Up in the hills where the raspberries spread
taking over the banks with the knotweed and rocks
you'll find me wandering
running
sitting.
Out at dusk, away from the sun
I'll wait for her
while the moths swarm and the birds settle down.
Can you hear it?
The river rushes by.
The rain is late.
I'll wait for her.

Feeling so blessed 💖 11/7 was perfect.
And I'm doubly blessed to have spent it with such amazing people. Photos from the most beautiful @wholeheartedsuggestions, your presence is all the gift I ever wanted, and seeing the world through your camera means I can treasure moments like this forever.
we run away in the dead of the night
full of laughter and moonlight and cake
but next morning will find us both back in our bed
still learning what heart and home means
- Miriam, midnight wedding
dancing down a mushroom path
in the sunlight sent from june
we’ll watch for clouds and rain and mist
until the butterflies follow us home
- Miriam, morning vows
I LOVE YOU

hi miriam!! i've missed you and your words! hope things have been okay for you. 💞
Hi Jay 💕 I've missed you too, it's been weird to not really have a lot of words, but I've been really happy this last year. I'm having an existential crisis about what I want to do with my life but my wedding is coming up soon and I'm happy ✨
I hope life is being good to you

So you made it?
The sun hits your shoulders, and there’s confetti in the air. Or maybe it’s flowers. Or maybe it’s leaves and too much imagination, but there’s the sun and oh, isn’t it beautiful.
Five years ago, you’re laying on your bed with your legs up on the wall. Your sister texted you an hour ago, maybe 12 hours ago, but who cares when you can just lie here. In the dark. This is what it feels like to almost die. And you take a deep breath, because there’s still air. So breath it. And wait for it to fade. Wait for everything to fade so you can be gone.
You always wondered what it would be like to be a picture on the wall. Isn’t that romantic; to succeed, stand in the sunshine, and wait for the camera to click? I mean, it won’t be you. But it sure would be nice. Instead, you’ll let the hours go by and maybe make up a self-righteous story of what you don’t deserve. This is what it feels like to be sick.
Five years ago, you asked them to give you a reason to stay. They gave you one hundred, and you hated every one. Why couldn’t they tell you what you wanted to hear? Why couldn’t they ever pretend you were right. But they didn’t. And you laid on your bed with your legs on the wall and cried until your cheeks hurt. Who were they to tell you what it was like to live.
But you made it. I guess. This is what it feels like to have your picture on the wall. Maybe it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Maybe the sun wasn’t that warm. And the flowers weren’t as nice. And you’re still crying. You’re crying so much and suddenly you feel everything. This isn’t what they said it would be, but it’s enough and somehow, it’s more.
This is what it feels like to almost die, and this is what it feels like to live. Down comes the confetti and down comes the flowers and all that’s left is you. And look at how far you’ve come. You made it.
- Miriam, and I wish you knew how proud I was

smile.
practice each phrase in your head. tell them every good thing until you’ve run out and sprinkle in hints. hints of the bad. because you’re optimistic. you’re kind. you see the good. right? find the good.
smile.
take your meds and try not to choke. first it's one. then it's two. then you lose count. you did everything right and still, here you are. did you do everything right? maybe it’s your fault.
smile.
give them a prognosis. this time it’ll work. put on a convincing face and a convincing voice. spillover with gratitude. because no one likes the depressed sick girl. do your work and excel like everyone else. you’re good but you have to be better.
smile.
remember how your body felt before it hurt. you can’t. remember how your body will feel after it hurt. can you? is there any point?
hurt.
then smile.
- Miriam, maybe optimism can take the week off
USA COVID-19 Mutual Aid Resources
Hi everyone, I know COVID-19 has had and will continue to have devastating impacts on many, especially for those who are low income, high risk, disabled, etc. Here is a folder (not created by me) with resources organized by state for mutual aid and other resources.
If you need aid or assistance, please reach out to resources in your area. If you are unable to find resources in your area, I am happy to try and help look for some for you. I have signed up as an aid volunteer for those in my community, and if you are able, I hope you will too.
my cracked heart
hasn’t glowed in so long
quite like it did for you today.
when the light shines in,
i know it’s all you—
the universe giving me
your distant smile
in the form of sunbeams.
from here my heart glows.
i know it’s all you.

i have completely stopped writing poetry because i started hating my writing in november, but mir got engaged soooo...
much love, @bumbleblossoms 💗
A sparkly video to accompany my happy news! We are engaged! So happy and so full of love 💞 (and also very distracted by my sparkly ring!)
“Today, I know I’ve grown. I heard of another’s love blooming to the fullest extent and I was not jealous of my own small buds. Simply, I am overjoyed to see their love solidified in the world in this new way- a garden with roots that stretch down into the concrete of the city. Boston has never looked so beautiful as it does now, full of their flowering.”
- @bumbleblossoms got engaged y’all!!!!

cuddle session 💗
someone told you loss was fatal,
and you carried it-
like a burden
like a bruise
like a star away from home.
maybe one night you remembered
all of that pain and you tried so hard-
to forget.
to be anywhere else.
to be anyone else?
you stayed though. you stayed
and somehow never really noticed as days went by
and you were here.
maybe, your pain was real.
maybe, you stayed for a reason.
maybe, loss wasn’t the end.
- Miriam, maybe, you survived
