You had been eating out to avoid Malleus’ cooking and he hadn't tried making anything that extreme again. The first thing he ended up mastering was grilling and seasoning fish, even though he had to relearn how to catch them in his new form. You decided that since he was so eager to learn that maybe you could have him become one of Martha’s students?
“Oh! Oh… Hello.”
You give Martha a nervous laugh as you see even her radiant smile faltering at how creepy Malleus’ expression was as he analyzed her.
“A pleasure to meet you.”
“Likewise.”
She extends a hand and you nudge Malleus’ arm with your elbow so he’ll take the hint. Luckily, he’s greeting her in kind and shaking her hand albeit very loosely.
“So, I am right to assume this is your place of business?”
“Ah…”
You give Martha a pleading look and she’s quickly nodding along and smiling again.
“Yes! This is my diner, my pride and joy!”
You had already called Martha the night before, asking if she was willing to take Malleus as an apprentice until he could finally cook something else besides fish. He had the work ethic and the determination, perhaps he just lacked a proper teacher? And Martha was all too eager to have a student and second-help at the diner.
“This is…”
He’s eyeing the pie in a display container warily as he examines it from the right and the left.
“Oh, interested, are ya? That’s just a coconut cream pie. Nothing fancy.”
“It’s somewhat familiar…”
His eyes continue to narrow as he leans in closer to the pie. His breath has started to fog up the glass as he bends over the container while you and Martha look on in concern. Martha had only recently put a single dessert item on the menu at your behest: coconut cream pie. It was something she would make in childhood until her father had passed at sea in The Great Disaster.
Uh…
You start to nervously laugh again, but Martha is patting your hand and reassuring you.
“I always love a student who shows some interest. Don’t worry, dearie. He’ll be in good hands.”
You start getting teary-eyed. The extra hormones make you emotional at how sweet everyone in town is being to you, while Martha only laughs and hugs you. You hear Malleus mumbling something too low for you to hear as he finally stops scrutinizing the creamy pie. However, the moment Martha detaches from you, Malleus is clinging to your side and rubbing his cheek into the crown of your head. You freeze when you hear him purring and don't even look at Martha.
She definitely knows he’s not human…
But even if she did, she doesn't mention it and only lets out a prideful laugh.
“You two remind me of me and my first husband!”
Your face heats up and you try to push Malleus off of you with a gentle shove on his chest, but he hisses at you and brings you in tighter.
“D-did you just hiss at me?”
“No…”
Once you're able to pry Malleus off of you, who pouts like you've never given him affection before, you wave to them as you leave them alone together for the day.
You fully expected the diner to be burnt to a crisp, but to your surprise, Martha is putting up a full cake and pies on the counter.
“Woah. What's the occasion?”
“Aw Y/N! You're here just in time!”
She pats flour off her hands before rubbing the rest off onto her apron as she rushes towards you.
“Come. See for yourself!”
She takes your hand and leads you into the kitchen.
“I've never thought of having a dessert menu because I've never been confident enough, but look!”
You find Malleus with specks of frosting on an apron and a piping bag in hand. He's decorating a cake with so much focus that he doesn't even realize you're here.
“Wow, Malleus! It's perfect!”
He wipes his brow as he takes a step back to get a better look at the piped sheet cake.
“It is!”
Martha exclaims with glee before she swoops it away. You move to the side to let her pass by you and into the front of the diner. Malleus beams at you as he sees you're finally back from work.
“You're here.”
His voice is so soft and gentle that you somewhat bristled at the loving peck he gave you on the forehead. It’s something you still weren’t used to with how condescending he used to be to you and still was with others.
“Martha had said you could pick any of the cakes you wanted and we could take it home together.”
You had seen a certain cake that had caught your eye in the front. It was decorated with your favorite color and had roses to match its winding vines that covered the majority of the cake’s side.
“She said it was your birthday.”
He says as he's grabbing at your purse and trying to tug it off of your shoulder. You sigh and hold the strap to motion for him to stop.
“I can carry it just fine.”
He pouts and refuses to relent so you slide it off of your shoulder and hand it to him.
“Malleus, did you make that cake in front too?”
He tilts his head as you point to the one that had taken your fancy. His eyes lock onto it and he's happily nodding and smiling.
“I was hoping you would choose that one. I made it with you in mind.”
“O-oh.”
Ah… He's too cute…
Martha laughs when she sees the start of a blush on your cheeks from behind the display counter that only makes your face fully explode with red.
“M-Malleus, I'll wait for you outside.”
“But it's cold out…”
“I'll be fine! I'm too warm right now!”
You rush outside and wait for him to come out. He walks out with a stoic expression that bursts into joy when his eyes land on you once more.
Don't do that…
He hums a gentle tune as you two walk home with him carrying the cake, your purse, more leftovers from the diner, and luckily nothing else. Your face stays a faint red as he continues to hold you close to him with his free arm.
“I think you need two hands to carry the cake…”
“Would you prefer I carry you and use magic for the rest?”
“... No…”
He finally notices how flustered you are with the way you're bringing your scarf up to cover the lower half of your face.
His little pearl. How cute you are.
Prepare for the amount of teasing you're going to suffer tonight.

Listen yandere Ridder x delinquent/bad/troublemaker/opposite of him yuu i think it going be fun
Yesssss!!!
Rule breaker! Don’t break my heart!
