“Booyah!”

A satisfying feeling, to see ‘High Score’ appear on the screen. While it wasn’t exactly like the games she’d played on Remnant - way too unrealistic, for a start, and what did the teller mean by a Konami code? - it was entertaining. Maybe she’d just been hoping to lose track of time with stupid flashing lights for a while.

Entering initials into the screen, she’d pause at the feeling she was being watched. A boy - probably a bit older than her, actually - seemed to have glanced in her direction. Probably not just to play the game, too, which was fair enough, but she hadn’t been that loud. At least, not loud enough to be told off more than a couple of times.

What a strange group of people she’d found in this city; while huntresses were able to dress in whatever fashion they deemed appropriate, the variety paled in comparison to this place. While she wasn’t used to watching people, it was interesting to guess what their role was. Sunglasses would totally hide the fact she was staring at people right?

Given the fact the guy she’d been studying seemed to have noticed, she guessed not. She’d smile shamelessly - with all the talk of a war, it was fair enough to size up potential competition.

Okay, she had to admit it; she really missed having a scroll. While this cube was pretty amazing, it just wasn’t what she was used to; still, she’d figure out what worked best. There was a lot of stuff on there that she hadn’t bothered with, and most likely wouldn’t for a while. Not when she’d found the way to change between the different functions, which was the cause of her just stopping in the middle of the street.

Surely, something this flashy would do something so basic. Not that she had the patience to flick through it for long, reaching out to poke the nearest person until she was sure they were paying attention.

Well, this definitely wasn’t Remnant; even if the handy voice hadn’t filled her in, it wouldn’t have been too hard to tell. She’d put aside the implications of being here for now. A new city, new people, new things to do... and a new partner, apparently.

As if that was ever going to go well.

Still, she should at least try and figure out what this whole deal meant for her before she actually had to do something. Maybe paying more attention would have been a good idea, but asking anyone who stood out would probably be just as effective.

“There’s a lot of people I’m disappointed in. Myself mainly.” She’s not going to mention the other people she’s disappointed in, not when disappointed didn’t feel strong enough of a term.

   ann knows that having blonde hair isn’t really a rare trait, but having been bullied for it for most of her teen years among the brown and black hair of japanese students, it’s a bit odd for her to see someone with golden locks. in fact, they almost look like pure gold and so well-kept; ann’s almost a bit jealous! her hair doesn’t curl so naturally and flawlessly than the other—is that genetics at work? though when she realizes she’s been staring for too long, she snaps out of her gaze and apologizes to the woman who probably thinks she’s a creep.

If there was one thing in particular she hated about this arm, it was that it meant even more people looked at her. Being the center of attention wasn’t a problem, but people staring at that was something she’d try to ignore. Had the other girl not spoken up, she probably would have had to react - what a relief that the reason she’d been standing there wasn’t the reason she’d been expecting. Saint something... she really should have paid more attention to the announcement, but when she’d heard dangerous she’d been out and trying to stop people from going mad. Not too successful in the endeavor, but it was worth a shot.

He lets out a breath, fully aware of the narrow margin by which he’d escaped with his life and dignity intact. But the relief is short-lived, soon turning too despair when his hand reaches out only to grab at air.

These are extremely dire straits. A man has gotta gotta have racked up some extreme bad karma to be so unlucky. Is there even any coming back from being backed into a corner like this?

“There’s no toilet paperrrrrrrrr!”

What’s with this shitty timing? It’s almost like the author’s doing this on purpose. Oi oi, this trick has to be way too cliche, right? Besides, the gorilla’s already used this one.

Grumbling in frustration, Gintoki digs through his pockets, turning up the odd sweet wrapper and bits of lint. There is no god, nothing that can save him now. And to make matters worse, there was no one nearby when he rushed in; only the mindless infected making stupid zombie sounds that echoed off the walls of the empty toilet.

That’s it. It’s over then. He’ll either have to wreck his Yukata or rot on the toilet for eternity. He’s about to bury his head in his hands, and then he catches a glimpse of it.

They’d called it command seals. Yang had to follow his orders if he used this right?

“Uh, test test. Oi, I don’t know if you can hear me, but bring me toilet paper now.”

What poor timing. She’d been trying to find these fragments, trying to keep them away from the crazy people - experience with Ruby and the cookie jar was truly invaluable - even if she wasn’t sure it was really worth it. Being caught in the middle of a group was definitely an inopportune time for a command to come through.

“You’ve got to be joking. Now’s really not a good time.”

Of course, complaining out loud wasn’t going to help much. A swing with her right - hopefully these people knew where the hospital was - would clear them enough to get to the cube, punching in her master’s number.

Great, now she had to juggle three things.

She wasn’t sure if he’d picked up, or if it would go to an answerphone, although it didn’t really matter. Seeing a convenience store that was probably on the way, she’d make her way towards it, cursing whatever had caused this to happen.
