it's a little offputting, right? dimentio is a jester- one whose job is literally to entertain. and there's also the fact that dimentio has had many moments where he is very much NOT serious. rifling through mimi's diary for fun, cracking jokes and making silly puns, all that. but i dunno. i feel like we get a peek at the "real" dimentio for a bit. he clearly enjoys his similes and his jokes and gags (i mean, the dimentio clone room is a big joke, right?) but this line has always struck me, because like, is it all superficial? is it as much of a "mask" as the physical one is? (i mean, like, obviously, he wants to end the world and stuff. but still.)

i like it. the mask slips a little in this line, imo. he's not as gleeful as he makes himself out to be, even in that sadistic sort of way. i've always headcanoned that in a few moments where the "mask" sorta slips like this, dimentio's hypothetical line delivery would be a lot more flat and less sing-songy than he usually is. here's a few more lines where i imagine that would happen
