actually before i log off i have to say this. since the bb thing a few adults have taken the opportunity to make comments about how it’s ok to stan groups full of minors so long as you’re not engaging with content inappropriately ie only listening to the music etc and i suppose I’d be inclined to agree if in the case of n*wjeans it were a situation where you’d be listening to normal music from a normal group who happen to be minors. but i do feel like you guys are either missing the point or ignoring the problem on purpose. streaming the music and buying the album directly supports them. it doesn’t ‘inappropriately’ interact with them as an adult in the way that running a blog dedicated to their face does, but it tells min heejin that their concept (which is built around the hypersexualisation of minors such as brooke shields — PLEASE look it up it’s virtually confirmed, there are naked photos of her as a minor as well as other kids on mhj’s vision boards) is what people WANT to see and what SELLS. it’s in the lyrics and in the music videos. when mhj says it’s not, people take it at face value with 0 critical thinking because they don’t want to be dubbed weirdos for it, but it doesn’t change fact. and the fact that people support the group and mhj regardless of that tells her that it’s something to be overlooked and it’s not a big enough issue for it to affect sales and popularity. hence the fact it’s given her the ability to repeat the formula with a boy group now. we have been having this conversation since the debut now and im not interested in trying to drill it through your heads anymore but at this point i feel like you guys should at the very least acknowledge that you don’t actually care about the real harm that this is causing as a whole to children rather than patting yourselves on the back because ‘well I only stream the music sometimes!’ like yeah, that still counts as support and that’s up to you. but it doesn’t really absolve you of responsibility and i think if you were truly honest with yourselves you’d take a step back and realise that any kind of engagement plays directly into mhj’s hand and pockets.
