UCLA is now online for the entirety of spring quarter, and the saddest part is that this would have been my last quarter at UCLA yet it feels like I’ve already graduated because I won’t be walking the campus or doing the things I planned on doing as usual.

UCI suspended commencement and I feel like UCLA is going to do the same. This actually makes me so sad because idk if some of my family will still be around for the next time I graduate (hopefully from med school) and honeslty for a lot of people, this might be the last time in their lives that they graduate, so it really is unfortunate that it all happens now.

23.06.19 | I’m alive! Just getting used to summer lessons and getting organized for them as well. It’s gonna be a rough year to graduate but I changed classes and now I’m studying things I really enjoy. No more physics, yay!

Went to see my instructor to go over some stuff this morning, and she thinks I have the makings of a great paper! I just have to write those last 750 words, bibliography, and edit.

She also encouraged me to apply to TA intro ecology labs and I think I might? Time to get that co-curricular record going. I just don’t want to be bad at it, because it’s a hard enough lab without inept TAs, but apparently if the instructor reached out, she thinks I’m qualified, so it’s worth a shot!

I did the hard thing and emailed a prof to get instructor permission to take a fourth-year phytoplankton biology course in the winter and he said yes 10 minutes later. :’) I have a full course load again! Also tweaked my fall schedule while I was at it, and no more Friday afternoon physics lab. (Pro tip: avoid Friday afternoon labs if you can, because literally nobody wants to be there, including your TAs. I’ve gotten so much more out of non-Friday labs because everybody’s more mentally present.)
