So I wrote a fix about my WoF OC Nightshine and I’ve been wanting to post it for a while.

(1) The Rise of Death
He promised he would be back, but it’s been three days already. The egg is soon to hatch.
Snarling waves snap at the rock she’s resting on, threatening to swallow her whole if she falls. But she can’t. Her baby must make it.
Turning her multicolored head to the far land she wonders if he’ll ever return. The nightwings must need him for something. Something. She shutters. Kidnapping her own kind. Despicable. How could she have ever fallen for a nightwing?
A small fireless sigh slips past her maw. Tired. The sleep clawing its nasty crooked nails at her eyes. This isn’t a suntime nap she wants to take.
No. This sleep feels wrong, but yet it keeps singing her name. Beckoning to her. It isn’t so wrong to sleep, is it?
The sun agrees with her, resting lowly against the pink tinted clouds as its warm colors bleed out like colored water on paper.
She lays down her head. “Don’t worry, my baby… I’m right here.” Her voice comes out in a calm hush.
The water stills. Knowing its target is already gone.

A moon greets the egg, blessing it with its gift. The other? Only giving it half of its attention. And the third? Never bothered to show.
The egg slowly shifts from its black and rainbow to silver with hints of color. The urge to escape is strong. The first moon screaming her name, while the other is a light whisperer. Faint but there.
Egg shell flicks out and into the sea. As an abyss blue baby takes the eggs place. Her feathers soaked in fluid. Her small eyes are greeted by a resting figure. A small chirp emits from her mouth.
With wobbly legs. She makes her way towards the dragon. Mother. A word not known to her. But the feeling was this there.
She lightly nudges the larger dragon’s head. Nothing. Asleep? The tiny dragonet squeezes herself under her mother’s wing, but the cold still claws at her.
When day finally greets her. The dragonet slips herself free. The floor is smooth, and uncomfortable against her claws. She looks down into the water. A blue, black and purple face greeting her. Red eyes, frills with feathers, black scales. She looks nothing like her mother.
She turns towards her mom, noticing just how bright and colorful her scales are compared to her own. She lightly shakes her mothers muzzle with her front paw in an effort to wake her up.
Excitement flows through her like a rabid river. The dragonet climbs on top of her mothers back, and begins to jump. It didn’t matter what she looked like. Her mom would still loves her. Right?
She doesn’t react. Even as the day passes. Her mom remains stiff and cold.
The sun starts to dissipate behind the blackening clouds. She peers over the smooth rock and into the water. Fish. They looked like little pieces of candy. Her stomach makes itself known, and so does its guest — hunger pain.
She shuffles closer to the edge, ready to jump into the dark blue when her vision clouds.
She can’t breathe. Even as her lungs desperately struggle for oxygen. All that comes is water. She yelps, throwing herself into her mother.
Confusion seeps its way into her mind like fog. She looks down at herself. Light green. What happened to her black? Slowly, as if her scales realized they were the wrong color, shift back into black, white-blue, purple, blue, and pink. The same colors that greeted her when the world first gifted her with sight.
Her stomach lightly reminds her she hasn’t eaten by flooding her senses with pain.
The baby dragonet doubles over. Her scales going snow-white. She drags herself over to her mother -whose belly looked a little larger than usual- and slid under her cold, stiff wing.

It’s been too long. Her mother is starting to smell. And her stomach is slowly torture her. She steps closer to her mother. Red eyes flowing with a grim sadness.
She takes her small teeth and slowly rips at the tough scales of her mother. Her skin finally brakes. A thick, red-black liquid oozes out. The dragonet, completely driven by hunger, begins to tare more and more at the skin, and carves into the flesh. It tasted sweet, but also rotted.
She wasn’t able to stop until a small hole appears in her mothers side. The small dragonet weeps, curling her feather tipped tail around her mothers.

