✦ the March Art Challenge

✷ do i have to draw every day? nope — this isn't that kind of challenge! i try to keep things laid back and accessible, so you can skip as many days as you need if you're busy, falling behind, or want a break for any reason! there are 10 main days (marked with a star) to anchor yourself through the month, you can just focus on those if you want!

✷ do i have to make finished art? nope — this challenge is intended for warming up and trying new things more than anything, so quick/unfinished sketches are fine! you can 'polish' your art if you want to, but it's not required at all!

✷ what is the tag for the event? #mARTch or #mARTch2026 this year! i encourage everyone to spend some time in there appreciating what other people are doing during the event!

✷ can you share/promote my entries? unfortunately this year i'm gonna have to take a step back from cataloguing entries - sorryyyy!!! in the past i've shared everything in the tag to my blog @bweirdevents but as the event has grown from a few friends to a few hundred people, it's left me with less and less time to actually participate myself. the blog will remain up as an archive and i'll still try my best to like/interact here and in the discord as much as i can, but my cataloguing days are definitely behind me

✷ can i re-upload your prompt list on another site? i would really prefer people just use the reblog/retweet/share button instead

B-WEIRD OC-TOBER DAY 31: Halloween Costume! (and a belated happy birthday to myself :3)

happy halloween everyone I hope you all had fun!! this is my persona and my irl oguri cap cosplay!! incidentally i didn't get to wear her on halloween because i didnt finish her on time but!! now i have a super epic cosplay to wear at conventions in my area B) most of my gear was thrifted or sewn by my mom because she pitied the fact i barely know how to work the sewing machine :sob:,,,, im much more of a hand sewing person myself but if i had to make ALL of this with my uneven stitches i would lose my mind.

on a side note my birthday was fun too! spent quality time with my friends, got treated to lunch and dinner between my uni classes and managed to gaslight the aforementioned friends into believing my birthday was in november until the last minute. i am now on a hitlist /silly

Ignore that I'm going to be posting these post-October/OC-tober, it's done when I say it's done.

Haven't drawn characters smooching in a hot minute, so I'm not too confident that I got the lips looking right. Kiss challenge template credit to Hiveworks for the inspiration. I did chop one of the boxes off, though, since I only have concrete designs for three of the main cast of Timberfall right now, but there are at least two others that are part of the eventual polycule Fliss helps create.

I also tried tying in the color palette challenge part of this prompt for the fun of it (with a few extra colors for the backgrounds), and while I think it came out ok in the end, I'm not entirely happy with the end result, but eh, whatever. It was a nice exercise working with a limited color palette.

Day 14 complete, 10 drawings remain.