Yandere riddle x rebel! Reader
Warnings! Mentioned of troubled background, reader will have they/them pronouns, reader will be known as yuu, yandere riddle, a bit of deuce x reader, fighting mentioned, boxing mention, talking bad about self, isolation
They were always in a collar with ace. It never failed, youll always find Yuu fighting with someone. And there would be riddle ready to collar them. But oh did they love that cat and cat fight. Or cat and hedgehog fight, since riddle looks like a hedgehog to them when he gets mad. But deuce being deuce he’s trying to get yuu out of their old ways.
“Yeah yeah, I don’t care. If I can’t use magic then why should I care? Grim uses magic not me. Remember deucey?” Yuu says making paper airplanes while deuce tries to tutor them. “Yuu, you have hands. Grim has paws. You need to know this stuff too. And don’t call me deucey.” Deuce says as yuu throws the paper airplane. “And stop turning your homework into paper airplanes! Is housewaren riddle sees you he’ll-”
“Yeah yeah, ‘off with your head!’ I know I know. And I don’t care.” Yuu says with a smile as they place their chin on their hands. “You’re so cute when you’re upset deucey.” Yuu says making deuce’s face turn red.
“If you have time to flirt, then you have time to study.” Said a voice behind the two of them. Riddle stood with his arms crossed as deuce flinched at the sight of him. “H-housewaren! We weren’t flirting!” Deuce says panicked. “Deuce lower your voice, we’re in a library.” Riddle says sternly as deuce nods.
“I’m surprised you knowing what flirting is supposed to look like riddle. You’re usually too busy with a stick up your butt to care about romance.” Yuu says with a smirk, deuce looks at yuu in horror for what they said. While riddle…
Riddle just looked calm. He’s too used to their attitude and a certain eel’s too. “Your words have no effect on me yuu. I suggest you get to studying before I punish you.” Riddle tells them as they chuckle. “Oh I would, but my study time is up. So I’ll be going.” Yuu says grabbing their bag with a smirk. “And before I go.” They turn and kiss deuce on the lips. Deuce’s eyes widen in shock while riddle gasped.
Yuu pulls away and winks at deuce. “Bye deucey.” They say as they walk out of the library. “Yuu! You can’t be kissing in the library! Get back here!” Riddle says going after them leaving deuce by himself to rethink everything in his life.
….
Later at heartstabyul court was being held. “Please bring the accused!” Riddle says as cater grabs deuce and puts him on the stand. “HUH?! Wait wait what did I do?!” Deuce says panicking about what was going on. “Deuce spade you are charged with breaking rule 27, no student is to have a romantic relationship without permission of their housewaren. This isn’t a heartstabyul rule…it’s a school rule.” Trey says standing up as riddle smirks down at deuce.
“Housewaren. Your sentence?” Trey looks up at riddle who stands from his chair. “Off with his head.” Riddle smiles waving his staff to put a collar on deuce’s neck. “N-NO! Housewaren please! Me and yuu aren’t together I swear! They kissed me!” Deuce says as other students dragged deuce away to his room. Ace watched from the stands then sneaked out to call yuu.
“Dude, first off. You kissed deuce?!” Ace says into the phone. “Yeah? And? His lips are pretty soft not gonna lie.” Yuu laughs through the phone as they feed grim. “Yeah well you got him collared.” Ace tells them making yuu freeze. “The fuck you talking about ace?” Yuu says standing up as grim looks up as he eats. “Dude apparently you have to ask your housewaren to date. School rule. Which leads me to two…” ace clears his throat.
“WHY JUCIE AND NOT ME IM MORE HANDSOMER THAN HIM?!” Ace yells through the phone. Yuu rolls their eyes. “I’m not dating him. And its deuce not juice. Stupid. Whatever I’ll go see riddle tomorrow and talk to him. Damn what a baby. Bet the queen of hearts didn’t put a rule on kissing someone.” Yuu says as they hung up the phone and grumble to themselves.
The next day yuu went to heartstabyul early to talk to riddle. They knock on his door to his room. He opens it and smirks. “Hm, I was wondering how long it would take for you to come knocking. Come in.” Riddle says letting yuu into his room. “Listen drama Queen, if anyone should be collared it should be me. Me and deuce aren’t dating. I only kissed him to piss you off. And it clearly worked.” Yuu says with and a chuckle. Riddle shuts the door and faces them. “Oh I know, I held that trail to speak with you about something.” Riddle says offering them a seat.
Yuu takes it and crosses their arms. “I’ll take his collar off right this moment. If…” riddle gets in close to yuu. “If?” Yuu repeats. “If you agree to be mine. I know I can fix you.” Riddle says with a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. “Seriously?! No way!” Yuu says standing up to get away from him. “Okay maybe I need to say it again. Be mine. Or I’ll collar Ace as well.” Riddle says crossing his arms.
“You’re insane for even thinking threatening my friends will make me yours riddle.” Yuu says as riddle chuckles. “We prefer the term mad in heartstabyul. And I know many ways to make them both miserable. Your choice.” Riddle says as he sits down and drinks his morning tea. “Fuck you riddle.” Yuu says storming out of heartstabyul.
Later that day ace showed up to class with a collar as well. “The hell I thought you talked to riddle?” Ace yells them. “I did. But he asked me to do something and I had to refuse.” Yuu says rolling their eyes as they fixed grim’s little lab coat. “Well whatever it was it better than been worth it.” Ace tells them as deuce shakes his head.
After class the trio walked out together. “Hey yuu…maybe you and grim should go on ahead…we forgot to ask the professor something..” deuce says causing yuu to look at her strangely. “Don’t tell me your scared deuce. You used to be a punk too, don’t let this red hair mommy issue having prick make you scared.” Yuu says walking up to the two boys. “Yuu…you being you…hurts us. I’m sorry, but…honor students shouldnt…” deuce trails off.
