For far too long, people have downplayed their own abilities, given hero-worship to organizations, and treated leaders as gods

One of the reasons I push back on people putting me up on some pedestal is because I know I am a leader.

I'm not currently the leader OF anything other than my own household. But that's going to change, hopefully in very short order.

When it does, the last thing in the world is for my organization to receive hero worship or for me to be treated as some sort of God.

All I will have done is replace other organizations and leaders with me. And that's what dictators do.

And I Fucking HATE dictators.

I am a person

Any organization I lead is a group doing a job. No matter how good we do or how important our work is, we will just be a group of people doing a job

And even if we take down billionaires on the regular, all we did is make regular people stop doing harm. They were not giants and I am no giant slayer. What I am is a person showing another person a better path and helping them get onto that path.

I don't need hero worship. I don't need worship at all.

That being said, a lot of the people I will take on absolutely do like to be worshipped and treated like gods and one of the best ways to take a human like this down is to ensure that they know that you know how fragile they are.

I *may* insist that THEY drop to their knees for me.

I may show a side of myself that's more dominant and assertive than any of you have seen

But make no mistake

In that moment; I am a person, talking to another person, in the way that I know they need to be talked to in order to get them off whatever pedestal or high horse they've put themselves on.

I'm very good at what I do. I'm good at everything, because I've had lots of time to study and practice. Do not worship me, go get practice of your own and you will be good at everything too. It's not that hard and I'm not special. You are smarter and more capable and better than you think you are. Confidence is free and effort is worth what you have to put into it.

I say all this to say this:

I'm going to be hard at work once I finish my third book.

I need to be able to afford to live

I'm just a girl. Thanks to my decades of practice seeing the root cause of certain problems, I've been able to notice certain paths to make certain problems go away.

But in order to make that happen, I'm going to pretty much constantly need help. I can't do this by myself.

Peaches and apples ya got by the truckload! The peaches are maybe a bit smaller here than on Abelia but they've got heart! You gonna tell me you never took the sweetness of a peach and the sourness of an apple and..

Well OK the drizzle is a little complicated b'cuz ya needs ta make 'em separately and combine 'em when you pour. But I know some of ya can make a fine drizzle with a bit-a fruit, water, heat, honey/sugar/sweetener and some time. Time seems to be the strongest magic in this universe. It can create anything and destroy anything! So use your time magic in that pot and watch your syrups take shape! Some places combine the syrups into one but my favorite place (was in my favorite city but it seems the city moved) they pour them separately and it's so much better 😍

as someone with the ability to somewhat lucid dream, would i be at an advantage in learning/controlling intention magic?

as someone whose lucid dreaming seems to mostly be held back by a lack of awareness, waking up too soon, and most importantly, hypophantasia, would that last thing be a detriment to using intention magic or would intention magic potentially improve my lucid dreaming capabilities?

I invented intention magic AS A RESULT of my experiences with lucid dreaming.

I'm gonna eat some food right now but I'm gonna let the internet sit on this pretty fucking huge reveal before I make my bullet points about the rest of your questions 🥰

So let's talk lucid dreaming 🥰

I used to have these ridiculously frustrating nightmares. Usually the sort that are like the expanding hallway or the infinite locked doors or like an entity standing in your way or showing up that causes you fear and no matter which way you go you can't get away from it and it keeps getting closer

I hate feeling frustrated. I. Hate. Feeling frustrated.

I'm from Chicago. I have adhd. I need things to move fast because I move fast. Body, mind, heart, fucking soul, whatever you can think of to describe me one of the most important descriptive concepts to explain "me" is that I like to do things fast.

There's a lot of deeper explanations but that would require me to go into philosophical territory and I'm trying to go to bed soon plus that would be off topic so we're gonna stick with "I am both genetically and socially predisposed to be impatient"

(Side note: I'm also one of the most patient people you will ever meet because LITERALLY every second of life feels like it's in slow motion for me so there's not really much difference whether the 30 seconds I'm standing in line at the coffee shop feels like 7 hours or 17 hours. So if you need to take an extra 5 seconds to pick your flavor of the day, it's not gonna bother me. Not because I'm so patient, but because *you're already in slow motion. It doesn't feel like much of a difference*)

Anyway!

I know my normal level of impatience. So when my dreams used to ramp that up to 11, I noticed.

And so, I would just...

Fucking explode everything

My arms were like a speeding goddamn train. I shredded every stupid barrier like it was tissue paper and if my brain KEPT trying to stop me, I would FUCKING RAMP UP THE DESTRUCTION UNTIL THE DREAM REALITY GAVE THE FUCK IN and showed me something nice.

And then I'd relax in my lovely garden and have my tea and suddenly I was having beautiful dreams all the time

It got to the point that I looked FORWARD to having nightmares because I could wreak more havoc on my own mind and it didn't matter because I Fucking Created This Reality, and it's Fucking MINE To Play With.

Eventually I stopped having nightmares.

I still don't have them

My dreams are mostly just nice now. If anything stupid happens, I still have my powers. It doesn't last.

