“Real Emo” only consists of the bands tik tok told me to listen to. What is known as “classic screamo” is nothing more than hardcore/powerviolence with questionable emo influence. When people try to argue that Moss Icon is not real emo, while saying that Orchid is, I can’t help but cringe because they are just as fake emo as Moss Icon (plus the pretentiousness). Real Emo sounds 5-15 seconds long, sped up, or slowed + reverb. Fake emo is emotional, dissonant, and a failed attempt to direct aura and rizz into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Dystopia, vs self, your arms are my cocoon (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Haggus. Some examples of FAKE EMO are Orchid, Joshua Fit for Battle, and Indian Summer. EMO BELONGS TO TIK TOK NOT TO HARDCORE PUNK, POWERVIOLENCE, GRINDCORE, OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE.

I WAS AT THIS SHOW!! u can kinda see me but not really. one of the best shows i ever been to tbh other than the fact that it was a gazillion degrees and i slipped on a literal pool of sweat at one point. hate to be that guy but if the show is hot please keep your shirt ON you’ll live.

speaking of hot emo shows, bvzzkil update i saw vs! in march. i really dont care for vs so much anymore, by no means r they a bad band just not my cup of tea anymore, but seeing them after being a fan of 2+ years and them never coming to co and being turned away at the door the first time i went to see them in phx was very cathartic for me.

but this isnt a vs post.