“Say it. Say it you fucking coward.” Yuu says with their voice shaking. Ace looks away not able to watch anymore. “Honor students shouldnt hang around delinquents.” Deuce says then suddenly yuu pins him to the wall. Others stopped to watch the two when crewel walked out. “What is going on out here?!” Crewel shouted at the students. “Nothing professor…deuce just…deuce is…I…” Yuu was lost for words and couldn’t answer. “Let spade go prefect. And get to your next class.” Crewel orders them, they let go of deuce’s collar then storms off.
“Henchhuman..” grim hops onto their shoulder as they walked off knowing very well they weren’t going to their next class. Yuu dropped grim off at trein’s class and informed him that they weren’t feeling well.
Back at ramshackle Yuu drops their stuff and goes to the basement of ramshackle. Wrapping their hands in tape they had a boxing bag down there. It was a way to get their anger out and not get into fights. For grim’s sake. They started punching the bag.
Again.
And again.
And again.
All until the tape was starting to come loose on their knuckles, with one last punch the throw the bag down and started knocking everything down in their path. “WHY?! Why am I always the bad guy?! Stuipd deuce! Stupid ace! Stupid….STUIPD RIDDLE!” Yuu cries as they sit in the mess they made as they sobbed into their hands. “I can’t do nothing right…all I’m good for is fighting and causing trouble…” Yuu sobs as they hold their knees close to their chest.
“Yuu…there’s someone at the door.” Said a ghost from above the basement. They wipes their tears and looked around, they’ll clean up later. Heading up stairs they open the front door and there was Trey. “Hey yuu…heard about what happened with ace and deuce..” Trey says with a sad look on his face. “I brought some cookies..we can talk about it, or you take the cookies and tell me to go away. Whatever you want.” He says, yuu thinks for a moment then steps aside to let him in.
They both sit at the kitchen table with tea brewing on the stove. “Don’t you have class right now Trey?” Yuu asked him as they were making tea. “Nah, it’s a free period so I thought I’d check on you.” He says as they pour him tea and brings it over to him. “Thanks I guess…you didnt have to do this..” Yuu says as they take a cookie and start eating it. “Hey it’s not a problem, you’re a freshman too…the third years should look out for you too.” Trey tells them as they nod. “T-thanks…” yuu says as their voice started to shake again.
“But I don’t deserve it…deuce is right…he and Ace shouldnt hang around me. I’m nothing, but trouble..deuce wants nothing to do with this kind of life I have. What kind of a friend keeps messing with that?! It’s because of me theyre both in a collar!” Yuu says as they started to sob again. Trey gently places a hand on their back and started rubbing it. “Shh…shh…you’re okay…it’s not your fault, you realizing what you did is good. It’s a good way to heal…many of us just don’t want to see you get hurt, that’s all..” Trey says softly as he takes a napkin and started to wipe their tears.
“But I keep hurting deuce and ace! What if I hurt grim too?! Then what?! What if I do someone so bad it gets us both expelled?! It’ll take away his dream of becoming a great mage! How do I stop being an awful person trey?” Yuu asked him as they look up at him desperately needing an answer. “It starts with doing the right thing..” he tells them giving them one last hug before leaving to go to his next class.
‘The next right thing..’ that phrasing will haunt yuu for the next few days.
Day one: Jack stops coming around thinking if he hangs around yuu it can mess with him getting to run in track
Day three: Vil heard about the fight and told Epel to give yuu space because he knows they get Epel into wanting to fight with them. Though it was more like Vil didn’t want Epel near ace and deuce because he was pissed off of how they treated yuu.
Day six: ortho has been showing yuu websites and online lectures about choosing non-violence options. They told Idia and he had to tell ortho to just leave yuu alone
Day eight: Lilia had to smack Sebek on the head because he said that it’s their fault for losing their friends like this and that malleus shouldnt be around them at all. Silver and malleus both apologized to yuu about sebek.
At the start of the new week yuu went to the equestrian club’s stables. Spotting silver they walk over to him. “Silver…is riddle here?” Yuu asked quietly, they hadn’t been sleeping well at all. They looked…
Weak.
“Yeah…he should be inside the stables…are you okay?” Silver asked before letting yuu go. “I’m fine..I just need to talk to him, pretty sure he’s…he’s the only one that can help me at this point…” yuu says with a nod then heads into the stables. Walking in riddle was brushing the mane of his horse. He noticed yuu walking in then sets down the brush. “Yuu. Wasnt expecting to see you today.” Riddle says as yuu looks down.
“Riddle…do you…can I ask you something?” Yuu asks not moving. He nods making them take a deep breath. “Did you do something to deuce and ace like you said you would since I told you I didn’t want to be with you?” Yuu asks him as riddle’s eyes widen. “Excuse me? Did you actually think I would go through with that?” Riddle crosses his arms insulted. Yuu flinched at his reaction. “Wait so you didn’t…then that means…they just don’t want to be my friends anymore..” Yuu looks down feeling like they were about to cry, right then riddle’s horse licks the side of their face. “Then they’re not worth it. They’re not worth your tears prefect.” Riddle says as he climbs on top of his horse. He reaches out his hand for them to take. “Come, I wanna show you something.” He says helping them onto the horse.
He rode off from the stables and took Yuu to a clearing in the woods. “I’d expect something like this from Jade you know?” Yuu says as riddle helps them off the horse. “I come here to think, and there’s a river so yeah..” riddle clears his throat bringing his horse to the river to drink some water. “So…all your friends…” riddle starts as yuu nods.