That being said, that was the origin of intention magic. I felt it. I still feel it. When I called fire, I got fire. When I called EXPLOSIVE fire, I got explosions and fucking fire. When I wanted a punch from my right hand to feel like you just got a FUCKING MOUNTAIN dropped on you, that's what you fucking felt.

And that's where Annabella's power came from.

See because in the dream, the important thing was that I had to know what I wanted.

Since these were largely "frustration dreams," they basically came pre-packaged with a clear desire that was being unfulfilled.

Let's say "sitting in a garden drinking tea"

I could feel the garden. I knew it was there. I knew what the tea tasted like, I knew what the flowers smelled like, and I knew what the sun was gonna feel like on my skin.

I also knew there was this FUCKING wall in the way with infinite doors. There was this stupid fucking hallway that never fucking ended. There was this big fucking bouncer who didn't want to let me in and showed up every time I found another entrance.

So

I fucking ripped him apart. I shredded his sorry ass limb from limb with my bare fucking hands and if a MILLION more of them came, they fell to the same fate until my goddamn brain stopped sending them. I punched through those infinite doors and launched myself at infinite goddamn speed down that infinite hallway with an ever expanding nuclear FUCKING explosion in front and to the sides of me until my brain finally relented and the garden came into view.

• I would suspect that your knowledge of its existence would give you more of an advantage than lucid dreaming does. I'm gonna say this a lot but: Intention magic is all about intention. Lucid dreaming may give you a step up on having the imagination to accomplish things that others couldn't, but more than anything, knowing that it's actually possible to shape the magic of the universe around your design is what will pull it off

• hypophantasia may be a hindrance if it makes you unable to solidify plans in your mind. Intention magic is all about intention. Intention is more than just imagination, it's you moving towards a goal with the knowledge that you can accomplish said goal. That being said, the more complex the goal and the plan to get to that goal, the weaker your magic might be if you can't put together in your mind the thought of you actually doing what you want to do.

• The word inadvertently is the keyword here. You'd have to mean for it to happen. That being said, it would be massively easier to trap yourself in a horrifying dream world than it would be to pull something from your dream into reality. If you, in your dreaming state, caused enough of a ripple in reality with your dreaming intention, you could potentially alter your dream reality to feel very real until your body awakens. But again, a terrifying dream reality is terrifying because you WANT to survive. You are in all likelihood working in that dream to ensure your survival, with the intention of those plans working and you actually surviving. Which means it would be basically impossible to REMAIN trapped in that world with your actual physical body here in reality. Your intention to survive would force you to remain very much wake-able and the moment you wake up, you would know that it was a dream and that you are now in reality. Also depending on your control of your magic you could potentially just do what I very much did in my actual real lucid dreams and wreck shit until the horror dream is dead and you're sipping tea in a nice garden.

• Well, it kinda depends here. Does the person have evidence of "everyone being against them"?

Because if no, then no.

Again, this isn't wish magic, it's not imagination magic, it's *intention* magic. Intention magic is all about intention. Someone who thinks everyone is out to get them WANTS everyone to NOT be out to get them. Or at least they want to find PROOF that everyone is out to get them.

So someone was having a very bad time and was fully convinced that everyone was out to get them, they'd probably start finding clues and evidence. They'd much more easily be able to build a case for themselves because the people working against them would fumble regularly and make enough foolish mistakes that they'd catch the perpetrators red-handed.

Or on the other hand, they would find that everyone who even seemed to be working against them would suddenly have a strong urge to move away or become their friends and defend them against anything harmful. They might get a whisper at a party saying like "I used to be working against you but I like you way too much and I'm on your side now. There's 3 more people at this party who want to see you fail. I'm gonna point them out and tell you what they're doing"

That's what the person would want. That's what they'd be imagining in all likelihood. Horror issues only horror because it takes away what you want

You want to survive. You're trying to survive. You are doing everything you can to survive. The universe is reading those intentions and they're going to make you survive.

• ah you see you've found an important distinction! Yes, intention magic isn't about imagination and it's not about desire. Let's say it all together now: Intention magic is all about intention.

Imagine this just in your normal life:

Perfectly average. Perfectly boring. Nothing to see here

Now, please keep that scene in your mind.

OK keep exactly that in your mind and do not change a single thing.

A good clear way to describe intention magic is this:

You get up. You go to your fridge because you're thirsty. You grab a bottle of something to drink. You pour it into your favorite glass, and you drink it. And then your friend watching you in the room faints

because You do not have arms or hands.

That's what intention magic is.

It's not acting on your imagination. It's not fulfilling a wish

Both of which are fairly clear-cut cases of matter and energy manipulation, especially if Annabella’s source of immortality is herself (which is still an open question at this point in the series for anyone who is not initiated into the lore)

But with that, yeah you could get to the point where changing your form could essentially be like changing your clothes. Just like knowing how to put a shirt and shorts on, you'd be changing your body. The Universe knows how to make it happen so all you'd have to focus on is knowing what you actually want. Just like picking out an outfit for the day. Again, you don't get dressed by sitting there imagining yourself with clothes on. You go to your closet, pick out your item for the day, and physically put it on. Your intention and actions shape the outcome of you having on new clothes
