Having sent all the other first-years in his nervous fliers club back to their dormitories, Harry comes barrelling into the hospital wing with his broomstick still clutched tightly in his fist, tracking mud all over the scrubbed wooden floors. When Rose had seen fit to invite her new best friend along this evening, he hadnât argued with her, thinking that perhaps Scorpiusâs presence would give her some much-needed confidence in the air. Things had been going rather well until the young Slytherin started showing off for her, pulling manoeuvres befitting a more experienced flier, and now⌠well, here they are. One boy in the hospital wing, and another twenty-odd students now so afraid of falling, Harry wonders if heâll ever get them back on their brooms.
Frustrations aside, his primary concern at the moment is for Scorpius - of course he had trusted Rose to escort him safely to Madame Clearwater, but heâd hit the ground hard, and itâs with a twinge of sympathy that Harry recalls exactly what that feels like. After all, how many times during his own school days had he ended up in one of these beds? He strides straight towards the children in his charge, mumbling a quick âsorryâ as one of the other matrons clucks at the mess heâs made, only to stop dead in his tracks when he realises whoâs with them. Whoâs turning around to look at him. Whoâs started to talk to him. Merlinâs gaping arseholeâŚ
âMalf-â The instinctive, acidic response is already halfway out of his mouth by the time Harry remembers that heâs an adult, a teacher, and standing in front of two of his students no less. If there was ever a time for professionalism, itâs now. âErm- Mister Malfoy,â he corrects himself, and then, unable to come up with anything more intelligent to say, âWhat are you doing here?â
draco didnât trust many people at hogwarts, when his son was old enough to go he had been weary about it. despite his name being cleared that didnât mean that people still wouldnât treat him or his family differently. when he learned that he had gotten hurt he had come down himself to see what was wrong, afraid that maybe he wouldnât get the proper care that he needed. so thatâs really why he was here, or what he was trying to convince himself at least. he had been getting good at healing, it was a secret to most people still that he was studying to be a healer having already gone through the long process of quitting his other job since it wasnât fulfilling and he never had truly felt like he belonged anyway.Â
seeing harry here had been a bit of a shock, and he didnât know why, he just supposed that harry would have ended up being an auror like most of his friends. he had briefly looked at him before looking down back at his son with a bit of a smirk hearing him quickly change the way he was going to address him. it was all very funny to him, the look on rose and scorpiusâ face looking between both of them was confusion but draco said nothing. âmy son is hurt, if you didnât know.â he replies, âso i am here.â he says it like itâs obvious, because it is, harry potter was still daft as ever. he didnât have to explain himself, he hoped harry just knew why he would have been very skeptical of the care that scorpius would have been given.Â
he wants to say, for a professor youâre not very bright.Â
he wants to say a lot of things, but he doesnât.Â