“Yeah…I basically only have grim now. I wanna change riddle…but I don’t know how.” Yuu sighs as they lean against a tree. “Did you know…that the king of hearts was actually the biggest rule breaker in the queen of hearts kingdom? No matter what punishment she gave him he kept coming back…until she asked what he wanted. His answer was her hand in marriage…” riddle says to yuu not looking at them. “Really? I didn’t know that…so he changed only for her then…” Yuu says as the story makes them think.
“Yes…yuu I was serious about wanting to be with. Maybe…with time, I can’t help you like the queen helped the king…” riddle says looking up at them and walking over. “Please, I promise to treat you with nothing, but love. No one shall ever hurt you. You don’t have to fight anymore, let me fight for you.” Riddle says kneeling down while holding their hands.
It was a scene straight out of a romance novel. The area was beautiful, and the boy with laying his heart out for his beloved.
If only riddle was telling the truth, the king of hearts was ever a trouble maker. If he was the queen would have had his head a long time ago. Oh no, the queen of hearts was always the boss and the king did whatever the queen wanted. Just like that, that’s how riddle will be with Yuu.
No longer a rule breaker. Now they’ll follow his rules to the tee thanks to deuce and ace being out of the picture.
Oh right, that’s another thing he lied about. He did threaten them and then he spoke to Jack, sebek and epel as well. All to get yuu to think it’s their fault they’re losing their friends so that they would come crawling to him.
“Maybe being with you won’t be so bad…I’m sorry for doubting you riddle..” yuu tells him causing him to stand up. “Not to worry, I shall protect you from those that mean to do you harm….my rose.”
Author’s note: and that’s another yandere riddle in the bag! I think I have one more request for riddle after this! I’m also nearing 400 followers too! I have a poll going on so go vote!!
yan! twisted wonderland x gn! reader─poor you, even after death, couldn't get a proper rest. instead, you were pulled from limbo by a sleazy headmage and became his school's caretaker under one condition: that he helped you find your killer. though that proved to be difficult, especially when you unwittingly garnered the dangerous affection from many individuals.
HEARTSLABYUL EDITION!
having an academy chock-full of boys that had yet to fully comprehend the responsibility of magic and their unresolved mental issues was not a good idea, even in theory.
you, a ghost bound by a vengeance that bled from your head, were unlucky enough to land yourself as the one to take charge of the school's clinic. your own problems hadn't been solved yet, but that birdbrained crowley decided to rope you into more mayhem.
oh well, you knew the gig by now: ensure the students stay in good shape, and he would help you remember who was in charge of your wretched existence.
sounds easy right? no, because apparently, a magicless human and a fire-vomitting beast enrolled this year, thus setting of a chain of overblotting never seen before in centuries.
you grimaced when your blood-stained fingers clutched against the list, eyes narrowed onto the name engraved with black ink.
heartslabyul, the dorm built on the spirit of strictness of queen of hearts, honored her by obeying the ridiculous rules she had created.
this dorm wasn't that troublesome to you on the physical aspect, with most students from there going to you for injuries from trivial stuff, like getting their fingers pricked by the horns laying in the rose bushes, or daily events like brawling.
what concerned you the most, however, was the mental health of these living beings. in the recent years, they never failed to show up at your clinic to rant about the cruelty of their housewarden, who you had heard from other ghosts was named riddle rosehearts.
ever since riddle took the reins, he had been ruling over the dorm with an iron fist, quite literally when he utilized his signature spell as a punishment every time someone made the foolish mistake of breaking the rules. freshman? off with your head! only remembered the first 500 rules (which was an impressive feat on its own)? off with your head!
the only impression you got from their words was how pitiful this housewarden was: using that much magic daily was extremely unhealthy, and you were even baffled when checking through the records to see he had never been admitted to the infirmary before.
that boy was going to end up dead on the floor one day with this influx of collared students using you as a therapist (not that you entirely minded since… that was your job). however, you were practically powerless outside the suffocating confines of the clinic, so you decided your best bet was to threaten the shit out of that botched crow.
"greetings my dear employee who I oh so graciously allow a place to stay-"
"WOAH WOAH WOAH PUT THE SWORD DOWN!"
that was what the students heard echoing through the hallways, bouncing from the office of the headmage. you weren't fond of that memory much, certainly not the best moment in your undead life, but as long as you took off this sudden burden of being others' therapist, you would gladly trim off crowley's feathers with your sword again.
that was also how you were permitted to move more freely, through the walls of the library and up the stairs. you were highly careful in your attempt not to be spotted by other students, especially by the freshmen who had yet to familiarize themselves with the sight of a bloody, sword-lodged-in-the-head ghost. the sword had been there for as long as you could remember, and only you could pull it off, though the bleeding would intensify, so it rarely left.
that was how your relationship with riddle began, a first meeting in the library, with you carrying some books per professor trein's request, which coincided with the time he spent there for self-studying. you almost shed tears of joy at the sheer effortlesslness at finding him, thinking you would have withered if forced to chat with another entity any longer.
"studying history?" it had been decades since you properly held a proper conversation with another individual that wasn't just you being commanded or inquired of something. your eyes darted to the high stack of books on the table, o-shaped lips highlighted your surprise at youngsters' hardworking nature these days. he merely nodded in return, deep inside his preparation for the upcoming exams.
