Hongou smiled softly, deciding that if this was truly their last day together, he could at least let her know all the things heâd been feeling since they began to spend time together. Leaning down, he brushed a lock of her hair behind her ear, murmuring, âI think I should tell you something.â
Without warning, he gently pressed their lips together, making sure she was alright with it before parting to whisper, âI⌠enjoy this. I enjoy being with you.â
It wasnât anywhere near âI love you,â of course, not âI like youâ⌠But it was something. And it was all he could manage.
"Tell me wha--"
She was cut off from her question by his lips pressed against hers, even if for only a bit it made her cheeks heat up even more than they were already. When he moved away to speak again, a hand moved to her lips to touch at them, not sure what to make of any of this.
"...I--I guess I feel the same. But that won't keep me from seeing my daughters, Hongou."
