Ok so I’m thinking about Caine and how he was built to be a creative AI, and I think that’s exactly why he’s so bad at connecting with the circus cast. Which like duh, he’s an AI, we’ve established that’s a barrier to connecting with the humans, but I’m talking about the creative part. He was built to come up with new ideas, NOT to please the circus. I’m not even sure he wants to please the circus at all, he just thinks that’s what he wants, but what he really wants is to be validated in his ability to come up with and execute new ideas. That’s his purpose, that’s what he was built for. I think that’s the reason he ignores the suggestion box, why the adventures they DID take from the suggestion box had some sort of twist and he strongly disliked them, and why he snapped when Pomni told him he doesn’t listen. It’s because he wasn’t made to collaborate on ideas, he was made to come up with them. From Caine’s perspective, the circus has been asking him over and over again to do something he just isn’t capable of doing. The idea HAS to be his, or he can’t do it.