"oh, this part is wrong, the mutiny against red royals didn't occur until...." your index finger pointed onto the timeline, frowning at the audacity of the publishers to approve such blatant misfortune in the first place. being a forgotten relic of the past, you were passionate about history, or rather, the modern perspective of the important events of the past. it acted like an anchor amidst your seemingly eternal servitude, something you took pride in other than your basic knowledge about healing potions. as you went off on a rant about how overlooking even the smallest detail could cause a collapse in the future generations' awareness of students, you failed to notice how riddle stared at you.
intently.
being the oblivious spirit, you failed to realize how famous you were in reality. the time you spent with crowley, and other students who didn't appear to care for you that much had dampened your already nonexistent self-esteem.
you were a fascinating subject for riddle to hear of: the vengeful ghost that was chained to the very bricks of NRC, who had forgotten what caused their lingering desires in the first place. a mystery to be cracked, a puzzle waiting to be solved, any intellectual student would die to meet you.
that was why he counted himself a lucky man when you approached him, and the very first thing he knew of you was your passion for history. those hands stained with blood, origin unknown, guided him with a gentleness he was sure you used to comfort others, especially the unruly rule-breakers from his dorm.
at first, he regarded you with the same light most ghost staff were perceived, a helpful ally to lessen the burden of the school, nothing more. however, riddle wasn't a fool not to realize your insistence on spending time with him outside of studying. for the first time, ever since he was 8, the red-haired housewarden got a friend who didn't look at him with fear or defiance.
your gaze, always on the verge of spilling tears, viewed him with friendliness; sickeningly sweet care oozed through each and every one of their movement. it confused him greatly, for what he had achieved to be lavished with such attention from you? you often inquired about his health, advised him not to overwork himself and his magic, even taking it upon yourself to ensure he had a restful sleep. he had been so familiar with the knowledge of your constant presence, like how one would sleep with their pillow, that he would never assume his fellow dormmates would harbor the same budding feelings for the ghost.
no one took from the queen without consequences, and disaster befell the students who had thanked you profusely for 'making riddle more lenient '. so that was why you were so soft with him, offering the smiles that brightened his days even after tests he felt unsatisfied with? that was your ploy all along, to rip out his heart from the ribcage and toy with it in your blood-stained fingers, chuckling at your own frivolous attempts to make tea for him, wasn't it?
what a coy ghost, seems like even those contractual chains couldn't stop you from wreaking havoc. no worries, riddle had taken it upon himself to discipline you. just a bit of sternness, and you would finally grant him the privilege of sincerity.
the queen of hearts and her king were known to have a brutally honest relationship, no?
accompanying riddle on your misadventure was trey clover. you encountered him while messing around with sam's shop, and your interest was piqued when you realized the heartslabyul uniform he donned. oh? was this the vice housewarden you usually heard of? the student who, for mysterious circumstances, wasn't allowed to give you a chance of introductions at all? luck must have been in your favor! after all, your priority was to calm down riddle; it was best to know of the people he associated with.
you greeted him by helping sam collect his groceries, keeping it as natural as possible. since he assumed the role of the mediator, you both would get along well in no time, perfect for your mission.
"you like baking?" you exclaimed with those same o-shaped lips, feet grazed the ground as your hands clasped behind your back. there was a chuckle in response to your question, as you looked over him curiously. was....what you said humorous? from his perspective, it was, considering you had partaken in collecting his shopping list, so you should have at least kept in mind what he bought. in your defense, the phantom sensation of bleeding did render your thinking slower than usual.
'strange....' your eyes darted towards your surroundings, not wanting to understand the complicated mind of youngsters these days. that repeated phrase made you feel old, but it was true that you struggled a lot in adapting to the modern world. that confusion was what caused you not to notice the way trey was examining you, eyes swept over your bloody form.
so this was who stole riddle's heart.
trey approached you with purpose at first. the one riddle he had talked about oh so fondly, the one responsible for the fury he unleashed onto others one day, the one that could soothe his moods as easily as dampen them, you were disruptive to the order that had been established for two years in the dorm. your ruckus wasn't akin to a storm, noticeable at first glance, no. it was more similar to the snake that infiltrated eden garden, subtly nudging the humans towards a false promise of decadence.
he didn't blame you, for from his observation, you were genuine in your intentions to help riddle get better. in contrast to the rash red-haired boy that lost half of his mind upon the fragments of conversation he eavesdropped, trey was much calmer. he saw your actions, all done to help riddle become a better version of himself.
things he was too cowardly to do.
you were meek, easy to be swayed by pressure, and quick to get emotional over the smallest things, and yet, a ghost that couldn't even stand still on the ground without slipping, had put more effort into helping his childhood friend get better.
but your friendship, or at least that was how you spoke of it, was not healthy. trey had seen the consequences of that; he had seen how riddle's fists clutched so slightly when he expressed his desire to meet you, the crestfallen expression he donned in your absence. (after all, you were one busy caretaker!)
you had the housewarden on a leash, and you didn't even know it, smiling absentmindedly when you test-tasted the treats he prepared for parties and recounted things you considered interesting, by your vintage standards.
trey didn't mean it to be some sort of secret rendezvous behind riddle's back, but he knew the housewarden would never allow him to properly chat with you. you didn't need to know that, though, just give him those amused praises of yours, yeah?
you didn't need to know how fixated he was on wiping the invisible crumbs from your mouth. oh, your poor thing, the headmage must have overworked even after your death with all those brash students, so quick to get injured. no worries, trey was a sensible person, he was the fraternal figure to many of the freshmen in his dorm, after all!