The days slowly go past. The dragon laying beside her is now hollowed out. Was this ever her mother?
The world lashes out. Waves smashing against the pathetic patch of rock as the black clouds drive in. There’s no shelter, and there’s no good way to escape the oncoming storm.
She carefully climbs into the hollow of her mom, grasping onto her ribs as the wind picks up. She closes her eyes, looking for a weak substitute in her head to hide the reality.
The storm slowly passed, taking its rampage to the main island. She crawls out from her mother’s chest. Her scales dripping with red.
The sight of black causes her head to snap up. Another dragon! But still different from her. He lands with a thunderous bang. Teal eyes wide with dismay.
Like she’s wasn’t there, the nightwing rushes to her mother. His trembly claws scoop her stone-like body up. “N-no. Flora.” He whispers, his whole body trembling with a mix of overbearing emotions.
He would he easier to read if he had scales like hers. She thinks, bored eyes meeting his own.
“Y-you FREAK!!” He booms, making his emotion well and clear. A quick flash. His claws sinking into her, making quick work of her thin scales.
She leaps out the way just as his talons slam down into rock. He roars in a cocktail pain and rage.
He inhales, and another flash takes hold of her vision. The smell of burning flesh fills her nose, but she can’t see or hear anything.
The dragonet dives below his hind legs, reappearing behind him. Multiple flashes. All depicting her death in many different ways (dumb ways to die ahh). One flash however. She opens her jaw wide, and bites down on his neck. He falls limp. That’s where the vision fades.
She leaps forward, sharp, thin claws cutting up his back as she sinks her teeth into the exact spot where she had in her mind. She feels a liquid shoot out through her front teeth.
The nightwing screeches as he slams her into the ground. The flesh around his neck bubbles and melts. Flesh dripping onto the floor like liquid. He topples over, going limp.
Two food sources. She might be able to live just a little longer. She didn’t know what he said, but she didn’t care. All she could think about was the anger in his eyes. The rage. The hatred. It was either him or her.

She had been testing out her wings. Gliding against the wind and building up muscle. She was big enough to crawl in and out of the water.
The fish didn’t taste as good as her mother did, but the nightwing? He tasted like he had been rotting for five months, and it had only been one.
She had to push the colorful rainwing into the ocean. She had been drained of blood, muscle, and organs. The flies had taken a liking to her too.
She couldn’t survive off of blood as a water source for very long.
When the wind was strong she took off, using air currents to get as close to the mainland as possible. But when there was no wind and air?
The cold, unforgiving water greeted her like it knew she wasn’t going to make it. She cups her claws, and begins to use her feathered tail like a dolphin’s tail. Her wings work overtime just to push her forward and shove her out of the water.
She leaps back into the air, taking a frantic breath before the water smashes into her face. Water forces its way into her mouth, causing her to struggle.
She didn’t breathe in, thank the moons. But the taste wasn’t any better.
She continues, using her body in ways no nightwing or rainwing should have. Her body screams and complains. But her only options are cary on, or drown. The visions in her mind give her a reminder every time she slows down.
Finally her claws touch sand. She uses the last of her strength to push herself up onto land, and passes out.

He’s never seen anything like this. A strange hybrid showing up on the beach. He steps into her cell, holding a small tray of water and meat.
The hybrid jumps up. Red eyes locking onto his own. Like he could be her next meal. He slowly sets down the tray like he’s in the presence of a wild beast.
Her bright red eyes slowly turn to the tray, and as soon as she sees the clear liquid. It’s gone, already down in her throat.
“Thirsty, aren’t you…?” He asks in a weak attempt at conversation. She lifts her head. Staring. “U-um. Okay. Not a dragon’s dragon, huh?”
She tilts her head, gaze unwavering.
His peach eyes go wide, his maw drooping with a pop. “You seriously can’t understand me? Have you been living under a rock?!” His voice comes out in a shout.
The hybrid jumps back, snarling at him. He shoots his red scaled claws up, backing away. “Whoa! Whoa! Easy… you dumb beast. I’m not going to hurt you.”
She narrows her eyes at him. Staring. Watching his every move. “Eugh.” He shudders. “I’m out. You creepy freak….” He mutters.
She lunges at him, fangs snapping shut millimeters away from his face. If it wasn’t for the chain around her neck. He’d be dead.
He sprints out of the room, just as venom hits the wooden door, melting it.

They studied her. Trying to get as much information about her nightwing side. She however, was more focused on what they said, slowly taking in the language of dragon through osmosis.
She needs them. They need her, though the queen -Queen Scarlet- was more interested in making her fight.
She mimics moves, using her short vision to guide her. She matches her attacker, watching to see their fighting style. And when she got all the information she could from them, they’d end up in a heap of flesh and venom.
They thought she was deformed, which she is, though her venom was becoming a well known gift.
A skywing guard cautiously makes his way up to her cell, sliding in her tray of scraps. “You freak. You shouldn’t exist. No hybrid should.” He spits with as potent of a venom as her own.
“And yet. Here I am. Funny how life just… throws it’s worse at you. Just like how I am!” She grins gleefully before snapping her jaw open and spraying his face and neck with venom. He screams in shock and agony, clinging to his face as it falls to the floor like water.
“Really should have known it was coming. Hey! Look who’s the freak now! At least MY face isn’t goop!” She laughs before pulling on the chain with all her strength. One of the links pop open, and she takes off, turning herself blue like the sky.
Her camouflage wasn’t the best, and her feathers definitely didn’t help, but it bought her enough time to escape.
She’s out loose. A killer with no feeling for others, and in the middle of an ongoing war to fuel her violent joy.
