The castle was a vast and intimidating place to many but not so for the smallest occupant. He who had grown wild in the forest, sleeping alongside Pokemon under a dark blanket of stars, knew other fears. Hollow echoing corridors, the bumps that resounded in them during the night, influenced curiosity instead of fear. N was carried through them now - a small bundle of limbs, unruly tea green hair and the simplistic clothes he’d been forced to adorn. Occasionally he lifted his head to stare at the father figure who ferried him. Where were they going and why? He wanted to know these things but he did not ask. Not with his words, or what little he knew how to say. A different kind of communication reached for Ghetsis. Something soundless at first, then audible like a purr. It didn’t earn him a response. N averted his eyes, contemplating. Behind his closed lips his tongue shifted uncertainly. Perhaps he could try speaking. A door opened and the creaking sound redirected the young boy’s attention. He sunk into Ghetsis’ arms like a small animal trying to hide. There was a glaring light within the frame they moved towards in which the silhouette of a man he didn’t know stood stark. This black shape greeted them, slowly becoming clearer; curved lenses, smooth hair and the slightest flash of teeth as he smiled. N’s wider eyes darted over the lengthy lab coat, searching, while he drew in a tentative breath. Something sweet smelling yet oddly sour lingered in the air. There was no fear in Ghetsis’ features when he looked back at him. He didn’t know why he felt afraid of this other man. Of the room that lay behind Colress and its bad smells. Upon being carried inside N’s small hands grasped at the Plasma leader’s robes and scaled his shoulder. He was all but standing in his father’s arms in order to peer at the way they had come. The door was closed, his retreat cut off, and after a moment of stillness and staring N began to explore his new surroundings with his widened eyes. It was cleaner than most of the castle rooms he had been to before. There was a desk, odd looming pieces of machinery and that strange man was still with them. He turned his head to look at Ghetsis yet again, forever relying on confirmation from his guardian’s body language. When there was again no threat to be found he slumped, seated once more, patient and calm. While the two talked he eventually took it upon himself to crawl out of Ghetsis’ lap for further exploration. He didn’t wander far - he rarely did - and habitually kept to all fours as he traversed the laboratory office. Instead of touching like a normal toddler N preoccupied himself investigating scents. Only when it suited him did he stretch himself up to his full height, standing on his ‘hind’ legs like they did, to see something that was otherwise out of his reach. When he returned to his haunches he leaned his weight to one side, raised his foot and scratched at his ear with his toes just like he’d seen his Pokemon friends do. A prickling feeling suddenly traced his spine.

He glanced down at the child for a moment, remembering the time he took the boy in. Now, N had grown used to being around him, at first he was rather skittish. Though, he did become rather clingy over time. He did as he was told and never asked any questions, the child was well behaved, even if he had been raised in the wild for some time. 

His gaze moved back to the path before him, walking down the corridor, dim lights illuminating it as much as they could. He'd have to remember to get someone to change them, if grunts could even do that much right.  They messed up so many times, he couldn't even keep track of it anymore. Even the thought irritated him. Though, he could not get upset with this child here, if he did the boy would only become more clingy than he already was. 

The strange boy he carried through the large halls. He was...odd, to say the least. He acted exactly like a Pokemon would; though that wasn't much of a surprise. He did live with them for quite some time. He couldn't blame the boy. This way, if he stayed as obedient, Ghetsis would have no trouble in the future when he carried out his plans. That train of thought was for another time, however. 

They neared a door, and using one hand the man opened it while still holding the boy with his other arm. He stepped inside the room, closing it behind him. He didn't want N trying to run, now would he? His gaze fixated on the man as he neared them.