he understood your burdens really, so don't scold him when you realized the subtle fatigue you felt each time after sneakily whisking away his desserts, thinking your ghostly identity helped you get away easily. what a sweet ghost, so eager to fix others without expecting a reward in return. for that, trey took it upon himself to look after you. worrying about a toothache? not in his watch, trey was very serious about your oral health, like he did the same with others. except his fingers lingered longer than they should around those oddly sharp teeth. what a beautiful preservation of time, and he was so lucky to be alive to witness it.
don't ask too much about his shady ingredients, you cared for him, like how you were with riddle, didn't you?
you didn't understand technology, and since your previous friends (you hung out a lot, so that should be considered friends, right? or did these younglings have a different view on allyship now?) weren't, in the lack of better terms, chronically online, you expected not to deal with such hassle.
that was until you were ambushed, like actually jumped from behind, while in the middle of appreciating the fine sculptural art of the pink flamingos by none other than cater diamond. of course, that was a hyperbolic statement, considering his body went right through you and his head hit against the porcelain thing, much to your dismay. wait, the statuette let out a squeak in response......how long had you been staring at a living, breathing flamingo without noticing? you really needed to get your eyesight checked.
back to your problem, you managed to catch the ginger (ew) before he fell headfirst onto the ground via your ghostly powers. you had heard tales where ghosts obtained outstanding magic, such as stunning their opponents through a slap, but you were stuck here with little telekinesis and a sword going right through your head, which could be used to fight theoretically, but the bloodshed that followed was exhausting.
"thanks mx. ghost!" you could practically feel his grin, and alarm sounded off in your body, for you had been faced with the epitome of your fear: social students. riddle and trey were both quiet, letting the silence simmer between you two like a mutal understanding, while this guy.....
you helped him get up and, 'confronted', if you regarded threatening to pull the sword out from your brain and smacking his head as that, why he decided to choose such an ungoldly way to approach you, decades of being trapped here, and the world seemed to never run out of surprise for you.
his answer was nothing short of confusion, something along the lines of 'wanting to check out the cute nurse that had stolen the hearts of many', which was a blatant lie since many would be dead by now. and one unique thing about cater: he spoke in this weird language you couldn't understand.
"what a shame ghosts couldn't be captured through magicam, otherwise others would see your #moemaxxing." he sighed melodramatically, and you had to uphold your power to keep the impression that he was leaning against your shoulders. was this how young people spoke these days? you had many things to learn about outside of the mundane routines of assigning students the same treatment over and over again.
"i would take it as a compliment....thanks...." you stepped an inch from him, looking increduosly at the increasing influx of modern slangs and the repition of hashtags in sentences.
despite the hazardous first impression, you promptly saw right through cater's facade. what? keeping up a persona in front of you, a ghost with experience in dealing with mental issues, was like offering a fish to swim. still, you didn't utter a word about that, allowing him to drag you everywhere he went as he pleased. you were here to fix riddle, but it turned out that this whole dorm was as mentally unstable as one another. oh well, the less work you would get, the more your heart opened, not in a literal way.
riddle's words painted a perfect picture of who you were in his head, so cater wasn't surprised by your indifferent antics. so ghosts could be camera-shy despite not being able to be captured by them, so cute! you were willing to hear out what his social-obsessed ass had to say, doing a bad job at hiding your growing confusion. you didn't know what the internet was, trying your hardest not to cast him a judgemental glance whenever he showed you the newest trend.
old-fashioned, that was how ghosts were, so it was no surprise to him that you were close to the housewarden. there was a clear distinction between being inactive on most platforms and being technology-blinded, and you fell into the latter spectrum. cater had lost count of the amount of time you accidentally possessed his phone in an attempt to learn more about his interests. oh? so you didn't know how to use your magic well? so cute!
his fixation with the notion of being adorable didn't slip past you, especially when you weren't objectively not so, blood-stained fingers and a sword right through your head; you would feel weirded out if someone called you cute. this was your current situation, when cater seemed mournful about your inability to change outfit, something you lied to him about without regret. anyone who paid ramshackle a little attention would know its ghastly residents changed into different costumes on halloween. besides, you were comfortable in the outfit you currently donned, though it wasn't the same one you died in.
"because i am oh so gracious, i shall give you a new garment to fit in with the school more!" crowley had said that, after pulling you from a ritual he did. you had no recollections of your past life, and before meeting him, you were a mindless, wandering ghost of limbo. he had promised to help you find the owner of the sword, in exchage that you helping him bandage up his students. what a fancy way to lure free in labor, you chuckled bitterly at the thought.
you were zoning out again, and though cater might not show it outwardly, he assumed he had bored you with his yapping, which was bad. he was the social butterfly, cay-cay, it would be rude for the heartslabyul's guest to feel their spirit dampened in his presence. in an effort to compensate for something that wasn't his fault, he would be more persistent in spending more time with you. you occasionally left him in the dust to hang out with trey or riddle, or to tend to those silly freshmen. however, each time before your departure, you would always profusely apologize to him, as though his existence around you wasn't bothersome, as though you welcomed him into your world. don't look at him with concerned eyes, don't say that you were anxious for his health, don't make him too attached!
you were the nurse, you said? well, that meant being injured would help him spend more time with you, no? please, don't be surprised by the sharp rise in the time he had to go to your clinic for wounds that ranged from insignificant to severe. you were worried sick for him; he knew that, through the continuous lectures you reserved for him and him only as your hands curled around his wrists, allowing the potion to do its job. How ironic, those fingers marked with the unmistakable sign of violence were deliberate and kind in the way they guided him back to full health.
you cared a lot about others, and it hurt him so painfully to see that he was no exception to you. no worries, he could always bounce back with his signature spell: leaving a clone of him back in the dorm as he lay on the comfortable mattress of the infirmary, hearing you fretting over his impairments.
for you, cater would bash his head against the walls several times, so continue to look after him with that pitiful look in your eyes, wouldn't you? would be a shame to see the social lives of many students ruined by spending too much time around you.
back to the present, when you were reading the paper sent to you by crowley. apparently, the newest addition to the prestigious institute had caused supposedly irreversible damage to the chandelier in the cafeteria. unsurprisingly, to anyone who had known crowley well, the responsibility of cleaning it up fell onto you. you could feel your stomach ache again at the prospect of more work to do. how did they manage to destroy it? what a reckless batch of new students.
speak of the devil, he shall appear in the form of three humans being dragged to the infirmary alongside a whining feline creature the following afternoon. you fingers itched against the hilt of not-really-your sword, because words told that these freshmen had attempted to retrieve a magic stone from the abandoned mine and injured themselves in the triumph of defeating a monster there.
what annoyed you the most was the stubbornness of ace trappola in refusing to take the medicine you provided because of how bitter it tasted. he complained, almost aggged, and let out protests of unfairness when you swiftly shoved a spoonful into his mouth. you glared at his partners in crime, who were on the verge of laughing, as though you threatened to do the same if they refused to cooperate.
deuce spade was much more compliant, though you noticed he did habour fear, somewhat, to the prescription you provided. he tried to act brave, though ace realized that right away and kept on teasing him. had it not been for the obvious blot stains and scratches on their outfits, it would have been more believable to conclude that they got enoigh energy for another brawl.
at the sound of you clicking your tongue impatiently, the blue-haired boy profusely apologized, muttering something with the lines of 'an honor student' under his breath. ace, on the other hand, didn't display the slightest hint of remorse, and you only sighed in defeat.
yuu, the magicless human, was… weird. they remained silent all the time, dull eyes stared at you as you examined their body. no scratches, they must have stayed behind during the feud due to their helplessness. grim rudely interrupted the process and began to inquire why you were scanning his henchuman so intently.
"mister grim, i'm a nurse...." you gave up on this group, but at least they showed some semblance of camaraderie, something highly lacking in NRC. you thought of them as trouble-makers, but also good friends, and hoped that you wouldn't have to meet them a lot in the infirmary.
meanwhile, ace was interested to see that the one that half of his seniors swooned over was a ghost! his brother had told him about you, though only fragments of rumors and information, during his studies at the academy. the general consensus was that:
you had a sickass sword.
and your potions tasted disgusting.
seriously, out of all the flavors you could use, you decided to go with that unfiltered, raw taste of mismatched herbs? seriously? what kind of period did you live in? oh right, you were a ghost, many apologies. he could feel deuce and grim laughing at his reaction, but they hadn't even had a lick of the liquid yet. he was convinced this was how crowley allowed legal poisoning to take place on the campus.
over the course of time, he would find himself back in the infirmary a lot. it wasn't his fault that his group would be roped into so many overblots. every time, you would appear without fail, pathetic eyes scrunched in annoyance briefly before they were filled with concern.
how did cater manage to handle this, ace didn't understand. that two-faced senior of his would always be sighted in your clinic, did he not feel the sourness of your medicine?
"love makes people stupid, ace." his brother once said, and he figured that could be applied to his entire dorm. even his housewarden was head over heels for you, talking about a spoiled brat with mother issues being infatuated with someone who assumed the role of a caretaker.
yuck!
ace thought he was special by treating you like nothing. psst, playing hard to get? no way! he just regarded you with the so-called annoying professionalism, not like he feared the tart taste of your medicine threatening to strike his taste buds. when he unfortunately got collared by the rose-red tyrant, he sought you out to gain information on riddle's weaknesses, a reason you were so baffled about you couldn't even muster a word.
of course, you weren't the type to sell out those you deemed your friends, so you gently inquired of him what had happened, and it surprised you to see riddle still retain that temperature. weird, he was normally relaxing (around you), maybe this year's rule breakers were more than the previous ones. having remembered a few rules, you advised him to return what he had stolen, though you were quick to add that 'anything but a chestnut tart on unbirthday party'.
ace was… surprised at your willingness. he assumed ghosts would be more mischievous, and though he should have considered you boring, paling in comparison to your fellow spirits, he felt grateful to at least escape his punishments. without your suggestion, he would have ruined an otherwise perfect unbirthday party. however, when you met a volcano fated to erupt, you could only do so much to stop it. troublemakers were bound to cause some later on, and guess what rule ace broke? flowers in the garden must never be picked on wednesdays.
the reason could be traced back to, unexpectedly, you. what? the trappola never owed anyone anything, so he dreamily plucked roses from the bushes to set up a magic trick to surprise you as a thank-you gift for the previous suggestion. he totally didn't think of the way your face would light up, tearfully expressing your gratitude as you moved the roses to replace the mundane flowers in the vases. he so did it for platonic reasons, only! as though he wasn't giddy at the thought of you being caught off guard by him, in awe of his family's tricks. he could play pranks under your nose, and you would only scold him in the same soft tone that had never risen, except to the lazy headmage. it was so fun to rile you up, causing you to contemplate what choices you had made that led to these silly moments with him.
if anything, deuce was the one smitten, not him! so don't blame him when students started to get scared off your infirmary for some not-so-harmless tricks he pulled on them. what? he was creating less work for you; be grateful!
"....HOW DID YOU CAUSE YOUR HOUSEWARDEN TO OVERBLOT!?" there you were, in that concerned timbre. shout at him more, acknowledge him, don't just regard him as another of your patients!
prepare for trouble, and make it double! deuce was determined to make up for the headaches his friend group had caused you by that chandelier accident. in NRC's language, that would normally be translated into more work for you. the blue-haired boy became your errand boy, willing to run to sam's shop whenever you asked for more empty bottles. he even forgot to take the thaumarks you left on the counter in a rush. what a freshman.
there would be nothing remarkable about him from your personal perspective, had you not witnessed the violent side of him while attempting to transport the money. in this institute, hostility was the norm, and a weakling like you would usually be dragged into escalating situations. while strolling, a.k.a floating in your case, through the campus where the great sevens' statues were positioned neatly, some savanclaw students ended up attempting to pull your sword out from your head for their sick entertainment.
you were prepared to deal with this as per usual, until deuce landed a harsh punch on one of the guys' faces. woah! no one in this school was normal! you thought the obvious as you leaned against a statue, watching the fight going on. normally, you would try to dissipate the situation, but the mob had viewed you like an object, meant to be made a fool of to amuse them, so you pretended you saw and heard nothing. crowley knew better than to interfere with your decisions in controlling the students' behaviors, anyways.
deuce had feared you would see him in another light, so he prepared for you to step back in fear or in scorn. instead, all he got was some patting on his head, and your hands against his head to check for injuries. you were a ghost living for centuries, he realized, and there were bloodshed that decorated you, so such a simple thing wouldn't guarantee a reaction from you. besides, you understood him, didn't you? you two both had violent pasts and were currently trying to redeem yourselves through different means. you had mended that macarbe canvas of your body into a solace for the students here, a living proof that he could still have a second chance after what he had done in the past.
"i can handle myself." you remarked, a sigh of relief upon seeing no wounds on deuce. your face leaned dangerously close to his face as you observed the spade near his eyes. manually hand-drawn, you wondered if that was the current trend, or if he did that to fit with the aesthetic of his dorm. such an enthusiastic dedication was quite rare and appreciated in your world.
"what are you waiting for? let's go pay mr. sam back." you added, already turning your back on him, conveniently preventing you from noticing the blush coating his face, or the stuttering of his words.
"yes...yes....mx. [name]." polite, wouldn't be so bad to have an errand boy after all, was your conclusion. it took him quite a long time to register what happened, and to catch up with the slow rhythmical floating of your figure.
sweet deuce would constantly volunteer to help you around, much to the teasing of his friend. you had grown familiar with his presence, tossing your ingredients and shopping list into his arms. he was your most loyal one, so don't mind it when there was an increase in students visiting your clinic with the same punching marks on their bodies. they insulted you, looking down on you as though you weren't the only comfortable entity that was kind enough to look after them. they had it coming, really, and you didn't reprimand him about the use of violence during situations where he protected your honor.
he would help you around with that, so keep being busy checking for the prescriptions while he was threatening the students not to ever dare to think of touching even one strand of your hair again. when you turned around, he morphed back to the clumsy try-to-be honor student you knew!
phew! dealing with heartslabyul gave you quite a headache, though you didn't mind these polite students! as long as there wouldn't be a chain of accidents targeting the players of the upcoming magical spelldrive tournament!
wait a minute.
there was.
you were itching to flay that ugly crow. so close.
━━━━ 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅.
it was funny, wasn't it?
you said my death haunted you, tormented you in the rest of your fleeting existence. you spoke of my passing like it was an accident, like it wasn't something you had actively participated in.
we both knew that wasn't the truth. you remembered me only for your fragile ego.
to deny the true nature of my death was to continue in indulging in a delusion, wherein i was incapable of negative feelings, where i only served to love you.
grieving me made you feel, no, believe you were better, that you were but a human puppeted by cruel fate. thinking of me like i was a tragedy, a ballad that ended on a sad note, did that feed your insatiable vanity?
perhaps you were right; you had become more human, more adept at emotions, more susceptible to the woes of the living.
all of that, at the expense of me.
𝐚/𝐮: this is what ive been working on instead of my other series the brainworms got to me #fuckmybakalife
While drawing doctor riddle, i had a thought about what if deuce got injured while working as a magic enforcer and ace had to bring him to a hospital and they accidentally met riddle again. Cue riddle’s disapproving stare.
Ogs know i made adult designs for adeuce last year but shhhh consider this an alternative timeline where ace works as a magic analyst and he’s partnered with deuce. That’s why their hairstyles are different lol.

Not trying to sound rude or whatever but I've seen a lot of people questioning if The creator (neko) used generative ai to some backgrounds mostly the cafe
Since they have seen extra details and Other things that aren't supposed to be "there"
I just wanted to know if it's true or not because of them putting out random accusations on the internet :( (I really love ur art style neko!)
Tazz: Hey there!
No AI of any kind is used in any part of the game.
Just one very overworked cat (Neko). Fortunately, Destiny will be assisting with backgrounds and a few comics to help take some of that work off Neko!
Neko: Fun fact: I had a lot more time to work on MC's room and the café (and the café was supposed to be much bigger) because they weren't for this game, haha
So I am absolutely sucker for the hunchback of notre dame, and hellfire is one of my most favorite songs in and movie EVER so I had to do well here without making a fully colored and rendered drawing because I would die lol.
(This part is related to my personal story I made up for my yuu/oc)
Since in my mind yuu, the player, wears a esmerelda themed attire I see Rollo, just like Frollo a somewhat obsession due to their magiclessnes which is basically a perfect human to him, but they are 'tainted' by magic traces of the nrc students they surround themselves with, which leaves Rollo conflicted and disgusted with himself for such emotions.
